It seems like rather than reviewing YCAT it would make more sense to review the services that YCAT offers, since YCAT itself is just a small, clean bus station with vending machines, washrooms, souvenirs, and a ticket-counter(plus a Starbucks and a convenience store immediately outside). So review the services it is. It’s so nice to be able to dump your bags and get to/from Haneda and Narita directly from Yokohama Station with such frequent service. And, in my experience, the bus is pretty consistently on time. They have contingency plans for traffic(getting off the expressway and using surface streets), so there’s no guarantee they won’t be on time, but you’ve got a fairly good chance of it. Yes, there’s a direct train to Narita but it’s more expensive and less frequent. And after you get off a long flight, it’s so nice to be able to walk directly out of customs walk 1 minute directly in front of you, buy a ticket, walk out the door next to you, and get on a bus, with no more than a 10 or 15 minute wait rather than wend your way down to the train station, wait in line to buy a ticket(unless you can figure out the vending machines), and then wait 20 or even 30 minutes for the next direct train. And from Haneda, the bus to/from YCAT is almost certainly the quickest and easiest for those living/staying in central Yokohama. Pro-tip 1: The bus to/from Haneda(*not* Narita) takes Suica and Pasmo(even if there’s a late night/early morning surcharge), so you don’t need to bother with the vending machine if you have one. Pro-tip 2: During much of the day, there’s a less frequent bus to the Minatomirai area, which could be more convenient for those in hotels/living in that area if you time it right and can figure out where the stops are. **If you’re using YCAT during early morning/late night hours, you have to enter from the outside, so look up where the entrance is and allow a little extra time.
