CoCO Ichibanya in 1 Utama is located at Oasis Square(New Wing), directly opposite Kluang Station. Coco Ichibanya offers Japanese style curry and they have a maximum of 7 levels of spiciness for you to choose from. Go for the Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry if you have zero tolerance towards spicy food. The cutlet was fried to perfection — crispy on the outside yet the meat was still moist. Have some cash to slurge? Go for the Wagyu Beef Steak Curry(Level 2), which doesn’t have too big difference on the spiciness but you get to enjoy some juicy and tender beef. If you like your food creamy and spicy, the Creamed Mushroom Omelette Curry(Level 3) would be a good choice — it’s vegetarian too! Feeling a little adventurous? Opt for the Grilled Squid with Mayonnaise Curry(Level 4). You’ll get both perfectly cooked squid and spicy curry gravy. If you can really take spicy food, do request for additional curry sauce and let them know your preferred spicy level. Not too sure what level to go for? Try the Beef Yakiniku Curry then. It has a standard spicy level and a good way to gauge how spicy you like the curry to be too.

The curry is nice and I like that it has varying levels of heat intensity for the curries. Seating isn’t so good for young kids and larger groups.

Fast-food type restaurant. If you’re looking for decent Japanese food I don’t think this would be the place. Came here after a movie for dinner and ordered the Tuna salad which was just a bunch of greens, 3 – 4 cherry tomatoes and a spoonful of tuna. The bf ordered the chicken curry rice with sausage add on and the sausages were way too oily and pathetically small in size. Not worth the price tags. Service was alright — although the lady at the counter was friendly when we went up to pay, the waiter we had didn’t speak much english and it was quite frustrating when we were trying to ask questions about the menu as it was our first time trying CoCo Ichibanya. The only good thing I can think of is thay they serve alcohol and I had a bottle of refreshing beer to go with my meal. Try this place if you haven’t yet and then decide for yourself. Personally didn’t like it — was too pricey for the amount and quality of food you get. I heard it originated from Japan and wonder if they Japan outlets serve the same quality of food — quite disappointing!

You find yourself in the mall and want to try some curry dishes? Well search no more. Curry house got you covered. The restaurant is originally from Japan and its famous for its curry dishes. The staff at the restaurant is pleasant and courteous. The restaurant seems pretty busy generally so do plan accordingly. The dishes offered cover everything from pork, chicken to salmon and more. They even allow you to choose the spicy level and the rice portion size. The cost is around RM20 and the service is pretty good. You can add extra sauce, rice and toppings for under RM3. One thing I really loved is that they have smoothies fro RM4 and blended juices form RM3.5 Its definitely worth checking out so enjoy.

Ichibanya is a popular chain from Japan famous for their curry. I for one am glad that they have arrived on our shores as I am a big curry lover. My favourite part is that they serve pork! Excitement levels are through the roof here. When we came for lunch a few weeks ago, it was crowded. Nevertheless the servers were courteous and efficient. Once there was a space available they promptly lead us there with menus. Looking through the menu, I was impress by the degree of customisation allowed to your meal. My sister, a notorious small eater, liked that you could ask for a smaller portion of rice. Its the little things really. As for me I was happy I could choose the spiciness level. Its a great idea as everyone has different preference. Aside from pork cutlet, they also serve chicken, salmon, prawn and many more. I’d say this guarantees a second visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as did my sister. At RM21, it is slightly pricier than the usual but worth it.
