My friend introduced me to Kim Kee when both of us were craving for chicken rice around Ampang. It is easy to find because it is a corner shop among the other Malay restaurants. The parking spots around that are is rather limited. In the afternoon, the place is packed with people but there are still seats available to accommodate everybody. The cleanliness of the place is so-so since it is a street restaurant. So far there are no cockroaches or rats running around, only cigarette butts laying around the floor. The chicken rice was alright, indifferent from other chicken rice but still tasty. You are able to choose between steamed or roasted but usually by afternoon, the steamed chicken are sold out. The chicken and rice are in separate plates and they only offer one or two slices of cucumber. The portion is quite big. I always remember feeling extra full whenever I have my brunch there. As for the price, it is average.

This place had probably got the best Nasi Ayam around Ampang. I love coming here to get my Nasi Ayam fix super yummy and so worth the calories! The only thing i dread about coming here is because of the heat and parking. Ive actually sweat buckets from eating here. And parking is difficult to fund especially during lunch time on weekdays. So usually i’d just do take away and enjoy this delicious at the comfort of my own home whilst getting some work done on the lappy. Hooraah!

This chicken rice shop that’s located in a ‘medan selera’(food court) beside Petronas Ampang is probably one of my favorite places to go for chicken rice. It’s fairly popular among those familiar with the area, so on some days it can get pretty busy, especially during peak lunch hours. Parking then can sometimes be a problem. Service is quite fast, but you might have to wait for a place to sit. The chicken rice here is halal — you can either choose the steamed or roasted. I always go for roasted chicken breast, which comes with taugeh/bean sprouts — and oh so yummy! The free soup that comes with the chicken rice is also tasty. I usually go for the simple iced Chinese tea(because this place is quite hot) — and it all adds up to a perfect lunch.
