Kinme has some of the thickest pieces of sashimi I have ever had. The toro was incredible and the hand crafted plum wine was a perfect compliment. Highly recommend!

Let me give you a brief description here and make sure that you would wanna visit it. This is a Japanese cuisine restaurant. The rice bowl is awesomely good. Bursting with flavor and texture with every bite. The chicken skin grill is surprisingly good. Do order their eggplant because their serving is really generous. Sit by the bar and the chef shares his stash of rare goods! He imported a mini Japanese Mango for RM300. Of course we didn’t try it but it’s amazing to know they have such things. The wall on the bar has jars and jars of infused fruits with soju. And they have a different offering each day. The bill came up to about RM150 for 3 person. Not too bad in my opinion when food here taste so great. And with the recent GST hoohah, they have included it in the price and removed service charge. Do tip on the side though, cause they are worth it.

I first visited this restaurant in October last year and since then I frequent it on a regular basis. Unlike in other Japanese establishments — thankfully — the staff forego the gratuitous, grating greetings that one is always subjected to It has a nice relaxed atmosphere coupled with great fusion Japanese food and draught Japanese beer. I could not ask for more. I wasn’t a fan os Sashimi, until I discovered this place, when I had the best Sashimi dish ever. But I always like to mix it with sushi and Japanese soup. The atmosphere of the place is quiet, clean and modern. The service is personal and impeccable. Perfect!!! The price of the meal is decent, but not cheep. I like to go here, once every month, because of the service and food. Verdict: Utmost attention is paid to the quality and preparation of the ingredients, ensuring that original flavours are not compromised. A little pricey, perhaps, but worth every sen and more

In my opinion, Japanese rice bowls make for the best lunch, and at Kinme, they do it well. You can’t go wrong with the teriyaki salmon on rice which somes with lots of rice, fish coated in sweet teriyaki sauce and a side salad of cucumber and cubed sashimi. The nigiri sushi platter is nice too and matches the quality of sushi you’d get at a fancy Japanese place. Apparently, the chef used to be from Iketeru so I suppose that explains it. In terms of set-up, Kinme is rather narrow and small. It won’t accommodate large parties, but I suppose it’s good enough for a neighbourhood sushi joint. And it’s modern as well, which is a change from the more traditional Japanese places in Hartamas or Mont Kiara. Next time you crave rice bowls or some decent sushi, Kinme will do the job.

Did I mention I love sushi? Oh I really love sushi and this place has exceeded my expectations. This was my dinner surprise on Valentine’s day and boy was I surprised. The place is small, it took us a little bit to find it but it was all worth it. The décor is simple but classy so I definitely suggest you check it out. Living in Canada, sushi spots are all over the place, all you can eat sushi too. So suffice to say that I was missing a good sushi restaurant so when I arrived her I was beyond excited. The Spider Temaki was by far the best crab roll I have ever had. In terms of cost expect to pay a little more than your average sushi spot. The whole cost for the two of us, after 6 dishes, was RM120. All in all I really enjoyed it and will probably go back again. Bön Appétit!
