IDK if Ireland has a different idea of what beef should taste like, but on my last trip, I stopped in and decided to try their version of a steak and cheese. While the cheese was ok, the beef tasted like it had capers in it, and was mixed with saloma. Quiznos is bad enough in the states, but Ir, it was terrible. I’m chalking it up to jsut this location. I mean Irish beef cant be this bad, can it?

In my opinion, Quizno’s is way better than Subway. In Canada and the U.S. Quizno’s is just as popular as Subway. Little known fact about this tasty place is that, as you may or may not have seen before, their slogan being ‘mmm, toasty’ is actually because that was what set them apart from Subway. Now, Subway toast subs as well but this is really only a new-ish thing for them. It’s pricier than Subway, but they have much nicer sauces and fillers, and though not as varied selection of breads, I find the bread nicer in Quiznos. MMMMM, toasty!

At home in the States, Quiznos is in direct, firey competition with Subway. They have this commercial that says«we don’t need a fancy jingle» to combat Subway’s sickenly catchy, «five dollar foot long!» song. I agree, Quizno’s doesn’t need a jingle and it is better than Subway. They’re just kind of babies about it. But that is completely beside the point. Quiznos, just like Subway, is the exact same thing at every location. Sure, there may be minor differences, but by and large if you get an Italian sub at one Quiznos, it will be identical to the one you got at another. This is good in that you know what to expect. A sandwich packed with more meat than is really necessary and then(this is key) toasted. It’s all hot and crunchy and gooey and mm. I wish it weren’t a chain because I love to support the little guy. The thing is, I don’t even care when it comes to Quiznos.

This is without doubt the best Quiznos in Dublin. It wears this particular merit badge because by some freak natural phenomenon, this Quiznos does their sub of the day* for 2.99, while every other thieving Quiznos in Dublin reaches his delicious cheddar cheese hands into the pockets of the naïve and plucks out an extra euro, bringing the sub of the day to 3.99. But this Quiznos is not like those other dishonest Quiznos. This Quiznos is the Mother Teresa of Quiznos while the dame street Quiznos and Stephens Green Quiznos are Eboneezer Scrooge and Lord Voldemort, respectively. All dodgy analogies aside, the sandwiches are cheap and delicious. The staff are really sound and even gave me free chips when I was hammered once. While the average punter would head straight to Subway for his lunch, go wild and hit Quiznos on the other side of Wexford street. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. *Quiznos definitely didn’t rob this idea off Subway.

I love sambos, I really do. I also like chips and cheap meals. So naturally I like Freebie Fridays in Quiznos, where I get free chips and a drink with my big tasty sambo. It’s not even that much better than a normal day, where I get a free drink for flashing my student card. Ah Quiznos, how I love you. I especially like this branch because there’s always newpapers laid out on the tables. Somehow, the latest disasters in Irish Sport don’t seem so bad when you’re chomping away on your«Classic Italian». Stephen Ireland? Who needs him.
