Ori-Udon

Decent to big portion of udon or don dishes, with comparably fair prices. Due to these reasons, that’s also why you would see the usual crowd at this place — even on weekdays. Also, they are serving one of my favorite egg dishes — ontama — here, thumbs up!
Their variety offered here is really wide, thus I could say that I really feel spoilt while deciding between the so many dishes available. One quick tip here — for those who don’t eat beef, while looking at their gyu dishes, you could opt to change it to chicken. Also, for those who don’t eat ontama the way it is, you could request for your egg to be fully cooked — BUT, who doesn’t like the ontama goodness?
Apart from ala carte, you could also go for their set meals here, which some come with fried chicken and some come with salad or other side dishes. With the set also will be their refillable green tea. Getting some decent udon at Mid Valley/​Gardens Mall for under RM20 is really a decent deal — and their udon are freshly made from scratch. So, no more frozen supermarket udon while you’re here.

You would always want your food to be served piping hot and only have your food cold if it was supposed to be serve that way.
Unfortunately, I was supposedly to be served hot udon but it was cold. What I observed that my meal was already prepared but none of the staff decided to bring it over.
I told the waiter that my noodles were cold and asked was it supposed to be like that. He gave me a puzzled look and walked away.
So happened my fiancé ordered something similar and hers was hot. I called the waiter to come and at least heat up than change the whole bowl. He refused!
Angrily I slurped my noodles down, paid and left.

Looking for a snack? this place has awesome Japanese dishes, Kimuchi Chicken with Karaage and Green Tea is just to die for, there s seafood and meat options as well. This place is really chill, I love the design and the tables. The open space isn’t that bad as it’s in a quite area of the food court in the mall so that’s really cool.
Give it a try you will love it! close your eyes and imagine you are in Tokyo! :)

Very often you can get a head — ache when you go to a place and you just don’t understand 80% of the menu.
I had no idea what is UDON before I went to Ori –Udon restaurant with a bunch of my friends.
And when there are 50 x of options of different udons you really just don’t know what to do with yourself. :D
There’s a saying «Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get.» However, I think it should be changed to «Life is like an asian restaurant you never know what you’re gonna get and even after you had it, you might still be not sure.» :D
I still don’t know how to define udon, but I can say that kitsune udon and wakame udon are really nice.
Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things! Even if you don’t know what it is.:)
