Love the food, usually takes awhile to serve but totally worth it in my opinion. Recommend the bistec a la pobre. Damn good piece of steak with a fried egg, along with some good Peruvian cuisine to go along with it.

Food is OK… I had never eaten here before and was curious because reviews on Unilocal were so good! Would not come back. Disappointed and my meal was just average. I ordered the Lemon chicken lunch bowl. The description said it is topped with cucumber onion salsa criollo… Hmmm there was none. I asked about the salsa and was told that she would get me some that it is served on the side…? Interesting because that is not what the description says… Well even with adding the salsa(and it was such a small portion) I had to ask for another side of salsa(and got a slight unspoken attitude) from the counter gal. Lol. Oh well it’s a job. Overall my meal was OK at best. Will not return.

We came in for lunch. You have to order at the counter(and pay up front) and they will bring it to your table when it is ready. Their food menu is varied, their beverages menu not so much. They do not sell alcoholic drinks. The prices are reasonable considering the serving size. It can get pretty busy and there are only two people working in the kitchen. I was so excited to try the ceviche(considering that this is a Peruvian spot) and to my disgrace it was not at all what I was expecting. It was extremely watery and tasted too much like lemon. Pros: You can see the chefs cooking, prices are affordable, servings are decent, cute spot, tasty food, tables outside. Cons: Can get crowded, no alcoholic drinks, ceviche is not amazing.

Nice neighborhood option for something different. The Aji de Gallina was the best of the dishes we tried and as good as anywhere in the OC … But beyond that the lomo saltado was just ok — they use skirt steak rather than fillet at $ 12.50 in a strip mall they might want to spring for a little better. The empanadas were nice also and the mango drink was delicious. The green spaghetti needed a little salt and flavor.

I’m a Peruvian food foodie. I will seek out the nearest place to satisfy my Lomo Saltado craving. So when I saw the ads at Starlight Cinema for Peruvian food I was so there! What immediately got my attention was the full service prices for the food items in a place that you walk up, order and pay place(Rubios style). We ordered Tallarin verde w/bistec, Beef Lomo Saltado, aji de gallina and beef empanadas as an appetizer. Defiantly not ‘fast food’ it took a good 10 – 12 min to get the Lomo, 3 min after, we received the Tallarin verde and 8 min later we received the aji de gallina and our appetizer. Food portions were generous! The Lomo flavor was delicious! I wanted more! But then I had a piece of the beef(flank steak). Chewy, nervy and not edible– so sad. Aji de gallina — yummy! A must have! Tallarin verde– full of basil flavor but that was it. Lacked salt, pepper and garlic. The meat, again was chewy and non edible! It looked delicious but missed the mark. Empanadas– greasy, will not order again So my review is based on price and flavor. I do not mind paying $ 12.50 for a Lomo Saltado but to get cheap meat, then I do care about the price. There’s a handful of Peruvian places up the coast that charge the same, even a wee-bit less but use filet steak. Will not go out of my way to eat there.

Love it. Tasty, inexpensive food. Tallarin Verde is my favorite Peruvian dish, and this place did not let me down. The papa a large huacaina(did I spell this correctly?) Is good too. My mom said the cilantro soup and cilantro rice are both really good. Next time I’m in the area I will be stopping by again!

I am a fan of Peruvian food. I was happy to find this Peruvian restaurant on Unilocal and was excited to try it right away. Andes Peruvian Grill is a mix of fast food and full service restaurant. You order and pay your food at the counter and the workers deliver the food to your table. Yucca a la huancaina($ 6.45): fried yucca(cassava) with a side of creamy aji amarillo cheese sauce. I was very disappointed with this dish. Cassava is usually my weakness and I couldn’t even eat half of the plate. The creamy ahi amarillo cheese sauce didn’t help the dish. It tasted blah! Ugh! Bistec a la pobre($ 12.95): grilled hutacay chimichurri steak, served with french fries, crispy plaintains and white rice, topped salsa criolla and a fried egg. The steak was cooked perfectly, but the flavor wasn’t there. The plantains were sweet and perfectly cooked. Chicken arroz chaufa($ 10.95): Peruvian fried rice with green onion, bell pepper, egg & chicken. Another blah dish from this restaurant. There was no flavor on the fried rice. Empanada: not as good as other empanada that I have tasted. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes. The food was not bad, but it wasn’t good either. I’ll probably come back one more time for its lomo saltado. The service was helpful, but not friendly. I saw the worker rolling her eyes at some other customer. 3 stars! Andes Peruvian Grill is almost yummylicious!

Such a good hole in the wall! The food is sooooo good! I’ve been there a few times now and my favorite is the dish with steak, grilled onions and peppers in a beef sauce on top of fresh fries. Ahh sound so good right now! The owner/manager is there often and asks how everything is, chats and offers suggestions. Love it!

Small, local business. Very friendly and the food was pretty darn good too! It took a little while because they cook to order and they were busy. But well worth the wait!

Great place for awesome Peruvian cuisine! Flavored just bursting in your mouth! And the green sauce… amazing! Put it on everything! I mean everything! We ordered the usual beef saltado and pescado sudado! Tons of parking and there’s even a shave u e place next door for dessert!

Best Peruvian food in town. I love this restaurant. You have to eat yucca with huancaina sauce. The lomo saltado is fantabulous.

This place was very good. We have been to a few peruvian restaurants in the IE and this is top 3 for sure. Milanesa with pesto noodles and tallarin and lomo saltado were all amazing.

MEAT and RICE! Can’t go wrong with that. Then you add the green sauce to EVERYTHING and it becomes totes amazeballs! The pasta noodles and meat option is also killer. Flavors can be bold and light at the same time, weird right? Soooo goood. Can’t give this place less than 5 stars based on the taste of their food. Always feel like I’m eating something delicious first bite. Would love to see more salad options, but that might not be «authentic» for them to do. Their Chicha Morada and Passion Fruit drinks are sooo refreshing. And true to any Peruvian place, gotta have Inka Cola. Stoked that Yorba Linda has something as tasty as Andes. Don’t really like the order-at-the-counter deal they have, but whatevs it’s better than standing in line at Subway or some shit.

This is as small restaurant, and set up like a fast food place, like the one it replaced. But the menu can be confusing if you’re a newbie, like me. We ordered the beef fried rice, steak lomo salato, shrimp soup, and a fish fillet… And if course Inka Cola. The dishes were bright out to the table one by one. When the shrimp soup arrived we found that there was no shrimp! «I’ll ask the chef» said the girl. Later she brought out as bowl of boiled shrimp. My wife noted that the soup should have been orange in colour, but ours was beige. Probably because the shrimp was left out during cooking. The pieces of beef steak seemed over cooked and tough. The fried rice and the fish were good. The limo distro was tasty but greasy. This was an interesting experience, but not the best Peruvian food we’ve had lately.

This place is pretty good. It’s a cool local place to find Peruvian food. I typically go for Aji de Gallina. I’ve had some outstanding Aji so my expectations are pretty high for this dish. The dish here does the justice. The flavor is good and the sauce has a good consistency. I also love anything with huancaina sauce; and I have to say they hit the mark on that one. Try it with yucca. Yum. Their green side sauce is also semi spicy which I love. They bring the whole bottle to the table so you can have as much as you want. Oh! Try the cilantro rice with everything! It adds just the right touch.

It was okay… It’s no Mario’s in La Mirada, but it was relatively close by and we were craving Peruvian. The lomo saltado was a bit bland(unlike Mario’s which was too salty) and the portions are waaaayyyy too small… The noodles saltado was okay, but for the price of all the dishes, I was expecting better portions and flavors. Over $ 30.00 for these three dishes!

It’s an order at the counter casual restaurant with full service restaurant prices. How disappointing, especially since the food doesn’t taste all that good. We ordered the steak noodles, steak lomo saltado, and steak with fries/egg. In all three dishes, the steak is so chewy! In the lomo saltado, which is the one Peruvian dish I order at every Peruvian restaurant I visit really lacked flavor. The noodles were were overcooked in the noddles dish. And worst of fall, the fries weren’t crispy! $ 40 for disappointing food and no service.

Small space in a strip mall — logical place to find really good Peruvian food, right? Check Andes out — the food is fresh and very well prepared — and… of course, tasty! I don’t get out for Peruvian food nearly often enough — so I usually end up getting Lomo Saltado(why risk it when it’s once every few months, right?) The Lomo Saltado here does not disappoint. Yum! The staff is very friendly and they also got my food out ASAP(I barely had time to stop by before heading to the airport). My boss called while I was eating — I told him what I was eating — I chewed in his ear while he talked. He was jealous. ;-)

So glad there is a Peruvian place close to home now! From the outside it appears this place is pretty small, casual, maybe more geared towards take out. We placed a phone order over the weekend and BF went and picked it up. When we placed the order they told us 15 minutes for the food. He got there about 20 minutes later and it was ready. The portions are good. I had my usual Lomo Saltado and it was a really big plate, especially for lunch. The beef was tender and seasoned nicely. The fries were a little too plain for me. The aji sauce was SUPER spicy. Overall though, I enjoyed it. I just put some soy sauce on the fries and they were better. BF had the Salchi Papa which was described as hot dogs over fries. And that is exactly what he received! He was also given at least 5 condiments to pour over the top — ketchup, mustard, mayo, and some others. He liked it. I will definitely order from here again, try different things on the menu. The prices are pretty good, i’ve been to other Peruvian places that are much more expensive, but I think the prices are just right here.
