Underwhelmed. I’ve had many Irish breakfasts, so theirs looks the part, but its nothing special. When I dine out, I want to enjoy my meal and the atmosphere. I luckily had good company with me on this visit, because everything else was rather lacking. I will give the café 2 stars for polite and prompt service, however.

Went here for the Irish breakfast; wasn’t impressed. Egg was very well cooked, but the rest was substandard. Sausages were positively anaemic. The rest of the menu looked to be all over the place(and the posters for a Kepak Chicken Wrap really doesn’t get the heart racing). Atmosphere, despite overlooking the Liffey, is similarly lacking. Much better options nearby.

Not as glowing review here as the others. But if you are near it is certainly fair food at a fair price… just wouldn’t search it out

I think this restaurant must have changed owners because the food is awful and overpriced. At 10am it was the only open restaurant that we could find do we went in and ordered a chicken panini, a chicken ciabatta, soup, and chips. This is by far the worst order of chips I’ve had not only in Dublin or Ireland but ever, and the soup is not good either. The only thing that was appetizing was the orange juice. I hope you don’t decide to waste your money here, A meal of a sandwich and soup is around 10 € and definitely not worth it! Eat here at your own risk.

I love this place too. I often call in and look out on the liffey and watch the world go by. Food is very good quality and tasty… also is not at a rip off price… I have a coffee from here 3 – 4 times a week, everytime i pass by… this place is a gem in my book

I’ve known Hazel M for many years and in that time I’ve come to see that she is often very right. while searching on Unilocal for a good place for brekkie this morning I saw her review of the ha’penny bridge café and thought I’d head there for breakfast. Even though I know how often she’s right, I was still surprised with just how right she was about this place. I went for the small breakfast and it was really good — didn’t feel small at all. And I’ve suffered through a lot of breakfasts that were cheap meat fried into an unrecognisable state in the hope that you would no longer notice how cheap it was. This was all good, and very tasty. For 6 euro I got sausage, beans, an egg, a heap of lovely bacon, tea and toast. It hit the spot perfectly.

A good Irish breakfast is hard to find. I certainly didn’t expect to find it in what I assumed was a tourist trap café, but in fact, this café has one of the best value and properly cooked full Irish I’ve had in ages. The mini-breakfast is actually plenty of food, with an egg poached to perfection, two ungreasy tasty sausages and rasher bits, also served without dripping oil. Tea/coffee and toast are included in the price. For some reason it really annoys me when tea and toast is not included! Tea and toast is a fundamental part of an Irish breakfast, not incorporating it into the price is just cheating. This café strikes all the right notes for a decent full Irish. Go forth and consume pig, my friends.
