Service was good, price was very reasonable and food was good. Nothing will blow your socks off but it’s hearty, yummy food. The waitstaff are very friendly and it’s off the normal tourist path so that was really nice.

The food prices here were low to medium for Rome. The service and atmosphere felt authentically Italian. The waiter spoke no English, which made it fun to try and order in my broken Italian. The downfall is the food just wasn’t special and the wine was over priced. The pasta giovanni(which sounds like a specialty) is just linguini with red sauce and peas. The Chicken Milanese was good but it was literally a flatten breaded chicken breast with nothing else. Bottom line, if you are staying in the area, dont feel like venturing out, and dont mind rather blasé Italian fare for a reasonable price try this place out.

Looks like a great, authentic restaurant. The spaghetti with meat sauce was okay. My husband and I both ordered veal and received chicken instead. His said it was served over potatoes which were actually French fries on the side. Mine was served with canned mushrooms and frozen peas. I’m fairly certain the waiter was able to speak English, but chose not to in order to avoid our questions about the veal. The food was edible, but would could have prepared a better meal ourselves. I would not recommend eating here.

DONOTEATHERE(Rick Steves book on Rome is WRONG!!!) Canned peas and mushrooms were the highlight of the veal scaloppini! The tortellini taste like it came from frozen pre-packaged fast food. The bread was at least two days old. The owner(we assumed) kept running across the street to jaw jack and play scratch Lotto with his friends rather than attending to the restaurant and guests. This place may have been good years ago, but now it has lousy food and is all about making BIG bucks off tourist. The wait staff drags people in off the street and before you know it you are screwed. DONOTEATHERE!

I read the reviews for this restaurant on both TripAdvisor and Unilocal before I considered it. Clearly, something has changed in the last year. This restaurant needs a good general manager, wait staff, and a new chef. I made reservations for a large family party of all ages, bambinos included. I was assured they had adequate seating including baby chairs. I confirmed our reservation. When our party arrived(on time) the tables were not set up. There seemed to be a total lack of comprehension as to how to handle a family meal. The food was substandard. When I go to a «restaurant» I want a dining experience I cannot get at home. I ordered a veal dish. It sounded delicious… what was plopped in front of me should not happen to veal. It was a mélange of canned peas, canned mushrooms, some kind of brown sauce and thankfully tender pieces of meat. Needless to say I did not stay for the dessert course. The wait staff seemed to completely out of their element. Save your hard earned Euros and go somewhere else.

Of all the places that we ate in Rome, this was by far the worst service and food that we had. We had a party of 13 that ate here. After eating here, each one of us wondered why this place was even crowded. Service — utterly awful. Here are some complaints: — They had a major shortages of menus. For our party, we received 3 menus. However, as we were reading them, the waiter(owner) would run over, grab our menu and give them to the next table. He did this repeatedly to «ALL» tables. No apologies. nothing. — When food was brought out, they just tossed it on the table. They managed to «hit» my mother’s head with several of the dishes. I was just steaming with anger requesting that they do not do this. — Hardly any silver ware was set on our tables. We had to asked for silverware. — Waiter was absolutely rude. Wanted our orders«ASAP». Like the soup nazi Food — again, if I had to call it, it was purely«shit». Honestly, it was worst then crap. — Called the Spaghetti Borgenese(meat sauce) — spaghetti was not fully cooked(hard in the middle). tasteless meat sauce. It was bland and yuck — Grilled Pork — unreal. No taste, needed salt. Tasted like WOOD. — Side of mushrooms — it was basically canned«short stemmed» mushrooms sautéed in butter. It was horrific There were other dishes; however, they were just as bad. My recommendation is to stay away from this place. I have never been so disgusted with the service and the food at any restaurant in my life. If I could, I would put a «negative» rating to this piece of crap place.

What a wonderful place. The food is great and prices are so reasonable. And the service is friendly, accommodating. It is New Rochelle’s new little secret.

my husband and I came for dinner based on Rick Steve’s Italy 2013 guidebook it is close to our hotel near Metro Termini Station quiet atmosphere, well lit we were quickly seated simple, unpretentious menu, traditional Italian dishes without fanfare very reasonable prices we ordered 1. pasta al pomodoro, 6 € penne pasta cooked al dente light tomato sauce, more citrus than sweet, adorned with single basil leave my husband liked the dish, as he says simple is sometimes best 2. roasted veal, 9 € three very tender veal slices in au jus with side of perfectly seasoned and roasted potato wedges we all agree that this is the dish to get the veal is good, but the potato stole the show 3. Mont Blanc(home made cake), 4 € this is not a sponge cake base consists of layered puff pastry with chocolate, top with very heavy cream this cake is overly sweet table charge for bread, 2 € waiter will hand tally amount and present check at table will give change and wait for tip the amount of «grazie» verbalized by the waiter is directly proportional to the amount of your tip (This entry was written by my husband)

Authentic and low key, delicious 5 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine for € 71! The food itself was not gourmet, but quite satisfying after a long day walking the streets of Rome. Also, the house dessert(have no idea what it is called) was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten.

We had an excellent dinner. The owner was very friendly. There were several locals eating there as well. The food an service were excellent. We had several dishes off the menu and all were very good. They open at 7 for dinner and service is excellent with excellent service.

This resto was recommended in my guidebook and was walkable from our hotel. I felt that everyone in there had read the same book — it was almost 100% tourists. So much for the«eating with locals» angle. Of my 3 dinners in Rome, this was the low point. All I can say is it was relatively inexpensive. Our tab was just under 60 dollars. The service was slow and the food was mediocre. We had bottled water, dreadful house wine, bread, 2 primi piatti and 2 secondi piatti and one dessert. SO. A lot for the money, but I was expecting a little local color per the guidebook and other reviews here. And I am someone who would rather have something I like and pay for it rather than something just because it is inexpensive. So if you have a family to feed and your funds are low, this might just be the place. Otherwise, it is just OK.

If you are looking for the finest food in all of Rome, this is not the place. However, if you are looking for an authentic, locals only, restaurant that serves solid, yet reasonably priced food – this is your destination. I enjoyed a wonderful caprese salad, pasta dish, veal steaks, and a slide of homemade cake. I thought the veal was wonderfully prepared with a crispy pan sear, yet juicy on the inside. The big surprise of the night was the homemade cake. It looked like a cake your grandmother would make, but it packed a punch of big flavour. Come early(before 8pm) or be prepared for a queue.

I loved this place. In my quest to eat where the locals eat we watched the uniformed men and little old Italian ladies walk in so we followed. Our waiter had to be pushing 80, he was too cute in his white jacket. There was a little old lady cooking in the kitchen… I couldnt wait to order… For my pasta I had the pasta da giovanni which was tagiatelle in a tomato sauce with peas and a touch of cream. It was fabulous. I tasted everyone’s dishes in my family from fish to veal… I must say it was great. I had veal milanese, tender, it needed the lemon juice, the spinach was perfect, salad looked delicious as well. Italy is a great place to eat, you cant go wrong here, but this place is very attentive service, GREAT house red wine and a great value pricewise.
