AMAZING food… best Chinese food my husband and I have ever had in the valley! We order delivery and it doesn’t ever take too long and is always so fresh and hot. Highly recommend!

This lady was so rude to me over the phone! However the delivery guy was very nice and overly friendly, probably trying to make up for what he already knows about how the phone orders are handled(with condescending sarcasm and curt responses). The food was average, I am sure they know how to make good food but the mood inside the restaurant is probably so tense that it affects their cuisine as well. No one has it easy and when paying clients call for Chinese food at night they have probably had a long day and don’t need to be treated with such disrespect.

I’ve always loved this place. Orange chicken and fried rice are the best. The egg soup is really good too. Try the basket of fried strips with the orange sauce thats on the table. They have large portions for a really reasonable price. The broccoli chicken is really good too. They are always nice and friendly. I love this place!

We had the pan fried noodle with combination meat. If it wasn’t for this flavorful dish I would have given them a single star. We also had the seafood with vegetables which was the blandest dish I’ve ever had. I think they basically threw it in a wok with a little chicken stock… no seasoning whatsoever. Also the food came out fairly cold. The ambience when you enter is terrible. It doesn’t even look like they’re open– parking is half a block away in the shopping center. We entered about 5pm for dinner and there were very few customers. Chairs were sticky from never having been cleaned and overall feeling of restaurant was dirty. Things piled up including food preparation was done on one of the back dining room tables(isn’t that a health code violation?). A woman who I believe was owner was very angry we had bought a Groupon and since she uses one of the dining tables for her office we got to eat while listening to her rant and rave at Groupon(and posting a hastily written note that no Groupons would be honored) at the front entrance. After delivery of our lousy meal they never came back even once to check on us. Without exception, every server we encountered had a sour look on their face– no happy employees here! My opinion is this woman should get out of the restaurant business… I’ll NEVER come back

Reasonable lunch specials, yummy food, great soup, lots of fried noodles to fill you up while you wait. Good service, nice décor, a local favorite. Lots of free parking.

Bad food, rude service, overpriced re used crap. Paid $$$$ for party and couldn’t even get extra veggies for someone in party who wasn’t eating anything else

Sadly my favorite place went downhill… The food started tasting bleh, the crispy rice for the Sizzling rice soup, more often than not, was stale, they would forget things from my order. Once I found a baby roach in the soup and I still kept ordering from here. The reason I finally had a change of heart and decided I was done with this place is because of the delivery man. He actually argued about his tip. He not only asked for one but, he even gave me attitude when he didn’t think I actually added it to my online order. I looked at the reciept and I couldn’t understand the way they print out receipts from the Eat24 app. I assured him that I did add it to the bill. He looked at the receipt again and asked«$ 2???» I told him that the bill was almost $ 90 and I left a 15% tip.(which, at that point, I wished it HAD only been $ 2!!!). He left and, by the look on his face, he wasn’t too convinced that I had really added a tip to the bill. I called the restaurant to tell them how the delivery person acted. I felt attacked and very uncomfortable. They said that he was not familar with the print out of the receipt and that they would explain it to him. Uuuuum okaaaay. Totally not the point I was trying to make. Whatever… Thanks for the memories Lotus Inn…

Being from Brooklyn, New York, we know what good chinese food is. I will say a few things that I agree with the people who gave 1 star reviews. Don’t expect anyone to say hello to you when you walk in !! If you hear yelling coming from the kitchen, its the lady owner. Someone, give this lady a Xanax. She is a nut case. She makes people work there 7 days a week. No one should work 7 days a week. I know you will be pleasantly surprised. Try the shrimp and lobster sauce over rice. Tonight I had mu shu chicken. DELICIOUS. I really don’t care what the décor is, as long as I enjoy the food. The hispanic gentlemen there is a great waiter & very attentive. The male owner is a really nice guy. I hope he is not married to the lady. I feel sorry for him. This lady owner must be horrible to work for. I feel all the staff is so unhappy there. I am sure they would leave, but someone people really need their jobs. Back to positive comment. s The food is really good. Try the lunch specials. Great deal for your money and it includes, soup, salad/egg roll and your dish.

Been coming here since I was a kid, it’s been about six months since I’ve eaten here and every time I come back I get great service, and high quality food! Very tasty and not too heavy like most Chinese restaurants! Highly recommend the orange chicken and steamed shrimp with veggies!

I love eating at the Bistro… Debbi and Bruce are always welcoming and the food is always so flavorful. We always start with fresh brewed hot tea and Wor Won Ton Soup… then Bill loves the Orange Chicken and BBQ Pork fried rice, and I like the S&S Chicken, also with the PF Rice… but I always change it up and try something new… I recommend you do the same! If you like Chinese, this is a great place and its right on the boulevard with a parking lot within a short distance.

Stopped in for lunch. The lunch specials are priced reasonable. The chicken in garlic sauce I got was the best. The lunch special comes with soup, delicious cole slaw style salad, egg role and rice. The hot and sour soup was the best I’ve tried. I will be coming back here whenever I’m in the valley. Love it.

I was a little skeptical because of the drastic mixed reviews, but decided to give it a shot anyways; boy was that a good choice! My boyfriend and I were seated right away, and drinks came within 3 minutes. We got the Wonton soup to share and it was a great portion for 2 people and so tasty! We also shared an order of pan seared pork dumplings, oh wow! These babies were bursting with juice, so so so freaking good! For my entrée I got the shrimp in lobster suace, I’ve never been so happy with my food choices! Absolutely delicious! The ambiance was super cute, really made it feel authentic, stepping into the dimly lit room with all the Chinese decorations was a nice trip from the sad view of the Valley. Treat yourself! Its worth it. =}

Please trust the other negative reviews! We decided to go anyway, thinking that bad service wouldn’t be a deal breaker if the food was good. It wasn’t, unfortunately. While we were perusing the menu, a man was coming in to pick up his to go order, and there was a lot of yelling, a lot of promising he would never return, and a lot of cursing. A man, apparently disgusted with the whole shebang, actually stormed past our table and dropped an f bomb in our direction. A second man was yelled at as we were leaving, presumably because he wanted a table that was suited for 6 people, and he was only a party of one(there were many empty tables). The food was not worth it in the least, I’m sorry to say. I wanted to like this place, I really did.

I work in the complex n wanted something different so I came here. I ordered the lunch special to go. I ordered the garlic shrimp which turned out to be garlic water chestnut and mushroom, accompanied with a burnt egg roll. Maybe I’m crazy but when i order a shrimp dish that should be it, if not the majority. Or perhaps they should state on the menu that it’s veggies with a couple shrimp. Idk either way, Only reason I’m giving them an extra star is because their egg drop soup is delicious.

The food is very good here. I recommend going for their lunch specials as it is a much better value than dinner time. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they need to update the interior. It just feels old inside. After a rennovation, there is no reason for a less than 5 star reveiw!

In our never-ending search for a really good traditional Chinese Restaurant in the San Fernando Valley or the Conejo, we have tried this place three times now — and three is definitely not the charm . Each time we were less enamored than the previous visit. These people seem to be annoyed that you have come in to dine there — almost like they are doing you a favor. The hostess doesn’t engage — although I noticed her being very gregarious with the Chinese people at the table next to us — but then comes our waitress who seems to be only slightly rude at first, but then shows us how really she could care less when she delivers our orders without a word and swiftly takes off. Soon after delivering our entrée she puts the check(and a tray of two Orange slices and two fortune cookies) on the table as she swoops by. Not a word of thank you or how was everything ??? Even the usual faux-friendly service one expects from a Chinese restaurant was sorely lacking here — without so much as a hello or a goodbye. Only the busboy(who was not Chinese) seemed to care that we patronized this place. Everyone else was too busy doing something else, although at dinner hour(7pm) the place had only 3 or 4 other tables occupied. We surmised that everyone else who tried this place was turned off by them, and so the place was dead quiet on a Saturday night. .
The food was average, at best, and so this place gets a big thumbs down .The Won Ton Soup was salty and the combination fried rice was overcooked and lacking any combination I could see. Thus, we will not be back for a fourth try. Our search continues.

I love Lotus Inn because of their crispy orange chicken! The dish is made of authentic white meat strips, breaded well(not too much breading, and not too fried — which is the case of so many Chinese restaurants, esp. fast food Chinese restaurants), and tossed with the orange sauce that has a slight kick to it. Plus one for the generous portions at Lotus Inn, at least from the sit-down experience(no idea about the take out, but the photos seem to show generous portions as well)! Quick service is also a plus :)

Lotus Inn is how I imagine Chinese restaurants in America were like in the 80’s. Egg Foo Young, Mu-Shu this, Kung Pao that. Basically what I’m saying is it’s pretty dated from the menu to the interior décor. I stand by my opinion that Asian food in the valley is average to awful. With that said, Lotus Inn is considerably better than Silver Panda in Chatsworth. I liked their egg flower soup and their crispy chow mein was not bad, except for some reason the sauce reminded me of hot and sour soup. Salt and Pepper pork chops were also okay, though far from the best I’ve ever had. I placed my order online and everything was ready for me when I swung by to pick it up after work. I would give them another try in a pinch, but does anyone have a recommendation for decent Chinese food in the area?
