The chef was so kind as to reply to my text about msg. It’s true that msg is naturally occurring in so many things so he really had my best interest at heart when recommending what he KNEW to be safe. He said if I call ahead next time he’d have a safe, delicious dish waiting for me. How very very nice. Thank you.

I won’t comment on the venue because the entertainment was so disappointing, I won’t mention the name but he was so off key we could barely recognize the hits he is famous for. This review is for our waiter, Jacob, who was on point with all his service. Prompt, courteous and professional. Food was okay and hope to return for a try again with better entertainment.

My daughter and I were there on Saturday night for dinner and to hear the Bitter Liberals. The food and service were both excellent. The band was good; however, the standout was the opening act, Charles Arthur, who also played with the band during their sessions. Charles is wonderfully talented and can play almost any instrument, which added a lot to the band’s performance. Hope that the Tin Pan will consider having Charles and his talented group of friends to be the main event sometime soon. Will definitely go back to this place.

More bar snacks and apps– I beg you. But the rotating menu is awesome and the waitstaff is great. I hope more acts like Howie Day come through!

Nikki at the bar is great. Friendly with no pretension. Clean, modern and welcoming interior. Can’t wait to come back for the food and music.

Had a great company holiday party at the Tim Pan. Kevin recommended a few entertainers, and we went with Bryce McCormick who was wonderful at the piano and vocals. Entertained us all. We had wonderful hors d’oeuvres and bartenders. I would highly recommend having a fun and casual event here.

We have the good fortune to have a restaurant that serves good food and has terrific music. Of perhaps all the places I’ve reviewed, this is one that I sincerely hope continues to do well. It’s a great venue for music. There are no bad seats. I noted the capacity at 180, so I think you can see that it’s not little but a nice size w/a very nice layout. The sound system is a 10/it’s excellent. I was pleasantly surprised how good both the food and service was. We had a terrific server. They have Mon. as open mike night and they have music each night and a lots of outstanding acts. I’ll be going as often as I can. It’s just north of Regency Mall and it’s attractive. Very impressed, wish I’d been there before Fri night. I’ll make up for it. Last night we were w/a group had had a great time. If you like music I assure you will see they have something for everyone above 21.

Last week my mom and I had a girl’s night and went to the Elliott Yamin show at The Tin Pan! How awesome it was to see such a great, intimate show right in our own backyard. I’ve been a huge fan of The Tin Pan’s concept since they first opened and have enjoyed my previous experiences there, however I have to say that this last time wasn’t my favorite visit. The process of buying tickets and making the dinner reservation was easy peasy. We ended up with a great seat right at the front of the stage. We made our reservation for 6:30pm which gave us plenty of time to eat before the 8pm show. We both ordered Hurricanes to drink, I had the chicken pot pie and she had the salmon. Even though there was no chicken in my chicken pot pie, both entrees and the drinks were delicious! I loved their version of a pot pie and it was perfect on a cold, rainy night. We also ordered dessert(because… DUH!) and I was blown away by the brownie a la mode. That brownie was so moist and flavorful– JUST what I needed at that moment. The key lime pie is *thee* best key lime pie and arguably one of the top 3 desserts in Richmond. And this is coming from someone who normally does not like key lime pie! It’s rare that a restaurant does 3 things so well(food, drinks, and live entertainment). Usually they’re amazing at one and ok at the others. But, man does The Tin Pan nail it. My only point of constructive criticism would be the service. Previous times, the service has been on point. Last week it could have been a little bit better. I understand that it was a sold out show and things were really busy, but our server seemed disheveled, rushed, and inattentive. It took about 45 minutes to get our cocktails, our water was never refilled, and I think that she could have used a nicer, more welcoming tone when interacting with us. Apparently there was an issue with their order system, but that should have been communicated to us. Overall, I’m so looking forward to going back to see more live music and taste that brunch buffet!

Tried this place for the first time. The venue is nice, but there is a cover charge to get in and hear the music. That’s fine, but paying $ 6 for a draft beer on a Tuesday night is over the top. In all fairness, The Tin Pan has a lot of potential so I didn’t give it the one star rating I wanted too. I’ll give it another shot, but I don’t think they should gouge people of draft beer prices. Especially when there is a cover charge.

We had dinner here one evening for a date night. The place is rather large, but still cozy and has a great patio and long bar. There is also a nice, big area for live, local music, which is great. The service was fast and friendly and the food was creative and delicious. IMHO, it was great date night choice and an awesome way to support your LOCAL businesses!

Attended a Unilocal event here tonight! The service was good, very spacious and has a patio. Live music each night all genre. Owner came out to talk to the customers which was very nice. Menu is small which isn’t a bad thing. Some menus are too big and you wonder how they keep things fresh. The key lime pie and carrot cake are ridiculously good. Will definitely be back for the Jazz and Blues nights.

My family and I ate at The Tin Pan last weekend and loved it! Delicious food at affordable prices with huge portion sizes! We got the Irish Nachos, Lobster Mac, Pan-Seared Trout, the Burger, and the Fish Tacos. Personal favorite was the burger on their buttered pretzel roll! Definitely recommend trying this new place. The service was quick, the food was great, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We will be going back to also catch a show!

DH and I live in the area and wandered into the Tin Pan one Friday night. Thrilled to know there was somewhere for live music in the area, we were glad to find them. We have been here a couple times, each time on a Friday night. We have tried some of the appetizers, including their signature whiskey shrimp dish, which was pretty awesome. We have also tried their dinner dishes, such as fish-n-chips, the burger and fish tacos. None disappointed, especially when served with a side of crispy fries! Their live music headliners vary in style. But I would think there is something for most tastes. Some acts have a cover charge. Some do not. So check their schedule or drop in like we did. I really hope they can make a go of this place.

What has been accomplished by the owners since opening in February is amazing. What The Tin Pan lacks is the historic charm of worn wooden floors and brick walls of older venues. The Tin Pan makes up for it with an intimate experience that isn’t claustrophobic. The sound system is top notch and it is a pleasure to listen singers without being deafened. While I appreciate the plentiful free parking, I wish there was something to block the view of the parking lot from inside. Perhaps frosted film, sheer curtains, shutters, anything so that I don’t feel like I’m in a suburban strip mall. The acoustics would also benefit by curtaining off the kitchen entrance near the bar, and making an announcement that this is a listening room to please refrain from talking an turn off your cell phones. The kitchen and menu are still evolving, the drinks are good and the wait staff friendly. I look forward to seeing more shows at The Tin Pan.

Today’s Sunday brunch was our second visit to Tin Pan and we’ll definitely be back for more. The kids enjoyed red velvet and chocolate chip pancakes, which were plentiful and delicious. The grown ups enjoyed Bloody Marys, breakfast burritos, and amaretto French toast. Great service and today’s music provided by River City Swing was on point. Our entire family is so happy to have a venue like Tin Pan nearby to enjoy great music and reasonably priced food in a laid-back setting.

Was there today for«Brunch.». Menu was truely breakfast with two sandwiches, no lunch options. Server had to come back twice to tell me that they didn’t have ordered options(chocolate milk and a fruit cup). Also I hate places that nickel and dime you, ie cheese with eggs is extra. My omelet was delicious and full not skimpy on items. I also never had to ask for a refill. Probably going to try once more for lunch or dinner.

Went there for the first time last night and loved it! The Irish Nachos were excellent. For dinner I had the Pretzel Roll Club which was great. Everyone else in my party loved their meal as well. Looking forward to seeing some of the musical acts. I think the Tin Pan hit on a winning formula!
