Dublin Bus 17

The 17 Bus is legardary — its one of the few buses in Dublin that operates outside the radial routes — instead of going into town, it goes all the way around everywhere on the southside, or at least that’s what it feels like. Starting in Rialto it goes to Crumlin, Terenure, Rathfarnham, Churchtown, Dundrum, Clonskeagh, UCD and ends at the Dart station in Blackroad. It is important to note that it take FOREVER to do this. In fact its just possible that the 17 bus is an advanced time travel device which makes duration seem longer while you’re on it.
People look at me in horror when I say I get the 17, but we have one of those ‘Its complicated’ relationships. I used to hate it when I started getting it way back in 1996, but somehow it wore me down and it just doesn’t bother me at all anymore. Its gets me from more or less where I live to more or less where I work and even though it meanders its way between those two points, I’m just glad I don’t have to get two buses or go in and out of town.
You see — its beaten me into submission. If it ordered me to kill, I probably would!
