Super découverte à Dublin! On me l’avait conseillé et je né regrette pas d’y avoir fait un saut!
On y a mangé un petit morceau en fin de journée après avoir vadrouillé toute la journée, Une bonne soupe accompagnée d’une Red Porterhouse, c’était pas mal du tout. La soupe et le pain étaient un régal! Pour ce qui est de la bière, j’ai un peu été déçue. C’est difficile de choisir quand on né connait pas, mais elle était bonne quand même, juste un petit arrière goût qui né m’a pas plu ;) Assises au rez-​de-​chaussée, nous avons été attirées par la musique qui se jouait au 1er étage et nous avons passé une excellente fin de soirée, les guitaristes chanteurs étaient super, faisaient de chouettes reprises et nous chantions avec eux! Je vous conseille fortement d’y aller faire un tour, rien que le cadre en vaut le coup. Le bar est tout en bois et on s’y sent vraiment bien en entrant!!!

Pros: A large selection of beers, including their own craft beers. Plenty of seating, though it can be quite dark. Also, there was good live music when we were there.
Cons: Food isn’t too memorable here, so heed the advice and go elsewhere. The only thing that we ordered that was passable were the wings. Crisp and juicy. The chowder seemed canned and the black pudding was really dry and lackluster.
Service is definitely lacking at times. It can be hard to track down staff to place an order or to cash out.

Good music, good drinks, good folks, and good fun! The prices were not bad but Hey, you are on vacay! Pretty large location, three floors I think. I enjoyed the ambiance and met w an olé friend here. An exceptional time! Slainte!

I came here with my boyfriend about two weeks while visiting Dublin through the recommendation of the official city of Dublin tour guide book. I have to say, it was a really nice Irish pub experience!
It was a really windy day when we visited and we were looking forward to being inside after touring the city for the day. We wanted the Irish pub experience while trying traditional Irish foods like Irish lamb stew. I personally don’t like lamb so I passed and got the pulled pork sandwich instead. The sandwich was amazing since it wasn’t as sweet as the ones I’ve had in the states, while the lamb stew was a bit gamey at first but you kind of get used to the taste after a few bites. But we were surprised by how little stew there was and that it was a bit diluted compared to the stew back in the states. We also got the small fried fish appetitizer which was okay but a bit dry.
We also ordered the beer paddle with 3 different types of beers. While ordering we changed our minds about one of the three flavors. Due to a small miscommunication between the wait staff and the bar, we got 3 extra beers (our original orders) on top of the 3 that we ordered and they didn’t charge us for the mistake, so it was very kind of them. My personal favorite was the Hop Head because of its aroma.
When we went up to the bar to pay, it took a while for a staff member to help us out. But other than that it was overall a casual but yet intimate pub experience for us. We’d recommend this place!

Love this place. Great beer. Great food and lovely staff. Always a good atmosphere and plenty of great live music to keep your toes taping. I had the best vegi lasagne in here. So tasty.

Another bar in Dublin told me about Porterhouse being the choice for craft beer in Dublin. They were right. The night I was there, the had a chalk board showing the different types of hops and of course, their beer options for the night. Their selections are varied.
This is a multi-​level bar with music on the second floor.

They have tap strawberry beer and it is actually good! They also have a few of the best live bands I have seen in Dublin so far… no entrance fee, great atmosphere, you can certainly feel the Irish craic in there!

Tired of Guiness & Smithwicks? In for some Craft Beer? Try the Porterhouse Temple Bar and get the sample or simply taste them all before hitting the Streets of Temple Bar district for some more. There’s also food, and after trying the mixed appetizer platter I suggest you go for the wings.

Well what can I say… If you want a taste of Ireland. A lot of craic, good music and great food this is where you need to be.

And then we have the drink. I counted 70 beers on their menu alone 10 of which they make themselves (I recommend the porterhouse bräu)

One downside as there always is. The service is little to be desired. A packed bar/​restaurant and only 3 wait staff. Rookie mistake but all in all a good night.

Cool place, cool staff, cool beer and cool food. Great option to have some drinks and some food. The finger food here is awesome and very tasty but the beer… The beer is absolutely great with a bunch of craft beer selection and standard beers too. The location is impressive and the decoration is actually very cool.

Porterhouse is always a good choice for craft beer. They have lots of seating, an almost exhaustive selection of beer, and friendly staff. Sadly, I can’t say the same thing about food which is quite mediocre.
My suggestion would be that you stop here for a few drinks and head over to the nearby Zaytoon or the countless great eateries at Dame Street for a nice meal.

I like this pub. It’s a kind of a chain sure. It’s maybe a liiittle bit generic as a result of this, but it’s still a damn good pub in my opinion. There’s nice food — your usual pub grub, but high quality. It’s cosy, it’s pub-​y, and in this one, they often have a nice little trad session going on which is of a much higher standard than the rest around the area. Throw in their home brewed beer, and yer onto a winner!

Porterhouse is a solid bar in Dublin for craft brews. Literally pages and pages of beer, with something for everyone in terms of taste and preference. The variety comes with an exorbitant price tag, especially on import brews. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the food. Ambiance is decent, but does provide ample room and is good for large groups especially with nights that have live music.

Lots of floors and cozy corners as well as musicans playing means this place attracts both visitors from home and abroad. I like this place as it is not pretentious but also not without it’s charms.
They serve craft beers such as chiller and oyster stout and you’ll get a funny look if you ask for pint of Budweiser! I also like their cocktails, especially their long Island Iced tea and Pina Colada and they are reasonably priced.
Food i’ve not had at this particular Porterhouse but their pizzas in their other branches are pretty cool, good portions, lots of toppings and choice and not lots of stodgy bread. I recommend this place if looking for somewhere to hang out, listen to music or to pass through on a pub crawl. Sometimes hard to find a seat but as the crowd moves around it shouldn’t be long before one comes available.

I like this place BUT it is in temple bar which is a huge drawback as it means lots of tourists and that means it is super packed and hot.
Portherhouse has a great model that really works for them, the food is good, the beer is plenty and the staff is nice but it is just really overwhelming when you just want to go out for a few pints.

This porterhouse is probably one of my least favourites. I have been in all of their branches, and food here just always disappoints. I went for the medium Buffalo wings — which were not too bad and just big enough portion too fill me up. My friend had the lamb stew and was less than impressed. It was basically a big piece of lamb on the bone drifting in what looked like dirty dishwater.
The 5.50 € tasting platters of their home brew were a fun touch though!
Anyway. I will stick to this place for a pint and live music once in a while, but for food I will find my joy elsewhere.

Well the beer selection is great! However, the service of the waitresses in the dinning part of this place is to be desired. The girl that was or server on the third floor was everything but present, ignoring our table from the beginning. When we finally got her attention she seemed annoyed as if we were an inconvenience. Well if you don’t like serving the don’t do it. Otherwise nice place and I might come back.
Oh just got my order and she got it wrong of course… She is in such a hurry that she is getting everything wrong.
Once I was ready to pay the bill, once again the server was nowhere to be found. I ended up having to go to the bartender to pay out after waiting 20 minutes to pay.

I went to the Porterhouse to watch the 6Nations match between Ireland and France. I loved this pub! It’s really big and has very nice interior.
Ordered a hot whiskey (which was not my cuppa tea to be perfectly honest) and some chips. Both fit perfectly with watching a tough game like rugby!
Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place!

Beer is always good at Porterhouse pubs — we are always a big fan of the Hop Head ale and they always have fantastic guest ales on tap!
Food, however, not so good… it is very average pub grub. I got chicken wings which they are famous for but it was pretty meh. The OH got sausage and mash, served in a massive Yorkshire pudding which was suspiciously Aunt Bessie-​like.
So — get your drink on here but go elsewhere for your meal, there’s only a dozen of restaurants within 2 min walk!

No en todos los pubs de Dublin ponen Guinness, en este hacen sus propias cervezas y están muy muy ricas. Sitio super-​grande con varias plantas, siempre hay música en vivo, decoración muy chula y está muy cerquita del bullicio de Temple Bar.

Incontournable pendant un séjour à Dublin. Excellent Pub sur plusieurs étages et situe au cœur de Dublin. Sa grande sélection de bières maison et commerciale. De la musique live. Une clientèle très sympathique et variée. Super atmosphère imbattable pendant les weekends d’évènements sportifs.

Un bon pub pour aller suivre un match ou aller déjeuner.
J’ai été étonnée de né pas le trouver blindé.

A pesar de ser bastante turístico, es un sitio muy agradable para tomar unas pintas, incluso para pedir algo de comida.
Preparan sus propias cervezas, tanto negras como rubias, que están buenísimas. Merece la pena visitarlo solo por probar sus cerveza negra de ostras. Incluso se puede acompañar de media docena de ostras a un precio razonable y hacen una combinación estupenda.

Netter Pub am Rande von TempleBar, wie schon zuvor erwähnt ist das Temple Bräu gut trinkbar, zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Cooles Ambiente — jede Menge Bier Sorten, auch aus Österreich.
Dafür kein Guinness ;-)

C’est un magnifique pub irlandais dans le quartier de Temple bar, un beau comptoir et un salle avec un grand écran pour voir les matchs de foot. Plusieurs sortes de bières. En weekend beaucoup de monde, beaucoup trop de monde.

On the first day of our stay in Dublin we went to the Porterhouse which was a great choice!
First we were a little startled by the darkness inside at 2pm but seems it’s common for Dublin’s accommodations. Anyhow the waitresses were really friendly, the burger super tasty (haven’t had such a good bacon cheeseburger outside of the U.S. before) and the style and the atmosphere of the pub is amazing.
During lunchtime you can get a good deal around Temple Bar at this place.
We enjoyed it a lot and would highly recommend you to try this bar!

Das Porterhouse ist ein sehr schönes Pub, die Inneneinrichtung (im Vgl. zu anderen Pubs) sehr gepflegt. Wir hatten immer Glück und konnten einen Platz ergattern.
Die Musik und das Ambiente hat uns in diesem Pub sehr gut gefallen.
Das eigens gebraute Bier schmeckt sehr lecker (vor allem die Stouts), wir haben einige der 9 selbstgebrauten Sorten selbst probiert. Nicht zu empfehlen ist das Hop Head, schmeckt wirklich sehr stark nach Hopfen (Ich glaub ich kaue auf einer Hopfenblüte hat mein Freund gesagt”).
Etwas enttäuscht waren wir vom Essen, im Vergleich zum Bier ist das Essen nichts besonderes. Fish n Chips hat an anderen Stellen viel besser geschmeckt. Auch der Ceasar Salad schmeckte nicht wirklich nach einem typischen Ceasar Salad.
Deshalb einen Punktabzug!
Naja, dort geht man lieber nur zum Bier trinken hin!!!
Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung, Bierpreise in Dublin generell höher als in Deutschland!

Un pub avec plusieurs étages et terrasses où l’on peut boire et manger, et propre de surcroit, mais je vote de suite pour ce lieu. C’était il y a 5 ans mais je compte y retourner sous peu histoire de vérifier si c’est comme dans mes souvenirs.

Pub resto agréable mais sans plus
Ambiance sombre, tabourets hats et tables en bois. Décors Irish.
Nous y avons pris un lunch tardif juste avant l’arrivée de la foule. Au début, le service était ok mais dès que le pub se remplit, il faut beaucoup attendre.
La nourriture est conventionnelle: burgers classiques et moyen en goût, cowder peu copieuse (même la full), les boissons sont sans surprise.
Bref rien d’exceptionnel, un pub comme les autres Et sans surprise !

Un super pub Dublinois ! Le cadre est chaleureux, tout en bois et sur trois étages (si je me souviens bien), avec un espace au milieu, les bières sont bonnes et il y a un vaste choix ! Régulièrement, il y a des musiciens qui viennent mettre l’ambiance: ils s’installent dans l’espace vide au milieu et tout le monde s’accoude sur les barrières autour à chaque étage pour écouter et chanter ambiance garantie !

Gehört zum Dublin Besuch einfach dazu. Temple Bräu ist für deutsche Biertrinker zu empfehlen.

Lors d’un city break à Dublin, j’ai atterri malgré moi dans ce pub au coeur de Temple Bar (le quartier branché où vous trouverez forcément un pub pour boire votre Guinness, pour manger un Irish Stew ou pour écouter un peu de musique irlandaise, ou pas).
Impressionnée par la carte sans fin des bières et autres cidres du coin, je me suis rabattue sur un «diet coke» ! Mais grâce à mes acolytes du jour, j’ai pu gouté le cidre à la fraise et au citron vert (trop bon), au cidre Bulmers, et autre boisson du même genre !
Comme dans tout bon pub irlandais, on a pu déguster un énorme burger, pas mauvais !
Une bonne adresse dublinoise, à l’ambiance enthousiaste !
Y aller tôt pour avoir une table !

J’y suis retourné le week end dernier, pour prendre le temps de déguster les bières maison, j’ai bu deux des trois Stout, elle sont merveilleuse
J’ai voulu goûter la TSB, qui est une ale servie à la pompe manuelle, malheureusement «out of stock». Vivement mon prochain passage à Dublin.

Es uno de esos lugares en los que acabas una noche en la que no tienes planeado ningún destino, perteneciente a una cadena de pubs está bastante bien.
Fabrica su propia cerveza, que al parecer, está bastante buena. Hay más en Dublín, aunque seguramente en tu visita sólo veas este. Como en otros lugares tiene música en directo muchas noches lo que lo hace muy atractivo para los que pasan cerca de él, personalmente me gustan más otras opciones como ‘The Celt’.
El servicio, los precios y la limpieza son correctos, pero es inevitable encontrarse con otros muchos turistas (como en casi todas partes en Dublín).
Recomendable para una noche.

Ein großartiger Pub, der sich über mehrere Etagen und ein halbes Dutzend Biertheken erstreckt. Man hat die Wahl aus einer gigantischen Menge an Biersorten: irische, englische und amerikanische. Dazu häufig aufregende Live-​Musik. Wer sich kurz von der Lautstärke erholen will, kann z.B. in den Raucherbereich wechseln, der außerhalb liegt und mit seinen vielleicht 6 Quadratmetern deutlich unterdimensioniert ist. Aber nach einer Handvoll Bier stört auch das nicht mehr, sondern führt eher zu neuen Bekanntschaften …

Ich war in beiden «The Porterhouse”-Ablegern in Dublin, sowohl gegenüber des Trinity Colleges, als auch am Rande von Temple Bar. Da sich beide Läden meiner Meinung nach auf gleichem Niveau befinden, werte ich mal beide zusammen:
Das Ambiente ist ‘typisch Pub’, wobei sich das Porterhouse positiv von den ansonsten teilweise doch heruntergekommenen Pubs in Dublin abhebt. Es gibt ab und an Livemusik und/​oder Sport auf großen Bildschirmen.
Zu Trinken gibt es jeweils drei Sorten selbstgebrautes Stout, Ale und Lager. Ich hatte das «Temple Bräu» Lager — und das war echt richtig lecker. (5 Sterne!) Das es kein Guinness gibt, stört nicht weiter. Neben den hauseigenen Brauerzeugnissen gibt es eine riesige Vielzahl an Bieren aus aller Welt, auf der Karte sortiert nach Land. Aus Deutschland allein um die 20 (geschätzt).
Das Essen ist wirklich lecker. Ich hatte einmal einen Salat, das andere Mal einen Burger. Beide Male war ich wirklich zufrieden. Die Qualität liegt über dem üblichen Pub-​Fraß.
Ich vermute stark, das der Laden mich nochmal wiedersieht, alleine wegen des Temple Bräu. ;-)
Achtung, 2./3.-Einträge:

Bislang nur ein — relativ kurzer — Besuch auf meinem Konto. Der war aber äußerst erfreulich.
Das Oyster (hauseigenes Stout Bier unter angeblicher Beifügung von Austern) fand ich lecker und mal eine nette Abwechslung zum Trio infernale von Guinness, Murphy’s und Beamish. Damit einem nicht langweilig wird, gibts aber noch geschätzte 20 weitere Biere vom Fass. Leider macht das Betrunkenwerden bei bei den auch hier herrschenden Dublin-​üblichen Bier-​Preisen nur halb so viel Spaß. Wie machen die Iren das eigentlich?
Die Live-​Musik (gute Laune, irisch jenseits von Fiddle-​Klischees und technisch auf hohem Niveau) war einfach grandios und die Idee, die Band auf einen kleinen Balkon in der Zwischenetage zu setzen, hat auch was.

Am Abend ist hier immer voll. So voll, dass wir keinen Platz mehr gefunden haben. Am nächsten Tag sind wir sind wir dann nachmittags hier eingekehrt, und waren beinahe die einzigen Gäste. Das Pub ist schön und gemühtlich, leider war das Personal alles andere als freundlich. Vielleicht war sie auch sauer, dass wir nicht gleich auf den ersten Augenblick gemerkt haben, dass hier kein Guinness ausgeschenkt wird. Was wir danach als Ersatz serviert bekommen haben, war leider nur eine wässrige Pfütze.

Einer der schönsten Pubs in Dublin auf mindestens 3 Etagen, (bei mir ruhiger) Livemusik und mit unzähligen Biersorten in jedem Fall einen Besuch wert.

Si piensas en el típico var Irlandés, seguro que te viene a la imagen el Porter House. Es uno de los mejores bares de la zona de Temple, eso sí, tampoco esperes nada del otro mundo a parte de buena música (algún concierto en vivo) y bebida. Temas de comida todavía no son demasiado buenos.

Die Musik dort ist wirklich gut, aber muss man dafür einen Hörschaden in Kauf nehmen??? Einfach nur viel zu laut, man versteht sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr! Daher gibt es nur einen Punkt von mir.

Touristen und Dubliner treffen sich hier. Mitten in Temple Bar kann man sich noch so sehr anstrengen, ein Guinness zu bestellen. Man wird keines bekommen: Hier wird ein eigengebrautes Bier ausgeschenkt; nicht ganz so gut wie Guinness, aber das ist ja geschmackssache. Toll ist die hängende Bühne, auf der wirklich gute Bands spielen. Immer voll, immer super Stimmung, gut zum Feiern, schlecht zum unterhalten :-)

Das Porterhouse muss man gesehen haben. Echt Klasse. Die Inneneinrichtung ist beeindruckend, liebevoll eingerichtet und ur-​gemütlich. Ich glaube gelesen zu haben, dass es jeden Abend Livemusik gibt. Wir waren an einem Donnerstag da und gegen 23 Uhr trat eine eine echt tolle Liveband auf, die zum Teil Coversongs und zum Teil eigene Lieder spielte. Der Raucherbereich ist sehr klein, man kommt dort aber gut ins Gespräch mit anderen Gästen. Die Gäste bestehen zur Hälfte aus Iren, den Rest stellt ein sehr internationales Publikum aus Studenten und auch Touristen. Die Atmosphäre ist locker und die Auswahl an Bieren enorm. Im Gegensatz zu capitano69 fanden wir das hauseigene Bier Porterhouse durchaus lecker. Gegen halbdrei ist, wie in Irland üblich, Schluss mit lustig. Das Licht geht an und die Gäste werden hinauskomplimentiert. Das Porterhouse ist für einen guten Start, wie auch für einen Aufenthalt über den ganzen Abend geeignet. Durch die zentrale Lage im Szenebezirk Temple Bar hat man auch recht gute Anbindung an die Busse und den Luas (eine Art Strassenbahn). Wer in Dublin verweilt sollte auf jeden Fall mal im Porthouse vorbeischauen.

Das Porterhouse — eine Kette von Pubs mit diversen Niederlassungen, die auch Ihre eigenen Biere, also im weiteren Sinne ein Brauhaus ist — daher auch der volle Name Porterhouse Brewing Company ist sicher einer der schönsten Pubs in Dublins Amüsierviertel Temple Bar.
Die Auswahl an Bieren ist unglaublich und umfasst Bierspezialitäten aus aller Welt — aus Europa, den USA, Südamerika und weitere Exoten. Alle sind in der Karte detailliert beschrieben. Die Preise sind angemessen und bei der Auswahl noch durchaus fair. Das Ambiente ist sehr nett und gemütlich — der Pub erstreckt sich über mehrere Etagen und ist mit Flaschenbieren aus aller Herren Länderund weiteren Brauerreiutensilien dekoriert.
Besonderheit: hier wird man auch am Tisch bedient!
Auch die Karte mit Snacks kann sich sehen lassen — eine reichhaltige Auswahl an Speisen sind zu bestellen — die Preise sind, wie überall in Dublin recht deftig.
Wir waren mitten in der Woche dort und es wimmelte von Gästen so das man sich schon intensiv um einen Platz bemühen musste bzw. viele Besucher auch wieder gehen mussten. Rechtzeitiges Erscheinen sichert also auch einen Platz. Live-​Musik wird ebenfalls von Zeit zu Zeit angeboten.
Achtung: es gibt in diesem Pub (in Dublin!) kein Guiness sondern ein von Porterhouse selbst gebrautes Stout, was angeblich genauso schmeckt und noch besser sein soll — lt. Aussage der Bedienung — diese Einschätzung konnten wir nicht teilen. Ferner wird in der Karte auch fleissig auf die angeblich nicht mehr irischen Brauereien eingedroschen

Im Großen und Ganzen bestätige ich den Kommentar von Capitano69. Ich bevorzuge auch ein Guinness mit Liffey-​Wasser gebraut. Aber das Flair dieser 5^stöckigen Eckkneipe muss man einfach von oben bis unten aufsaugen — gehört zum Temple Bar-​Besuch.

Surement le pub de Dublin qui me manqué le plus !! QUe de folles soirées passées la bas !! Des concerts tous les soirs sur la mini scèné du 2ème étage calée entre 2 escalier, une merveille !!!
