Highly recommended for breakfast and brunch. Service is good and near to the place has a lot of parking. The have new branch inside Sunway Pyramid. My favorite is the sticky omelette and the house egg ben. Yum yum. :)

One of the few café places in Cheras. I had my first eggs benedict(the House Egg Ben) in Malaysia in that small and neat place that is equivalent to the size of a twin sharing bedroom. The eggs were perfectly poached with the yolk flowing out like it’s just been released from being caged. I was never a fan of poached eggs because they tend to be rather tasteless, but the Hollandaise sauce did the trick for me. De-li-cious! Even better, the golden brown spiced potatoes on the sides were addictive. I’ve also stolen two bites from my sister’s Beef Sandwich: the bread was delicious and the beef was tender. The meals at That Latte Place(IKON) were affordable with nothing over RM20.

My brother introduced this eatery sometime back when it was still located at Ampang. I had a hard time finding this place in the past as the location was secluded, I couldn’t find That Latte Place. Thankfully, it has shifted into this building called the Ikon Connaught which is next to Giant Hypermarket, Taman Connaught. If you’re not sure where it is, you should know where the largest night market(pasar malam) in Malaysia is located at. The Ikon building is right in front of it. As you enter That Latte Place, you’ll be greeted with a friendly counter girl who is so willing to recommend you the best drinks and foods to indulge. My personal favorite would be the Hearty Breakfast. It is the all-time favorite American style breakfast. In this Hearty Breakfast, you will be able to enjoy hash browns, egg omelets, fresh vegetable, tomatoes, bread, baked bean and potato. I don’t see any reasons to not love this place at all!

I first found out this place years ago when the whole coffee culture has not boomed. Coming here for a coffee on the weekend is a ritual. It’s an extremely charming nook, nothing fancy, just a few tables and chairs in amidst of a garden. Coffee and brunch are decent, menu is simple and fuss-free. However, the place does get very warm during noon as it’s an outdoor café. During the evenings, there are sometimes mozzies and insects flying around. Having said that, it’s still one of the most laid-back, pretty café in town.

That Latte place was my favorite spot for brunch, until of course they moved from Jalan Ritchie to Ikon @ Connaught. I was so disappointed when i read their facebook status saying that they will be closing business at Jalan Ritchie by April 272014. Now i say this because their location at Jalan Ritchie was just so amazing. It was al fresco and gave you the feel of being on a vacation. So you sit on these cute little tables and chairs that are pretty much patio furniture; under shady trees and enjoying your cup or coffee. Utter bliss. We loved this place and the environment so much that we would line up for a table on weekends(especially sundays). In my honest opinion, they serve the best eggs benedict. Also I loved their rosemary potatoes, to die for! The food is also reasonably priced, an eggs benedict costs RM18 and the big breakfast is RM22. Of course you have to try their lattes(its called that latte place for a reason) very yummy indeed! However, as i mentioned earlier, they’ve moved to ikon@connaught. I visited the new outlet once and sad to say i was not at all impressed. I guess what made that latte place so special is that it was in this garden environment which was so zen and made you feel like time is just standing still. The new outlet at Ikon however fails to give you this feel mainly cause its in a mall which makes it no different than any other restaurant. Regardless, they still make the best eggs ben in my opinion and even though the ambience is gone, its still worth a visit and remember to try their lattes too!

This little café is hidden in a garden next to Yayasan Seni. Got to know about this café through one of those ‘top ten breakfast place /café in town’. As an ‘all day breakfast’ craze, I decided to go over to try their breakfast and coffee of course. Finding this place was a little tough because I’m not that familiar with this part of town but still manage to get there with the help of GPS. The café wasn’t as beautiful as portrayed in those pictures I’ve seen people post in the net(must salute their photography skill) which is a little disappointing. It’s okay, I’m her for the food. The café is surrounded by trees and a little hut with shade. It is recommended to come early in the morning or on a cloudy day. Otherwise, it will be too hot and stuffy. Thank goodness I’m there during a cloudy day. The experience of dining in the garden was quite nice and serene. In conclusion, ‘That Latte Place’ have a pleasant dining environment and serves decent food(but not that extraordinary). They are pork free and pet friendly too.
