Just had the meanest bar tender on the planet. Some South African clown who knows nothing about aus and treats customers like crap. This guy should be caned and a cheerful Aussie block or somebody cheerful should be hired. It is after all supposed to be an Aussie bar. Dump the saffer and get somebody cool who a ally likes his job and treats people with respect.

Nice Aussie Pub! Cool staff and great drinks. Was there on Wednesday and had a good crowd and live band.

Great atmosphere if you’re in to the crowded kind of place, and a quite decent supply of beer, but the staff just seems bored and that rubs off. For example, asked about the difference between two differently label-colored beers of the same brand, the bartender turns around, picks up them both and quickly opens them — «that would be 15 €».

Love this bar. Would definitely recommend for the fantastic bartenders that work there. Overall relaxed environment and I have to say again. The bartenders are world class… Cheers mate!

Recall: Really like this one, it’s got quite the character after all these years, still quite the busy one. Recap/2007(Mentally time travelled) Finland’s Australian bar is a fun, casual, Australian-themed bar very close to the central hub. The new friends I met were looking for a good time and we found it here!(Music) They have live AND recorded music playing, and there’s typically dancing in the front area but the seating is towards the bar and around also outside on one side(Look at the photos). There was a good crowd both times I went! The bar is always crowded Fridays, but the drinks are good as well local and imported– You can always rely on their great backpacker friendly, customer service and the Australian lift up attitude.

I LOOOOOVE this place. Every time I’m in Finland, I come here at least once. They have good dance music(more of the famous hits than less known ones but, hey, sometimes that’s exactly what I want), good drinks and fun people. Out of the many places I have been taken to in Finland, Aussie Bar is probably the funnest. As stated in many of the Finnish reviews, everyone is very social. If you’re looking to have a relaxed conversation and a drink with friends, I wouldn’t suggest going there during peak hours. But, if you want to meet new people and socialize and/or just dance, I would highly recommend this place. It’s relatively small though and it gets SUPER packed during busy hours(ie, weekend nights) which is annoying since you’ll probably have to wait in line in the cold but, all in all, definitely fun!

great place. live music here on Wednesdays. you can get a 1 liter can of karhu beer here for 10EUR, which is a pretty good price/beer ratio for a Finnish bar. worth a recommendation. :)

The Aussie bar is one of the key locations where English speaking expats of Helsinki meet and party. The bar is run by Aussies and Kiwis, serving their own twist to the native beers and drinks from the area. The bar hosts plenty of themed parties a few times a year, which are always brilliant and a lot of people make an effort to show up in short shorts or kinky pajamas. Whether you’re looking for a place to meet new people, practice on your language skills or go party your brains out, this is the place I’d go to.
