Best Western du Vieux Marché Rouen

Quick warning: the hotel is being renovated so there is no carpet in the lobby and everything looks a bit shabby. We were not warned that the was the case before we booked. Not all rooms are done, ours had a shower head that was too heavy and wouldn’t sit up right so taking a relaxing shower was hard. Also it’s quite noisy, you can here the phone in the lobby ringing. There is also no air conditioning in any of the rooms, quite odd as the temperature today was 26C with high humidity.
Also it claims to be a 4* but I don’t see that come to fruition yet. For example there is no airco, but also the towels are not what I’d expect, nowhere near luxurious enough.
The room itself looked great, nicely decorated. The bathroom needs to be refurbished. It is old and mouldy.
Having said that it is smack in the center of town. Found the corner there are plenty of restaurants and sights to see. We were here passing through on our way home from the south of France and felt sorry we didn’t stay in the city longer! However I would have chosen a different hotel for multiple nights stay. I guess once they are finished it should be fine (August is when we stayed here). Good enough for one night passing through if you get a decent deal I guess.
