We’re here again, as we almost always are this time of the year. Still love this place and the people who work here… but noticing that it’s starting to show a bit of wear and tear… I’d want to say this is a 4.5* review. Although our room was large, clean and airy, the carpet showed some wear and stains… but that’s about the only thing I’d kvetch about our stay here. Well, that and noting that the hotel’s WiFi does a poor job of covering the higher-numbered rooms. I was in range of two access points and both of them had poor to fair signal strength in our room — weak enough to force me to fire up my phone’s hotspot so I could write this update. My basic review still stands — unless you want the foo-foo B&B experience, Quality Inn is the best place to stay in the immediate Woodstock metroplex :-) The staff are still friendly, the breakfast is good, the rooms are comfy and clean… all they need to get the star back is to keep the place updated.

Vestibule reeked of body odor and alarm clock was broken, woke me up twice with electric static sounds. I can understand if the alarm clock was not reported, but how can you not know that your vestibule stinks. Think about every customer walking through it. Gross. The continental breakfast was minimalistic. The room was pretty good, aside from the alarm clock. I didn’t have much exposure to the staff, except a friendly clerk at check-in.

I found myself needing a place to stay in Woodstock recently and the only place I could remember is a chain that always seems to be booked. Enter Unilocal — the entire reason I joined Unilocal in the first place was for situations like this one. Sure enough, Unilocal listed several hotels I didn’t know were in Woodstock, including this property. It’s hidden in plain sight where US14 intersects with Illinois 76. It has good reviews, so I booked a room. My room was large and comfortable with lots of electrical outlets — plenty of places to plug in your chargers, laptops, cell phones, tablets, what have you. Amenities included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, all the amenities a business traveler expects. The bedding was newer and attractive, The mattress was firm and comfortable. I found the room to be clean and well cared for. There is also a standard breakfast included in a bright, cheery dining area. This will bet go-to location when I’m in the area. Be advised, this is a pre-ADA facility. There are two floors but there is no elevator. If you require a ground floor room, be sure to make that request when you book your room.

Great little place! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel was quiet the day we went. The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. She put my parents in a connecting room next to me and my son. If I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely stay at this Quality Inn.
