A vegetarian/vegan café and a bar. When two worlds collide thus giving a heavenly gift. I got to experience the whole ‘disco lights’ action while savoring a vegan meal, world-win right? The crowd here are mostly Indians and Koreans as well as locals like me. The menu here offers a lot, however, I just went for the Vegan Briyani because I was craving for it. I have to say it’s not that bad. Usually most briyanis are super greasy but this was just fine. The service here was good too. Very attentive staff who are mindful to every customer. The prices here though, are pretty upscale. Meals here could cost you about RM20 or so, sans drinks depending on your order. Plus, the meals here are usually what you’d expect from a ‘mamak’ stall. Other than that, I’d say this place is alright. Definitely different from those generic Indian places.

This place has just opened in Plaza Mon’t Kiara, at the same row of the popular Number76 hair salon. Mumbai Delights is a bar/vegetarian restaurant. I came here during lunch time so I sadly, I didn’t get to see the disco light hanging at the ceiling in action. There are a few beer pitcher there hence I didn’t get to see that used either. The crowd during the afternoon is mostly Indian, Korean and Japanese housewives and some working crowd. The price of the food is almost double the price what mamak food sells so per meal here would be about RM8 to RM20 per meal. I was initially taken aback that the shop sells vegetarian food, but I realized that the vegetarian menu is rather extensive, selling a lot of authentic Indian dishes like vegetarian briyani rice, chapati, Indian bread and so on. The great thing about the meals is the burst of exotic Indian herbs and spices and the creamy yogurt salad it comes with. Instead of the normal tomato and chili sauce, they have a tray of cute sauces in mini glasses of peppermint, garlic sauce, pepper cause, lemon sauce, mango chutney and also some herbal sauce. I’ve tried it all in my briyani rice and every bite offers a different taste, it was rather amusing. If you would like to try something a little different from the generic mamak Indian food store, come here for the great flavours of Indian spices, but prepare to fork out tad a bit more than usual.
