[ October 2015 ] A great, intimate restaurant with friendly staff. The food is fantastic and they have dark chocolate soufflé as a dessert option. How could you go wrong? Check it out!

We had a great meal here — great in terms of service, ambience and the food was pretty good too. I liked the choice of non-pasta main courses! I had the involtini and J had the pasta nostra. He was so impressed(and worried it would cease to be a special) he followed up with the spaghetti carbonara. I had the almond pannacotta — and thanks to a Unilocal deal– we got two complimentary glasses of Zibibo. We also had a bottle of sparkling water and a litre of house wine(½ white and ½ red) bringing the bill to € 60. Good value.

Excellent family owned restaurant close to the Colosseum. Service is friendly and fast. I highly recommend the pasta with mussels & porcini mushrooms, seabass and swordfish second courses. For dessert, try the almond panna cotta. The house red wine is perfecto. Try to sit outside on the front patio if weather permits.

Great restaurant near Via de Urbana & Milano! The Bruschetta was fantastic, the Truffle Pesto Pasta was incredible. The Cabonara was also very good, but a bit heavy on the richness. We also had a beef and mushroom dish, that was good, but was lacking the unique flavor of the rest of the dishes. We finished off with the Moro in Camarisini(?) was a perfect ender to the meal, the light almod whip surrounding a warm chocolate lava cake was perfectly balanced! I mis-read the 44 € bill as 99 €, and our very honest waiter brought back all the excess! Wait staff were very friendly, and checked on us if we looked in their direction. Update– back for a second meal since we have not had better in Rome after 8 days. I had to have the truffle pesto pasta again with a glass of the house red, it was perfect. My wife had the Nostra Pasta, it too was excellent. I decided to try a different desert, and went with the Bianco Mangarie, it was an almond crème flavored desert drizzled in a raspberry sauce, it was excellent. My wife and I agreed, this place had the best pasta dishes in the Monti area of Rome! Throw in a drink and an order of bruschetta, the meal was € 34. A great deal for the level of quality they produce!

Nettes kleines Lokal mit übersichtlicher, aber sehr leckerer Karte. Die Carbonara war hervorragend. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und auch der bereits zuvor erwähnte etwas muffelige Chef bemüht. Preis-Leistung stimmt!

This was amazing! Family owned, superb service, and the food was phenomenal. My family and I stumbled upon it by accident and we were so happy. My husband had the lemon/sausage pasta, my dad and I had the mussel/mushroom pasta and my mom had an appetizer. I can completely tell you that everyone’s dishes were SOGREAT! After being sick of basic Italian food for two weeks strait, this was a treat! And not even expensive either! EATHERE :)

Excellent choice. We had bruschetta and chicory starters and the Sea Bass and the Pasta Al Carbonera as our main courses. All were delicious and different from the usual northern Italian fare we have had so far on our trip to Rome. Our server Allesio was great very attentive and friendly. His English is perfect. We had several liquor courses too and all of our wine and Limoncello were excellent. We will return.

Best pasta carbonara I’ve had! It was delicious as was the Sicilian style bruschetta and the chicory appetizer. Delicious and different. Dessert was also a hit — we had a chocolate almond flour cake at the recommendation of our server, Alessi. I have to say he was a huge part of the positive experience we had. He was pleasant, knowledgable and fluent in at least three languages which was a great plus for him explaining the dishes to us. I would definitely recommend. It’s off the beaten path but an easy walk and not far off a main drag of Via Cavour.

Endlich mal keine Touriabzocke!

Ordered pork with fried tomatoes and olives as my main, while my friends had pastas as their mains. Standard place for a meal tastewise, but unless you have a stomach the size of a small pillbox, don’t bother ordering the pork and go for the pasta instead. Either that or you’ll have to do what I did instead, which was go out for another kebab to satisfy your hunger. € 12 for 2 pork loins(rather, pork slices similar in size to a baby’s hand), however well executed, is a sick joke.

Lemon sausage egg pasta– too much lemon in sauce but pasta perfect. Fettucini with mussels and mushrooms– again slightly fishy sauce but pasta perfectly cooked.

Excellent Italian restaurant with a Sicilian note in the heart of Monti. An area dominated by traps for tourists and fake Trattorias. Not in this case! A very modestly priced quality oriented Sicilian place. You will probably not find all the classics of Rome, but for sure a great pasta con le sarde, pasta con la mollica, or caponata. Even the classic bruschetta is well made and unexpectedly inexpensive! Good the white house wine, very good espresso, pleasant grappa! Nice and personal service. If you want to eat outside reserve in advance, the place is relatively small. For an antipasto, a pasta, abundant wine, water, espresso, grappa and a shared cassata we spent 25 €: not the cheapest considering we had not meat nor fish, but definitely not too much for the high care of the food preparation, the kind service, the pleasure for the palate.

We decided to try this place based off Unilocal reviews. I read a few comments about the food taste and most are spot on. This wasn’t the best meal we had in Rome and I am not sure I would go back. It was a decent meal overall. The service was good and we ordered some wine, the spinach cannoli appetizer, the shrimp and zucchini pasta, and the sausage lemon pasta. The appetizer was good. The sesame seeds and honey were good accents. The shrimp pasta was a bit underwhelming. It had a very green taste and almost an overwhelming fish taste… which is strange because shrimp doesn’t usually have that fishy taste. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great quality. The sausage and lemon pasta was good but too salty. It was missing something to balance it out. Not a bad place but overall not for foodies who like bold and balanced flavors.

Our waitress Alaydia was very attentive. We each chose a pasta dish. The lemon sausage pasta with parmigiana was very good. White and red wine by the glass was fantastic. They made some spaghetti with pomodoro sauce for the kids. Very accommodating.

This is a fantastic place for traditional Sicilian style dishes. Came here with a small group of friends around 7pm the first night we were in town and got the whole place to ourselves. It turned out we were too early for dinner. It was a good thing since we got to interact with the owner quite a bit, who is a funny guy in his own right. Got a lot of suggestion from him and the dishes we ordered were among the best Italian I’ve ever had. The price is also very reasonable. I noticed that customers who came in while we were there were mostly local people. In any case, I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

I really wish I could give this place a better rating bc of all the other great reviews and the fact that we walked a few miles to get here. The Best– my husband really enjoyed the«Surprise» dessert which was a very yummy cannoli. Our house red wine was delicious. I enjoyed my spaghetti with lemon butter sauce. 2 first course, 2 entrée, full bottle of wine, sparking water, and 2 desserts was 59 euro. Pretty good price. The Okay– It was hard to the spinach filled crêpe. It was too sweet and bland at the same time if possible. My pane cotta dessert was also bland and really thick, almost hard. The Bad– Both entrees were overly salty. My meat roll was chewy and hard to swallow and the tomato sauce was unappetizing. My husbands chicken had an okay texture but just not good. I would go some where else.

The food was delicious, we starters with the crêpe with spinach and honey. Strange but yummy. We also shared a salad and fettuccine mussels, the mussels were not in shells but seemed fresh none the less. Service wasn’t fantastic, as we had to order our drinks a few times before they came. But food price and location was well worth it

We’ve been in Rome for 3 days, this is the first time we actually feel we gotten a good meal. It’s hard to find good food in Rome, glad we found this restaurant — thank you Unilocal you never fail us.

We are staying at an inn and I Unilocaled restaurants. This came up in search with good reviews so I took my kids here. It’s along the little street by several hotels but doesn’t seem to be a tourist trap. The owner was there as well as his son, who talked to us about where we were visiting from. When I was ordering, the owner asked if I just wanted to get a simple pasta for the kids(something not on menu) and he would make it. I ordered a mushroom pasta for one and spaghetti for the other. I ordered the beef with porcini mushrooms. I tried both of my kids’ pastas and they were excellent. My beef was excellent. They were both nice, and when the son noticed that I was obsessively taking pictures both with my dslr and phone, he asked if he wanted a pic together by the Xmas tree and took it for us. Then it turns out the lady eating there with her friends was his mom. The whole family was there and was so nice. The food was delicious. If you’re staying near that area(cesare balbo) I highly recommend this plAce. I love that I could just ask for very simple things for my kids(that weren’t on the menu). And the family is so friendly! Love. I asked if they would pack something to go because my husband was too tired to come out. He said yes, but that they didn’t have any plastic forks because i think Italian restaurants aren’t like in the US, and don’t normally do take out and people don’t bring leftovers home. He gave me their silverware anyway, and I said I’d bring it back but he said it’s ok, it’s only a fork.(Gonna bring it back and eat there again!) so accommodating. Come here! It’s small and quiet and delicious.
