Just to note: this is a review solely on a weekday dinner experience and not on the bar/nightclub aspect. This place has been around quite some time and I’ve been meaning to call in and see what it’s all about. I originally thought it was just a nightclub but found out that it served food too so decided to give it a try. I ordered a cheeseburger with extra bacon and an extra sauce and a side of fries. My friend ordered a bruschetta and a side of mash. While it wasn’t too busy, there was only one person on the floor taking orders and delivering food. Always going to be an issue. We eventually got to order, however still had to wait a while for the food to arrive. Maybe there was only one chef in the kitchen too! When the food arrived it looked pretty good, good sized portions. However the waiter forgot my sauce and I couldn’t manage to get his attention. At one stage he even sat down with his friends and started eating. In regards to the food — it was fairly average. My burger was ok but a bit stingy on the bacon. The fries reminded me of Eddie Rockets but were a little undercooked. It did the trick since I was pretty hungry. My friend enjoyed her bruschetta but found her mash to be peppery. I tried it too and it was. Wouldn’t bother me but she couldn’t eat it. By the time the waiter came back everything else was eaten so there wasn’t much point in getting another one. With the poor service, mistakes and below par food I don’t think I’d come back.

6 € la pinta, carisimo. Buen ambiente pero la cerveza es demasiada cara, exageradamente!

Great atmosphere and great hamburgers. I might be biased about the hamburgers because I haven’t had one in over a decade.

This was a great pub experience! Boasting great food, a lengthy whisky list and a good amount of beers. I ate the hake and the warm goat cheese brioche, both incredible. My wife can’t stop talk about the goat cheese toast. Going back today.

It was our first time at Bad Bobs and we were looking for a place for a drink and a simple meal. This bar completely fitted our expectations(and even more). The atmosphere and decorations are great and we found a place to seat very easily. They have a good range of beers and coktails(2 for 10 €!!!). The Cuba Libre was great and the beers recommended by the staff as well. We ordered two burgers which were very tasty and quite big to be honnest(quite hard to finish even if I am use to eat a lot). We could not try dessert because we were already full of great burgers and beers :-) The staff is very nice and professional as well. Our waiter gave us useful tips for food and beverage and had a unformal chat with us. He sounds very natural and spontaneous and this chat was definitely part of the lovely experience we had here. Next step: trying it for a friday or saturday night :-D You have to try it… NOLISTEN: You HAVETO try it !!!

Can’t speak to Bad Bobs for anything other than a late lunch. When my girlfriend and I arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant and bar, and it stayed that way throughout. The bartender recommended an alternate Smithwick’s brew which was very good. The food was kind of weird, however. For comfort’s sake, I went with the butterflied chicken, which we would call chicken parmesan in America. The menu said tomato salsa, which I had realized over my time in Europe meant ketchup, marinara, or a mixture of the two. In this case, I assumed it was marinara. Well, it was ketchup. Too bad, because the rest was good. And it isn’t like fried chicken and ketchup is a bad mix, but when its smothered with ketchup and mozzarella, marinara is a better choice.

Richard, the bartender, was amazing and helpful in choosing the best among a wide selection of Irish whisky.

This is the second time I have been to Bad Bobs, and both times it has been a fantastic experience. Their food is really good, had burgers both times«fantastic!». A live band, great atmosphere, great service, laid back place. The beer and whiskey selection is really good too.

Love it here! The bartenders are fantastic(thanks Thiago and Colin and Brandon)…I proposed to two of them already! Ha ha! The music is amazing! We heard two groups of two and they both were super fun and could definitely get the crowd singing! The food was surprisingly good!!! We had the goat cheese salad and it was awesome! We also got the bangers and mash… yum!!! For a bar… the chef was legit!!! The bathrooms were clean and the service was prompt. Excellent choice!

I went there for St Patricks Day, and it was amazing ! Sure, the place was packed with tourists, but it’s so huge(three levels) that you have still room to move and dance. And there are bars at every level, so you can order a drink without waiting too long. Even if you don’t smoke(I don’t), you should try the«roof garden». There is no view of Dublin, but you can see the sky and I have to admit it’s nice to feel the fresh air when you’re dancing on some good old and new songs. Another great thing to try? The photobooth ! This place is full of surprise, I loved it !

It’s been awhile since I last wrote a review [INSERTFACEPALMHERE]. So I thought what better way to start 2015 by reviewing one of my all time favorite pubs/bars in Dublin that is BADBOBS. Great atmosphere, superb quality of food — I ordered the twice baked potatoes — DELICIOUS! If one were to describe the décor in a one or two words it would be ‘RETROCHIC’. I have to give props to the two member of staffs who served me and my friend on ‘7th November and 9th November(sorry I didn’t quiet catch their names! We talked about how our tour guide told us to go to avoid all the nightclubs in Dublin). I can honestly say their superb customer service has made our experience here in Bad Bobs a brilliant one. They also have live music at nights which is a definite must see! All in all I give BADBOBS5 stars, thank you so much. Highly recommended.

Great ambience — a good way to feel Temple Bar spirit, taste fish&chips and get a free shot if you check-in!

This place was amazing. We had a huge group, walked in, and they immediately got us seated in their upper bar area. The food was phenomenal and the drinks weren’t that expensive. The band they had playing was amazing and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect out of a Dublin bar. You should definitely stop here!

Nice place for a few drinks — nothing that stands out and I wouldn’t be against going back.

I may have given Bad Bobs an extra star because it took Discover. On a serious note, Bad Bobs is what I pictured when I thought about bars in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. Comfortably packed with a solid tap selection. We hit Bad Bobs on one of our mini-bar crawl stops second to last night in town and enjoyed our stay. The music wasn’t overpowering, but around to help you enjoy your evening. They have the place broken out into different sections, with one area being a bit more lowkey than the other. After heading off to other bars, I wish we stayed at Bad Bobs a little longer…

We were looking for a good place for food and beer(of absolute courses) to pass time pre Sarah Millican hilar-fest! I ordered a tex-mex chicken burger and fries. The food came to us well presented on a chopping board-type plate… eh swish! I’m not gonna rave about the burger cos it was probably my own fault ordering it as chicken instead of beef… it tasted kinda wrong! Chilli Con Carne and japapenos on a chicken breast is not the wisest choice of mine. For«pub grub» it was quite pricey and the sides were extra. That being said the atmosphere was good and they pour a daycent pint.

Did you know this place has been all renovated and spruced up?! It’s actually had quite the sprucing, and followed the lead of many bars /restaurants in the last year or two, with a quirky, shabby chic décor. There’s a piano hanging from the ceiling and nice lampshades and old typewriters, and the full kit and caboodle. I nearly think it may have been better for them to change the name entirely as I remember the old cavernous bar a little too well, which is really the polar opposite of this cosy, inviting new replacement. We only had one drink, so I can’t comment too much on libations and victuals, but what I can say is, the place is delightful, and the staff even more so. Absolutely go and check it out for yourself.

The service was SUPER nice, the bartenders gave excellent recommendations and so I ended up having my first Guinness ;) The atmosphere is great, dark wood and funny plaques, so quite the common«irish» –look. We instantly felt cozy and welcome. On a Tuesday night the place wasn’t crowded at all but the club wasn’t open then. They also had amazing live music, something we weren’t expecting at all. I think they have live music several nights a week but I can’t be sure. The non-live music played was really versatile and varied from top 40 pop to 80’s rock and even some country. Extra mention to the bathrooms, they were big and tidy!

The manager is REALLY friendly and the bartenders are extremely gorgeous(boys and girls). The club/pub itself is very spacious and can hold quite a few people in it. During the weekdays they usually have some local singer come play some live music — which is really great. However during the weekends it’s packed(like any pub/nightclub in Temple Bar), and the drinks are really pricey. Because the main reason to go out is to drink, having to spend a ridiculous amount of money just to get buzzed is a deal breaker for me. So three stars — service and atmosphere were great but I just can’t get passed the expensive drink prices.
