We were deciding on where to have our next Japanese cuisine as we wanted to try something new other than our usuals. Edo Ichi came into my mind. I’ve been passing by this restaurant for years now, but never really had the intention to eat here. My mother was really fond of the fish tank here and called up just to reserve a table beside it. We came on a Sunday evening, so the parking in Publika was relatively easy and was no hassle at all. We made our way to the restaurant and were shown to our seats. The fish tank is really beautiful though, with colorful fishes and the bluish ambience light from the tank really contributed to the nice interior. We proceeded to order our dishes and find the price a bit on the higher end. Overall, the sashimi was really fresh and the bento set was really good. The Salmon was thick, cold, and has freshness all over it. We also ordered a Beef Teppanyaki set and was satisfied, the stir fry carried an amazing fragrant aroma. The Soft Shell Crab bento came with a side of spicy mayo and it actually is one of favorite meals here that day. The only thing that was a let down was the sushi rolls. They weren’t as tasty and the portion is too small for the price paid. I would say that some of the food was worth paying the higher price, but some were just a no no. Really love the ambience though.

Was here a couple of months ago with some ex-colleagues and Meow. This place is facing the road, Jalan Dutamas. It’s next to the Pappa Rich. So, it’s not that difficult to look for it. They offer set lunches and set dinners, just like any other Japanese restaurants. It’s slightly cheaper than Rakuzen and has different things than them too. Interior design is basic and japanese-y. It’s bit dark in my opinion. When we were here, it was lunch time. So, we went with set lunches. =D I ordered the beef sukiyaki set(I love meat!!) while Meow ordered the chicken katsu set with fried garlic flakes on it. For drinks, green tea as usual. It’s either hot or cold only. The portion of the set is quite normal. Won’t lose to Rakuzen’s. The set includes a side salad, miso soup, rice, dessert(watermelon) and some pickled plums. Overall experience: 3⁄5 Price Rating: 3⁄5(More towards working people’s budget)

Today was my first attempt at Edo Ichi @ Publika and I have to say I am very impressed! Although today was the first time I ever heard of Edo Ichi it has actually been around for a while now and they have managed to maintain their quality of the food. My friend(another foodie btw) highly recommended to try the Gyuniku amayaki(basically grilled beef) which was really amazing you have to order this(RM30). We also shared a salmon teriyaki which was standard size but it did not leave that fishy after taste all which is good. We also shared the soft shell crab salad which was only okay to me but they brought us the wrong dressing it was supposed to come with sesame seed dressing. For my own dish I ordered the Ten don, which is the ebi tempura that comes with rice(RM30). The pricing is a bit more expensive than the average Japanese restaurant but then again you wont be eating average Japanese food. To quote my Uncle«you get what you pay for», a sad but truthful saying. The ambience was very nice with romantic dim lighting and an elegant décor. The restaurant is quite secluded in publika so you might find it difficult locate the restaurant but it’s well worth the hunt. Also you definitely need to have a reservation for dinner as it was packed when we went without one and had to wait 35 mins.

In the vast amount of Japanese restaurants Malaysia has to offer, Edo Ichi is probably one of the better ones out there. Their bentos are renowned to be tasty, and not your typical mainstream meat-and-rice combo that you see around other Japanese restaurants. Their sashimi is so fresh, you can taste the sea, which is awesome. The food in general has amazed me in so many ways, partly because of its freshness and its ability to tingle your senses when the food touches the tip of your tongue, and creates a huge arousing sensation that makes you want more and more. Despite the slightly hefty price, I believe that this restaurant will only become bigger and bigger in the future. Do come here before it becomes a blogger’s haven!

I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant! Although the price is slightly expensive but I would say you got what you paid. They serve fresh and quality food. It is one of my most favorite Japanese restaurant in that area. I love their salmon sashimi so much! It is my must-order food in there, each slice of the sashimi is so thick and so fresh. If you worry about the price of the food there, you may visit during the lunch or dinner hour. The lunch set is only cost about RM30+ which I think it’s quite decent.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Publika and the only Japanese restaurant I eat at in Publika. Edo Ichi is a little higher on the price but they serve their dishes using high quality and fresh ingredients. I love their food cause its good and they are generous with their ingredients like how I usually order sushi here and they give a large piece of fish on top of the sushi rather than a thin small piece of fish. You gotta try their Aburi Salmon Mentai sushi here. They have dinner and lunch set menus as well. I definitely recommend Edo Ichi if you’re around Publika and you’re looking for Japanese food! If you wanna have a lovely dinner in a modern Japanesse restaurant, you can try Edo Ichi, located at the ground floor at Nexus, in Bangsar South The menu has a big variety of food: sushi, pasta, rice, chicken, beef etc. My favourite dish is Yaki Soba/Udon(28RM) and Yuzu Sorbet(12RM). The price was good considering the food, and the service was great. P. S. Of you will visit Penang island you will find the restaurant also there.

Edo Ichi so far is a quite awesome restaurant that I been to, their service is as good as the food, the raw sashimi is super fresh like you just got the fish from the ocean and slice it immediately. Love their service although their food are expensive, but personally think the money worth for such service. probably will come back here for some special ocassion with family :)

This restaurant was a really good find in Bangsar South. Located in the ground floor of Nexus, Edo Ichi is a lovely looking restaurant. It is very modern and the ambiance is quite nice. The menu had a lot of variety for a good price. From noodles, to fried rice and sushi. My personal favorites are the chicken gyoza and the salmon sashimi(which was unbelievably fresh). The service was great! Very friendly and proactive. The price was really good considering the quality of the food, and I will be coming back in the future! Great experience!

My favorite Japanese place around my area! This is what i call an authentic fine dining Japanese food. I love love love every food in this place! Salmon as fresh from the sea, chawanmushi with the perfect hot steamed egg, salmon cooked perfectly and not to mention, great service! Though it may be pricey as one bento set is about 40 plus to 50 but trust me this is so worth it! They even have lunch bento set to feed hungry working people or passers by. It may gets crowded during festive season so please make reservation, its the perfect place for reunions and not to mention the beef is good too. i am a sucker for Japanese food. A definitely a must try when you are in for some good reasonable
