Order the chicken tikka masala — the sauce had very little flavor, chicken was chewy, and the consistency of the masala was oily and gritty. Not sure how this place has so many positive reviews.

Visiting Rome from the US, and was looking for a good Indian restaurant for a NYE dinner. This place lived up to the great reviews almost till the very end. Good service, good food, and lovely ambience. However when I tried to use the 20% discount coupon advertised on Unilocal for first-​time visitors, I was told that I couldn’t use it because I did not «book via Unilocal». To clarify, there is clearly no way to «book via Unilocal» as you can see, Unilocal asks you to call for a reservation which is what I did. Additionally, I was asked to check-​in to the restaurant on my Unilocal phone app in order to use the 20% discount, which I also duly did at the beginning of the meal. This almost seems like they look for reasons to not provide the advertised discount… Which in this case they never will since you technically can’t make a reservation directly via Unilocal.Sorry for the long story, but I can’t appreciate a restaurant that won’t honor an advertised discount. First and last visit.

Really nice change from all the pasta we’ve been eating. Also, the location lets you get away from some of the crowded tourist spots. The family that runs the place is nice. The food is good and portions are the perfect size. They also have a coupon for first time visitors! All in all, nice restaurant with good food and ambiance.

Great atmosphere, food was delicious! Very kind service. You must order the samusa. The design of the place is very authentic, like eating in India!

Awesome food. Not expected this in Rome. Quick delivery, decent portions, almost authentic and decently priced.

This was a very pleasant change of pace after eating pasta and pizza almost exclusively during our 12 days in Italy. The food is very good and authentic as well. We started with the samosas and they were great, the pastry was crisp yet doughy and the stuffing was very flavorful. The tamarind and mint chutneys are amazing and are a must try with the samosas. Next we ordered the eggplant Bertha and lamb vindaloo with rice and the Kerala paratha for dinner. The lamb vindaloo was some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The meat was spicy and the gravy was very flavorful. The eggplant Bertha was also seasoned well and tasted great. Overall the service and the food were well above expectation. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Indian food in Rome.

Very good food — Definitely one of the best you can find in Rome. But 5 star goes extremely nice and hospitable hosts. The food was quintessential Punjabi in taste. The chefs hail from Punjab and Jammu (North Indian states), so obviously, the food was every bit authentic in taste and very freshly cooked. I was bowled over by Tamarind Chutney — this is a must must try.
A little anecdote to display the hospitality of the hosts, and the reason I wish I could have given more than just 5 stars:
After finishing our lunch, when we came out of the restaurant, and were disappointed to see that it was pouring heavily. So we waited in a nearby nook for a while, but the downpour didn’t relent. Half-​soaked and little chilly, we decided to go back to the restaurant and have a cup of tea and wait for a while while the rain stops. We went back and ordered some. It was very authentic Indian Chai, and didn’t taste like one those hopeless ready-​made teabag teas. And when we got up to leave, and asked for bill, the host just refused, and said, ‘it’s fine sir’.
Offering tea to a guest is an unshakable part of Indian culture, but seeing it being followed oversees, was a heart-​warmer!

Fantastic! After traveling through Italy for a week, I just couldn’t eat any more pasta. This place saved my taste buds. It was so incredibly good. We got vegetable korma, aloo matar, and rice. Everyone was friendly, and the outdoors eating isn’t more expensive.

Visited this cute Indian Restaurant 10 days ago on our vacation in Rome. Really glad we found the place because the food was tasty, authentic, and ambiance was great. We were there with our 2 teen age sons and we all loved the subjis and appetizers we ordered. Service was also great as we were personally attended by Nandita, the owner who runs the place. She was very accommodating with the level of spices we needed for our food as well as the taste that we requested for the dishes for teenage boys. There were many other groups in the restaurant at 7pm, so I can tell that people were at this restaurant for a good time and good food.
The restaurant has seating inside and outside, so we had the option of sitting inside the air-​conditioned area as it was a hot day. The place is well-​decorated and has a contemporary feeling to it. Food was served hot and with the right taste with 2 – 3 subjis that we had ordered. We also had a good chat with the owner lady during our dinner so it felt like a personalized experience for us. In fact, she recommended a couple of places to visit in Venice since we were heading to Venice the next day.
Overall, we would definitely recommended Indian Affairs if you want to go for some authentic Indian food (and tired for easting pasta/​pizza after a few days :)~!!!

Very good! The vegetable korma and the aloo gobi were fantastic. Oh and I didn’t mind stuffing my face with the naan.
As a mark of a truly good place, I attempted to order a «lime soda» and the waiter refused. He said it was not good/​not worth it, so I stuck with water.
I almost forgot, the samosa was great too!
Don’t miss this place if you want something different in Rome

Great food and service. Came here after eating Italian food for a week and was craving a different cuisine. I would recommend there kadai chicken and daal/rice…Dishes were priced well too, about 9 euro a dish. Very close to Rome life hotel as well.

Excellent food!!! We eat Indian food in the states so we had high expectations. Luckily our expectations were met and exceed. This is probably one of the best Indian restaurants we have ate at. The service was so quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The owner was very nice as well! We ordered a lot of food and everything was great. All dishes were reasonably priced.

We had friends that said they tried Krishna 13 and liked it but we read a Unilocal review by Sunil M about this place and decided to give it a try.
Service — I have found that service in general in Rome is much different than in the states. However, this place had great service for Rome. I think the restaurant is owned by Punjabi family and one of them made sure that my wife vegetarian requests were accommodated.
Food — we got three dishes, two naan, and a bottle of wine. For the three dishes we got Butter Paneer, Saag Paneer and Chicken Tikka masala. All three dishes were wonderfully prepared. We especially liked the butter paneer. We planned to take a taxi back to our hotel but we kept eating after we were full so we decided to walk back. The jeera rice had an awesome flavor (not just basmati rice with some jeera). We would highly recommend this place if you are tired of pasta and want something different.
Atmosphere — the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. It’s very dimly lit and real candles provide alot of the light. The music is nice and soft and adds to the experience.
Price — I out the price as 25 euros per person but I thought it was relatively cheap for a bottle of wine plus two naan and three dishes.

After having pizzas and pastas for a whole week we were craving for some Indian food. Chanced upon this hidden gem in Rome. The owner whose name is Honey served is very authentic and flavorful food. He even changed the wine for me. We had delicious dal tadka and chicken tikka masala and roasted papad.

By the time we were in Rome, we were craving Indian food, especially with all the walking around all day. Anyways, we found Indian affairs on Tripadvisor. Rome has a ton of Indian restaurants so the choice can be confusing. We were very happy with Indian Affairs.
Firstly location, it was easy to find as it was right opposite Hotel Royale which is right off Via Nationale. Secondly this place remains open late, which was a major benefit, as we used to have dinner around 10pm after seeing so many sites that Rome has to offer. Thirdly, this is an authentic north Indian place, run by Punjabi people. The wait staff was friendly and spoke Punjabi, Hindi, English and Italian.
Their portions are medium, prices are reasonable and taste is good. We are not big eaters but had left overs everyday and had it on the next day. Over the course of two days, we tried several dishes like Samosas, Kadai paneer, Daal, Biryani, Naan and Chhole. The Paneer and Daal were really my favorite. I have had much better Biryani at Hyderabadi places in India and USA. The Naan was and Chhole were average as I did have higher expectations on those dishes from a North Indian joint. The place seemed packed on Sunday and Monday night with locals and tourists alike. They have outside seating as well. The service was friendly but slow (probably appropriate from Italian standards). They were nice enough to pack our left overs for us but they do charge € 2 for take away containers. Ambiance is really nice and I like the décor and music a lot. I’d go here again!

7 Jul 13. It’s only been open for a month so cab drivers/​hotel may not know about it. Read 2 X reviews in «Where Rome» so we tried it. Staff all spoke English. Menu was in English as well. Ordered Butter Chicken w/​Basmati and Tikka and rice w/​cumin. Meal started with papadums and 3 spreads. € 15 for a bottle of Chianti. Butter Naan was very good. Main dishes were very good. Total cost was € 50. Would have been more adventurous on the spicy fare but for the heat outside. Chatted with the owner about their plans for quite some time after the meal. Recommended. We’ll be back again.
