Got stuck in KL for work… and in the process discovered the beauty that is Colombian coffee. If you’re ever in this area, make a detour and try their coffee. Ask the barista for the specialty coffee — I forgot the exact title but it’s got caramel, and Colombian coffee. I would honestly make the 5 hour trip up there just to get another cup. Cross my heart.

This place has some beautiful coffee set with desert! I just loved it and even when you order coffee you can get a small piece of cookie with it! I really loved the place I think it’s an amazing idea to have a Colombian coffee around, I can’t wait to tell my Colombian friend living in KL about it! I thought the staff were super nice and thew atmosphere was great! i was there on a Saturday and the family atmosphere around me made me really miss my family. I just loved it.

I was looking for a coffee, but I got myself a real experience !! I just randomly stumbled upon this café and I realized that it’s my lucky day, because I discovered something very special! 100% yummy Colombian coffee! Wow! It is fantastic! I couldn’t believe I’ve never heard of this place before! They serve coffee in so many different ways and you have a bunch of different tastes! I am definitely going back no matter how out of the way it is !! Give it a chance !:)

I love The Intermark. It’s posh, estringent, and never crowded. As an office building, naturally there’s a café here. Much different than your usual hispter café, Juan Valdez takes coffee seriously. We love this place for a few reasons: it’s quiet, down-to-earth and the coffees are good. The usual fare like latte, macchiato and cappacino are OKAY but there are definite the supporting act here. For your money, you can first choose the regions of the beans and then the methods like siphon, French press, Chemex and cold drip. Prices are on the high side(RM14 for a latte). There are also some pastries, cakes and a compact breakfast menu that’s very delicious. Again, not cheap.

An awesome discovery for breakfast! Happy to know that great coffee and an ambience such as that at Juan Valdez Café in Intermark is available in this part of KL. The café is an international chain originating from Colombia, which explains why they have such an array of Colombian coffees(and their various methods of brewing) in their menu. My personal recommendation would be the café latte arequipe… an aroma so beautiful and taste just like a coffee should for that time of the morning! All for RM14 for a 9ozs glass(coffees here are served in 2 sizes of 9ozs or 12ozs. I opted for the french toast and my friend had eggs benedict. both yummy! I’d go back there again… real soon.

Heard of Juan Valdez? If you love coffee, then you really should drop by this coffee place in The Intermark. They opened their very first Malaysian branch in The Intermark, biringing you the 100% Colombian coffee experience. Despite being a coffee chain, they were created by Colombia’s National Federation of Coffee Growers to promote their country’s beans through fair-trade policies. They offer 4 types of beans: Huila, Cauca, Santander, and Antioquia; and instead of the usual ways, you can choose to enjoy your coffee brewed using siphon, French press, chemex or dripper 60. Not too sure what to order? No worry! The staffs were very patient in explaining and recommending the beans that we might like. My friend and I wanted something with medium body, so we chose the Cauca using siphon. The coffee was prepared at table side and the barista explained the history of siphon while preparing our drinks. We were told that the siphon could produce approximately 3 cups of coffee, but I felt we had more than that. Joe had the Antioquia using the French press. Even though it is stronger compared to Cauca, I felt Joe’s coffee is milder. If you preferred milk-based coffee, they have selections such as Latte too. Not a coffee lover? They have non-coffee beverages too. We tried the Iced Chocolate — it’s smooth and chocolaty but not too sweet. Apart from coffee, they serve cakes, salad, wraps and many more. So, it’s not just a café but also a place where you can enjoy good coffee over good food. Also, they have some merchandise and coffee beans for sale in the café too. The café is located at Ampang area but it’s very convenient in getting there — stop at Ampang Park LRT station, cross the sky bridge and you’ll reach The Intermark Mall.
