I travel York, PA. often on business and this tis time I had the opportunity to stop here before going to the hotel for the night. It was hard to tell if they were open or not but the drive thru appeared to be open so I drive to one of two speakers to order. The 1st speaker instructs me to drive to the second speaker to order. I pull up to the second speaker and waited for what seemed like 3 minutes. Soooo now I’m having second thoughts about ordering and not sure if they are open or not(there were no other cars in line but mine), I decide to drive away. As I’m driving away someone finally comes over the speaker«May I help You?» Too late, 1st impression is last impression, If you were that busy at least let your customer know that you are busy and you will be with them shortly. Judging by the other comments here, I’m glad that I decided to leave.

Like other McDonalds they have gone to the monkey see monkey do method of business: each sandwich made one by one with a herd of customers standing around in confusion wondering who is waiting for their food and who is waiting to order. Gone are the quick burgers and fries and REAL milk shakes replaced by delayed and cold burger and fries and smaller«old fashioned» milkshakes with whipped cream and half round lid on top. You can see their people taking the«fresh made» food out of drawers where it has been laying for a while. The only good fries are ones that just came out of the hot oil not the ones laying there developing a bitter taste and getting cold. They must have spread the rumor that to get their only true fresh sandwich you had to order a fish sandwich because they fry the fish one at a time right after they are ordered. I know that’s a lie because I can stand there and see how many pieces of fish they fry at a time and it sure as hell is not one. Also the last fish sandwich I got had 1⁄3 of a slice of cheese. Cheap bastards. In the past I’ve gotten them with no tartar sauce and no cheese but at least I got a roll! Anyway, what was wrong with the old McDonalds? The one that had a row of burgers ready when you walked in the door. The one that had a heat lamp keeping their fries(that were fried in premium oil) hot and delicious. The one that had huge shakes in a cup with flat lid(unfortunately just semi soft ice cream that requires a person with an iron lung to suck through a straw) without all the extra junk. They invented fast food but after copying everyone else’s stupid ideas have ruined their business.

This store is located right off I-83 next to the Rutters gas station, so it is a convenient stop if you are passing through the area. The drive thru is often busy, but they typically do a good job getting you in and out. I’ve only been inside once or twice, but it has always seemed to be pretty clean. The best thing about this store is the drive thru will be open 24 hours a day starting on 4÷1÷11. I might have given it 4 stars, but afterall it is just a fast food restaurant.

I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out if they were open or not. When I relayed my feelings they rattled off what days they opened early, which nights they were open late, etc. Don’t tell individual customer! Put it on a big sign outside and tell eveyone driving down the road! They just added a second ordering speaker at the drive through but it saves no time like they say it’s just a way to get a captive audience for commercials. Beware! This McD’s gives you nearly cold food at the drive through. French fries taste bitter when they are cold. Their beef is getting back to garbage again. They buy premium imported beef and«ADDBEEFBYPRODUCTSTOIT». WHY, WHY… WHY?
