We had Father’s day brunch there and didn’t know they served breakfast after 12. The menus were for lunch. When asked about breakfast our waitress said we had to ask for them. Our drinks came at the same time as our food. Never once did she come back to see if we needed anything. She must have been new. I wonder how they train their servers! Otherwise the food was good. Won’t be coming back real soon.

My wife and I had a gift card that we wanted to use but this place always seems packed around lunchtime so we arrived a little earlier than noon. The first thing I noticed was the dirty and in-need-of-paint front door. Since we had arrived around 11:30, there was plenty of seating available and we were seated right away. It took a while for our waitress to attend to us but she was apologetic and she took our order. While we weren’t expecting fast-food, we were expecting our meals more quickly than they were delivered. While my burger was tasty, it was charred completely black on both sides and was well done in the middle; not the medium burger I had ordered. I grabbed a handful of my fries and the only warmth I could feel was possibly from a few minutes under a heat lamp; they weren’t eaten. My wife’s tacos were served on stale, dried-out tortillas and she didn’t finish her meal. My wife also ordered a fresh cup of coffee in a clean cup but it never arrived. However, a different server did show up and topped off her cup. One of the managers(turqouise shirt) dropped by and asked about our meal so I complained to her. A different manager(black shirt) came to let us know that he was comping the burger from our bill. At that time I showed him the curtains on the windows in our booth. They were old and frayed and covered all over with spots of soda or coffee(very unappetizing). This is probably not the shabby-chic look they’re going for and the black-shirted manager stated that they were preparing for a renovation. He also comped us two muffins which we haven’t tried yet. I don’t understand the attraction that brings so many customers into this restaurant and we probably won’t be going back.

We took our middle granddaughter here for an end-of-school year lunch. Although I was disappointed in the onion soup and thought that the grilled chicken sandwich was only okay, the other four members of our party truly loved their meals. The waitress was attentive even though she brought my oldest granddaughter’s muffin out late. The crème brûlée desserts were large and tasty. My daughter and wife reported that the women’s restroom was out off toilet paper and soap. I brought the matter to the attention to the greeter who said he would have it taken care of.

The food, service and atmosphere are awesome! Love the Bacon and Avocado Omelets! And the muffins are the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommended!

Very unpleasant breakfast before heading to the Nixon library. Once we received our orders, we got the bill right after, we hadn’t even started our meals! I take it they dont like visitors. The place wasn’t even packed, & it was early in the morning. I’ve been to better Mimi’s locations but after this experience, I don’t want to go to one ever again.

It deserves 5 stars. I’ve been there three times since I found it 2 weeks ago. I surely will go there again

Mimi’s must be in a cost-cutting mode. I ordered an omelet that came with bacon and brie. It had two VERY small pieces of brie on the top.. A token amount. My wife ordered a chicken pot pie. No crust on the bottom, no potatoes, and two tiny slivers of carrots, peas, chicken, and white sauce was all she got. Disappointing.

My wife and I stopped here for a mid morning breakfast on Sat the 7th of May. The place was crowded so we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated the room we were in was so noisy that it was almost impossible to hold a conversation. Two large groups were the cause. I said something to our hostess but nothing was ever done. The food was good and the service was friendly, but a bit slow, probable due to the crowds. It would have been helpful if someone from Mimis had asked the crowds to hold the noise down a bit.

Our family has eaten at the Mimi’s in Yorba Linda for many years. Always good! Yesterday we went again. 7 people at 1:30PM. We expected a long wait, because there were people sitting and standing outside, but we were seated within a few minutes. Everyone enjoyed their food! Our waitress was outstanding. Very funny too. :) The meatball appetizers were surprisingly tasty. I had the Bacon Avocado Sourdough Burger. Excellent! Just thinking about it makes me want to back again tomorrow. P. S. I almost forgot their great muffins! My wife liked them so much she bought an extra dozen to bring home for snacks.

Mimi’s Café has been in my neighborhood, for as long as I can remember. To me, I’m always reminded of their great breakfast entrees, those tasty muffins, and the overall french theme. Tonight, my boyfriend, youngest daughter, and I decided to eat dinner there, and were excited to learn that online, they offered many choices for low calorie eaters. He and I normally eat whatever what we want, but we recently began counting calories, with the My Fitness Pal App. It’s working. At the restaurant, the menu was quite different from what we expected. The online stuff was just regional, or generic. Not restaurant specific. So, not only did they not have a turkey burger, but they also didn’t have a veggie burger. Vegetarians beware. This place needs to get caught up with the times. Many people are looking to eat healthier these days. We decided the grilled salmon would be our best shot. Joshua was our server and was kind enough beforehand, to bring us a book of nutritional value. It also had gluten free options inside. The salmon we’d get, choose steamed green beans instead of potatoes and knew the sauteed spinach was fine. The presentation was nice and the meal was terrific. It came with a side of some chardonnay sauce and I used less than half to coat my salmon. I gave this place 3 stars for slightly slow service, no low-calorie or fit options for diners, and not serving vegetarian burger choices. Last, my fork was«dirty,» but I admit I didn’t say anything and instead swapped it our for another, off a nearby table. My daughter had the kids Tillamook mac and cheese and liked it.

Went for dinner. 1st off, terrible parking situation. Need to expand parking lot. We went in and was seated right away. Our server was awesome. She was nice, personable, and polite. She brought us some bread and muffins that were delicious. However, problems started when our main courses came. I had the meatloaf, which was good. My GF got quiche which was under-cooked. Her salad had too much salad dressing on it. My kid’s steak was over-cooked for medium-well. It was so hard to cut, I tried and so did my GF. Very difficult to cut! Most of it was fat. And his frites were drenched in oil and had no flavor. Too bad the food had so many issues. The night started off good and then just blew up in a bad way.

What a wonderful little restaurant. My family and l decided to come here for dinner tonight. I can’t believe I’ve lived down the street from this place but never eaten here before! I liked the décor of the place, very cozy and welcoming. It was quite busy for a Tuesday night, but our server Kevin took good care of us. The food was delicious and my kids really enjoyed the bread baskets with the warm baguettes and carrot? bread. Not sure, but it was tasty. Also after dinner, they gave us a complimentary box of muffins which was really a nice touch. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back.

I brought a large group of seniors to have a late lunch to Mimi’s Café. The staff was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals.

How come they only have 3 stars?! This restaurant deserves atleast a 4 stars just for food quality! We went in today for a early lunch. It was packed but they kept checking with us and said sorry multiple times for letting us wait. So the wait is not that bad and I can tell they did clean tables as soon as someone leave! Can’t blame them on that. The Environment is pretty nice. Classy and frenchy. Not very fancy or very fresh, but definiately not a bad environment to eat! Clean and organized. We enjoyed our meal and had a good talk. Food were amazing. I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered an appetizer as my main dish. It was a cream mussels with fries.(forgot the name sorry, but picture on menu! You will see) OMG That was SOGOOD! I think that’s the best I’ve had in the U.S. Yes the BEST! My hubby had their lunch special«West Coast Reuben sandwich». It was good too, but not like a regular Reuben sandwich we’ve had, it got some coleslaw and French cheese. It was good but really, not as good as mine(lol he had mine and he liked it too!) anyways, overall the food was GREAT! Drinks were good just regular. Server was good. I can tell they didn’t hire enough people or something. She was busy serving more than 10 tables at one time! :(I totally understand we had to wait a bit for a refill bread. Oh yea and she handled it well. It’s all good. I can’t believe they only have 3 stars here! For this kind of food quality with this price? Omg YES5 stars please! Definitely will come back(so many times)! Recommended for lunch!

Sad! The wait to sit down at the table is short, but waiting for a waitress takes FOREVER! So I came here at dinner time, but wanted breakfast so I ask for a breakfast menu and I get it. So now I figure nice I could have an amazing Mimi’s breakfast for dinner. So I wait for ever to finally order then after I order I wait… I wait… I wait, then half and hour later I get the saddest/worst tasting breakfast dish. Well now I know why I don’t come here often because of the service. Lastly one tip towards the restaurant is don’t serve breakfast for dinner if you can’t handle it.

My family and I made it an annual tradition to spend Thanksgiving day at Mimi’s…and we’ve been to many different locations all over the area. This year 2015 will be the last time i spend at Mimi’s. The service we received was from a waitress who was forgetful and overwhelmed. We knew it was busy and so we overlooked the bad service. We had to ask several times for things, such as spoons for our soups, sugar for our teas, bread, cranberry sauce. and even when we asked for gravy. After several times forgetting to bring what we were asking for, at one time when we politely asked her again, she loudly replied«SH!T». Mind you we had a teenage boy and a toddler at the table. I kept my cool since i knew she must have been flustered working such a crowded room. The food was not as good as it used to be, but it was ok. They changed the way they prepared the sweet potatoes and the pumpkin pies. The worst part was, the pecan pie. The pie was a thick gelatinous hard blob of grossness! Like coagulated fat! I will never order pecan pie from Mimi’s, nor will i ever go to a Mimi’s again. It seems that everytime someone is able to convince me to to go a Mimi’s, i am always disappointed in the food and service.

The bacon was prepared exactly how I like it. Our meals came out hot from the kitchen. Everything with seasoned well, in a subtle manner but savory. Mimi’s is the king of breakfast done well. The Yorba Linda location is convenient and the service is always good. Recommendation: go to Mimi’s

Can anyone beat grilled cheese that has stretchy gooey cheese? I think not! Even as an adult you can find your childhood favorite all over again. The bonus experience: this with my daughter. We also shared a turkey club with onion straws using out hands to pick up the greasy goodness… yah, the straws could have been better drained of the excessive grease, but we didn’t complain as it wasn’t so bad that we didn’t gobble them up! Also, the club could have bigger pieces of turkey, it’s called a turkey club for a reason. BUT, it filled our bellies and we took leftovers home. The service this afternoon was very pleasant. The girls came by and talked to us and were very happy to share a good and brief conversation. The drinks were filled when they were 2⁄3 empty, our food came out the proper temperature and we had a really good time. We will be back. Thank you for the great afternoon lunch girls!
