My route to hike Mt. Kurama is to start from Kibune –guchi Station(one station away). From Kibune-guchi follow the river towards Kibune Shrine. Visit the shrine before going up to Mt. Kurama. Walking along the river during Autumn is really beautiful and the view when you reach the top is also very scenic. Very colorful. Spring is also very nice with all the Cherry Blossoms around the Kurama Temple. During Autumn, there is a light up along the route back/from Demachiyanagi. They turn off the train’s light so that you can enjoy the full color of Autumn. I did not know that they have this kind of event on Eizan line so it was a really nice surprise. The hike from Kibune to Kurama is a little bit steep, but not difficult. You can borrow stick at the entrance of either side of the mountain and leave it at each side too.
