Holiday Inn Express & Suites York Ne – Market Street

Originally booked the Leaders Heights location for a visit home, but changed to this one after I contacted the LH manager to check on pet policies. I was told that I was expected to cage my cat for every moment of the week long stay. Just totally unrealistic. Checked with this property and they just asked that I contain my pet for housekeeping which is more than understandable. Glad I did so because this is a lovely hotel. They accommodated our request for handicap accessibility in the restroom and gave us a little break on pet fees since we had such a long stay. I didn’t anticipate the size of the room when I booked. Holy cow, I’ve had smaller apartments in my younger days. I didn’t book a suite, so it was a nice surprise to find that our room had a sitting section. Plenty of room to spread out and bring in snacks to keep food costs down during an extended stay. Cheerful desk staff and housekeeping staff who happily indulge my talkative travel mate’s ways.
Standard continental breakfast included, pool and fitness room available, huge flatscreen television set with Direct TV and about a million channels to flip through. Nice sized mini-​fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee pot in room and lots of counterspace and storage in the kitchenette. Nice location in east end with easy access while the property itself stands on its own to give you a little breathing room.
(ETA: Staying during a holiday can bring out the real idiots. Kudos to the staff for handling one of those selfish morons who are incapable of acting like civilized adults and restoring the peace.)

Nice and clean hotel. Easy access to York restaurants, quick hop to 30 E towards Columbia and Lancaster. Rooms are roomy and beds are comfortable with flat screen, microwave, refrigerator, and wi-​fi. Breakfast is usual eggs, bacon, cereal, pancakes, etc. Also has pool and fitness room. Turkey Hill gas station and convenience store right near. Staff was pleasant. Would stay at hotel again.
