First time Unilocaling but because I just want you all to know the worst experience ever on my most recent camping trip. Found Tillie Creek Campgrounds as they have group site available at the last minute. For a site of 60 people, it was a little more than 200 a night. Pretty expensive for this horrific place. First of, this place was right across from trailer homes. Just this first site alone have us all disappointed already, as campgrounds supposed to be secluded and away from homes. Our original site was Region F5, space 4 at the end of 3 others. When we got there, it was sooooo windy so we asked for a refund cause the hot wind was blowing everything out of site. Since they wouldn’t give us the refund, they offered us space 2 or 3(vacant at time), which is for a larger group. Seeing that it was a little better, we took the #2. The wind was still blowing but it stopped at around 4⁄5 in the evening. Well, we decided to stay and test it out. See our experiences as followed of our visits. Have to tell you this in lenghthy details so you all know what we went through here. Our first night was ok since the wind stopped. But that night around 2⁄3 am, as my sister and her husband slept in the car, they heard footsteps outside of their car. When they asked who it was, the intruders got away. Next morning, they couldn’t tell if it was just haunted or somebody really was out there. So we brushed that off. Second day, we all took off to the river til 3pm. When we got back, all out tents were ramsacked and broken into. They took phones, cosmetics, wallets and whatever valuables they can get their hands on quickly. We then called 911, which took the sheriffs 15⁄20 minutes to get there. Several sheriffs came by and did their interviews and reports, but that was pretty much all they did. Since we found a transaction was done from one of the stolen card, we called directly to the store that it was used at. The clerk did mentioned that looking at the video footage of that time, that she think she knew that girl. Well, we thought that was a good thing so we can called the sheriffs to tell them this. Little did we know, they went through to do their thing and later came back to us, saying that they can’t see the video because the manager of that store wasnt there to give them permission. But did mentioned that they will keep us posted with their investigations. Fine, we left them alone to do their stuff and went on with our nights. However…worst thing happened this very same night. We had fun, but ended up going to sleep around 11 that night as we were all very exhausted. As we were almost falling asleep, some of us heard footsteps outside the tents again. As they yelled out, the intruders took off. We heard and saw a truck screeching off very loud and fast. We all woke up and called 911. The sheriifs got there 15 minutes laters and did his thing again, taking report. Nothing was done and it was getting to seem like these are their normal encounters here at this campsites. We were all very scared but had to force ourselves to sleep that night. Next morning, we all left and sworn to share this experiences to anybody thinking of coming here. Unless you want your lives risked, don’t even try. They should shut this place down!!!

If it wasn’t for the heat I would of had the most amazing time. We had a group camping spot which is A Lot different then the regular camping spots. Group campsites are away from everyone and you get a HUGE area all to yourself with a very pretty view. If your going to camp here I highly recommend you get group camping. The regular campsites looked horrible. Everyone was so close to each other and there was kids EVERYWHERE! The only plus side would maybe be that you have a regular bathroom but you have to share it so it’s probably really gross. The group camping has two porter potties each and they were very clean inside. We had lots of tables, a fire pit, 3 different stand up bbqs and a water pipe! Big dumpster for all your trash too. Of course there is bugs, and Mosquitos but your camping so get over it and bring bug spray. Lake was so much fun and we even got a boat to take out and that was awesome! I would definitely like to come back again.
