Popped in for a quick Friday lunch. Excellent calzone at a reasonable price. There was some good lunchtime deals on and a good buzz with a busy lunchtime crowd. Service was pretty good too

I am not sure where Ara O. Went to eat before writing the review but it must have been somewhere else. We happened upon this local Italian eatery by chance. The staff was pleasant and efficient. The prices were good. They even have earlybird specials(which we chose not to get). My penne with chicken and mushrooms was great. Lots of chicken and the sauce was perfect. The lady’s sea bass also received good reviews. For this quality food I would’ve preferred shaved cheese at the table rather than the shaker that was placed there. Being picky, I would’ve also preferred larger napkins.

Stay away if you can! It was loud and the service was horrible! I understand Europe is not big on customer service but this one was downright nasty! I wasted my evening and I even had to walk up to the counter to ask for my check! Never again and if you can, don’t. Seriously nothing special about this place, sadly.

I did not come to Dublin expecting to find good Italian food, so I was pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood restaurant. From the crostini and calamari appetizers to great dishes of Amatriciana and Carbonara. The food and wine priced were also very reasonable. On my scale, I would prefer to give 3.5 stars here but given the location, I am happy to bump it to 4 and recommend this place to my friends.

I was told that this placed used to serve and to be known as an Iranian restaurant, but probably Italian food did a better business, so they switched. Anyways we went there in a cold afternoon to get lunch, and there was a special menu for 9.50 something I suppose? We went for the only two survivors of Iranian meals that were in the menu quietly with their authentic Persian names(Joojeh, and Koobideh), but with no implications that they’re indeed Iranian, not Italian. Both the meals were good, but not authentic enough to be accompanied by rice; also the size of the kebabs were reasonably short; much shorter than standard Chelow Koobideh or Chelow Joojeh’s kebab sizes. Waitresses were Italian and pretty nice, but apparently the boss is Iranian. It’s a shame that there aren’t many Iranian restaurants in Dublin, and few people are exposed to Iranian food, which is absolutely one of the best foods in the world. No idea on the Italian food yet, since I haven’t tried, but they could do much better with the Iranian ones. Nevertheless, it’s good to know there’s a few secret Iranian meals hidden in an Italian menu accessible in the city center.

Had Sunday brunch with my young teen soon this past week. We arrived on the late side … Perhaps about 2:30 when one table of 6 guests were leaving and besides us there were 2 other tables of 2 each guests. Nice restaurant for what is otherwise a devoid part of the city of restaurants. The early bird menu was offered to us by Italian waitress as well as a la carte. We both choose from the early bird and had pasta, my son had the carbonara and I had the fettuccine with mixed shellfish and seafood in white wine sauce. Both entrees were delicious. Not a huge amount of food but perfect portions for us. We had garlic bread and crostini to start with. Both were average. I had a glass of house Italian Merlot. It was ok. We asked for glasses of water that were served with slices of lemon. Overall nothing outstanding enough for me to rush back but if in the area wouldn’t hurt to stop in.

Great pizza, good wine, reasonable prices! However I once got Salmon and it was dry and tasteless and it didn’t even look like something I’d want to eat. So dissapointing since it it somewhere I have come quite often. As long as you stick to the pastas and pizzas you should be good though.

Nice little Italian restuarant on Talbot street. Stopped in last evening with my wife on the way home from work. They had an early bird menu of starter and pizza/pasta with a glass of wine for € 14 each. For and extra € 7 you could upgrade to a full bottle of wine(it was a Tuesday, so was sensible for a change). Starter choices were fine — Soup/Garlis Bread/Bruschetta/Crostini and the mains was any pizza/pasta dish. Food was good(but not ‘special’ if you know what I mean?), service was friendly, price was great. It was busy for a Tuesday which is great to see, alas this meant seating was alittle cramped. Otherwise no complaints.

When I visited Toto’ yesterday, I was looking for somewhere I could find refuge away from the outside world and read my newly-purchased ‘Back From The Brink’, Paul McGrath’s latest tearjerker of a novel. Given such desires, I was immediately pleased by the relaxing lighting and the relatively narrow, cavernous nature of the place. I was even more pleasantly surprised to discover that at least some of the staff were evidently Italian, and needed no invitation to display my prowess in their language to the waitress who was serving me, the most beautiful woman on the planet, as it happens. I must stress the non-sexual nature of my appreciation of her beauty, as there’s every chance she was actually a girl, if you will. In either case, I would imagine her presence was a significant latent factor in Helene H.‘s frustrations with her dining experience, given that she frequented the place with her boyfriend. The food itself was a solid ‘good’ for its price, a € 9.95 special for soup, a choice from a decent variety of mains(a pizza vegetariana in my case) and a soft drink, the unsolicited ice and lemon in the 7Up being a particularly nice touch. The pizza base was of a pleasing consistency, and the toppings were generous and tasty, my one regret being having to leave to attend some business and having less time to enjoy the pizza than I would have liked. My two regret was that it wasn’t aforementioned thousand-ship-launcher taking payment for the bill, so our hands couldn’t lightly brush during transaction in that nice way you’ll know. She was, at that point, eating her own meal at the back of the restaurant, H :-) Minister John Gormley may well have been at the table next to me.

Small Italian just off OConnell st. Quite tight inside but usually busy. Possibly not authentic Italian as the special meal seemed to be kofta. Pizza decent enough. no problems. Service friendly. Wine by the bottle cheaper thanneighbouring places at € 16. Would go there again but does nt figure as a remarkable meal, just straightforward.

Talbot Street isn’t exactly where you’d think you would find an Italian restaurant. A home décor shop? Yes A pub? Yes This surprising shop serves decent enough Italian food served at reasonable prices. I wasn’t particularly blown away with the food, but a pizza and some wine did the job in warming me up from an otherwise cold afternoon! It’s worth a visit if you’re looking for something a bit different than other options you might find in the area.
