Rakuzen is a Japanese Dining Restaurant, where the price range slightly above average. However, you pay what for what you get. Rakuzen serves fresh and quality Japanese food. For those who worry about the price yet want to give it a try, Rakuzen also serves lunch set and dinner set which offer a more affordable prices, it ranges from RM38 — RM78, come with a main course with side dishes, miso soup and cawanmushi. Some of the set come with fresh sashimi as well, but the price will be slightly higher a bit. Apart from that, Rakuzen also serve all sort of Japanese wine, that you can have a drink while you are enjoying your meal. My usual orders in Rakuzen will be the Unagi rice set that come with Sashimi. Personally I think Rakuzen serves the best Unagi so far, compare with other Japianese Restaurant and they are very generous on giving the Sashimi. Each slice of the sashimi is very thick and fresh, like it can melt in your mouth when you chew. The ambience is very good and quiet as well due to the floor plan design I guess. Recommended! :)

Rakuzen is the go-to place for decent Japanese food. I have a couple of favorite dishes that I would always always order when I’m in rakuzen. My favorite dishes are the dragon roll, the scallop with some very very tasty sauce and their Saba shioyaki set meal. I’m salivating just talking about it. They also have many other dishes that you can order. The salad is pretty good as well. I would prefer the spider roll at sushi zanmai, I somehow think that’s a little bit of a difference. A normal fulfilled meal would cost me about 40−50rm. It’s pretty much for dinner or lunch but it’s for good Japanese food. The service can be quite bad at times when it’s a super full house but the waiters try their best to satisfy all their customers. Wait time during peak hours could be about 20 – 30 minutes so bear that in mind.

Rakuzen is one of the pioneers of Japanese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. If your looking for the better Japanese eateries then head on over to one of their many outlets. This place is constantly packed so unless you’ve made a reservation, you better be prepared to wait, but trust me its totally worth it! The whole outlay of the restaurant gives your a tranquil & relaxing feel with it typical Japanese ornaments & settings. This restaurant offers the common dining area & also private rooms to cater to those who prefer a little privacy for their group/family dinners. Similar to kuriya, the quality of the fresh seafood & ingredients are definitely not compromised here. The fresh goods are air flown on a weekly basis thus guaranteeing the freshness. You would definitely appreciate the wide spread options here at rakuzen. Be sure to try their seafood tempura, soft shell crab rolls & sashimi platter. Their bento sets here are pretty decent as well though the portions a very much smaller than normal. I guess its all about quality then quantity?

Prolly one of the affordable 4 – 5 stars rated japanese restaurants in KL. The portion of food is proportionate to the price. Seafood/sashimi is fresh. They have set during lunch and dinner too! For those who are small eaters, please share with someone if you’re ordering the set. The maki(s) are good too. Love their curry rice though. ;) Overall experience: 4⁄5 Price Rating: 4⁄5(Price = Food portion)

Want to get some Japanese cravings fixed? Then Rakuzen is a good place to visit! Well, it is not the ideal Japanese restaurant but it is good enough especially those who are longing for delicious and authentic Japanese food! In here you will be able to indulge to some good fresh sushi(s). As for me, I had the Teppanyaki Zen. One essential point that I wish to point out is that their portion is quite huge. In a set, you will get the Japanese sticky rice, miso soup, fruits, hot steamed egg, salad, and ultimate serving dish of either beef or chicken. In here, it is almost impossible to say that it doesn’t taste nice! As I indulge myself to great Japanese foods, I can feel the effort that is poured into the dishes as these dishes are near to perfection. There were no flaws in regards to the taste and the representation of the food. Another essential thing I wish to point out is the fact that the service is swift and precise as well as these waiters who have service with a smile. Other than that, Rakuzen has a very good ambience where you are able to request for a private and quiet spot where you’ll be able to dine in peace and harmony. The only downside would be the price as it is very steep especially for the ones who don’t earn a full-time salary. All I can say is that the food and the service is worth every Ringgit that I paid. No regrets; thus I wish to come here again in the near future!

Food: 4⁄5 Décor: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Japanese food is one of my favourite cuisine as they are always delicious and healthy! Raku Zen has quite a few outlets in Klang Valley. I have tried the one in Publika and Subang Jaya SS15. The ambience for both are comparably elegant but casual, so is the quality of food which is pretty consistent. I love sashimi so we ordered salmon and salmon belly which were both equally awesome. I can’t decide which one I like better. Salmon has a smooth and melting texture whereas the salmon belly is a little bit more chewy but not too much! Both are really fresh and without the stinking fish smell. We also had some of their special maki, such as summer roll, dragon roll etc. I would say the overall quality is quite high but i still prefer sashimi over maki. The waiters were helpful and the service was good. I will definitely visit Raku Zen again despite their slightly higher than average price.

In my whole history of reunion or occasional japanese dinners, we end up here. We’ve always liked the service and food here. The food here are always well prepared, especially the fresh sashimi. The price is here can be a little steeper than other places, but the quality is certainly there. If you’re looking to cut down a bit on the bill, have a look at their bento sets, they have a variety of it with a not so scary looking price tag. Do take note on the times you’re planning to visit this outlet as it tends to be packed during peak hours. Sometimes, you have to wait quite a while for your food to arrive even if you got a seat.

This place is always pack with people that i think it has became overrated. The food wise, i wouldn’t say its so good like Ido Ichi or Fukuya but slightly on to the above average level. This is a place to come when it comes to reunion/dinner/and many more and depending what you order my partner and I spend about Rm80 just from bento sets. Outdoor Seating — No

Food: 4⁄5 Décor: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 When I was younger, I didn’t use to like Japanese food at all! The most acceptable Japanese cuisine for me would have been bento as they are most similar to normal Chinese cuisine. However, as I slowly get exposed to really delicious Japanese food, I fall in love with maki, especially those special maki especially those with tempura, softshell crab, salmon and avocado. I must say, Raku Zen serves really mouth-watering maki! I particularly love their dragon roll! It was made of fried king prawn topped with avocado. The presentation looks really cute too! It was shaped like an actual prawn with the maki as its body. Another maki that I highly recommend would be spider roll. It was made of soft shell crab topped with fish roe. Due to my personal fondness of soft shell crab, I just couldn’t say no to this dish. Maki aside, Raku Zen serves really delicious sashimi too! If it wasn’t because of the price, I think I could just have the whole meal based on sashimi. Unfortunately, the price of sashimi does not allow me to indulge in such luxury. Hence, we only ordered a portion of salmon and salmon belly to share. My overall experience in Raku Zen was a really pleasant one. The waiters were attentive and we were given free starters from the chef before we even ordered anything!

In my whole history of Sushi eating(since I’m a crazy sushi fan), Rakuzen is the most expensive sushi house I’ve ever been to but I have to admit that the taste, quality and presentation is top notch. I don’t think I’m being biased but I’ve tried eating cheap sushi, mid class sushi, expensive sushi, sushi you buy from the grocery store… and nothing beats the sushi’s at Rakuzen. The only difference between this place and the other sushi places I go to is that Rakuzen doesn’t serve sweet soy sauce so you have to ask for it. When eating Salmon sashimi or any sushi for that matter, I love mixing my sweet and salty soy sauce to the perfect taste for my dip combo. I normally mix a ratio of 60:40 with 40 being the salty one. I’ve tried eating at Rakuzen when it first opened at Plaza Damas but the one at Publika is right in front of the main entrance facing Chawan restaurant. You wont miss if if you drive in around the mall.
