I camped at Paradise Cove a few years back before the drought and enjoyed reading the negative reviews which are, in this case, totally deserved. I was lured in by a beautiful lakeside view and pastoral setting… the lake was actually at the edge of the campground at that time, the view of the lake was lovely, and it seemed peaceful and idyllic. I pitched my tent and made some dinner… as I was cleaning up, it became a bit ‘breezy.’ «Eh, how bad can it get?» Bad! By 10PM breezy had turned to gale force winds that threatened to topple my sturdy tent. The howling winds continued throughout the sleepless night, rocking the tent from side to side, and threatening, at times, to lift it completely from the ground. The winds calmed at daybreak, all became once again quiet and the now tranquil lake resumed singing its siren song to lure in another batch of unwitting victims. The busy road behind the campground brings it’s own set of issues. While I couldn’t hear the road noise over the roaring winds, I could see the headlights, and the light and noise pretty much ensured a totally sleepless night. I later learned the high winds are normal at this location, so be warned. This is probably an OK campground is you’re in an RV and there aren’t any other camping options around. But don’t even think of pitching a tent here.

so cool and very windy is definatley right. staying in an rv but wouldnt want to be here in a tent, you’d blow away. great for an overnight stay. nothing to do here. toillets acceptable, showers closed due to lack of water. $ 24 fee, free for us as nobody came to collect our money.

Just spent Memorial Day here! It was good! Windy and cool though. I say good because facilities were not convenient. Luckily for me, I have an RV for RR and showers. One shower stall for women and one for the men, really? Not the cleanest either!

Overall is a great campsite. It was very windy. The downside of it the water of the lake it seem like it was getting drain because part of the lake there was no water. The other thing we encounter was coyotes close by we just heard them and we have two small dogs. We heard that they eat small dogs. But I would go back and I do recommend it to anyone who likes camping.

lots of roaches at night, in the day time is very hot and they hide. not many trees for shade. so bring shade. there is benches, bathroom and showers. it was clean overall, fire was not allowed during the time i went, so bring a gas grill. it is right next to the main road, bring ear plugs… it is noisy. all night you will hear motorcycle and car pass by… definitely not the ideal place to have that ‘camping” feeling. but if you need to have a place to stay for the night and cant find anything else… this place would always have availability. would not camp there again.

It’s pretty bad when you go camping and the only wildlife you see are about a thousand cockroaches and a black widow. I saw the first roach about 30 minutes into our stay as we were setting up. I told myself nope it couldn’t be and ignored it, with in a couple hours they were basically swarming the campsite. That’s when we packed up and left. Literally hundreds were under the picnic table and several dozen where around the fire ring. One even made its way into the tent. Even before the roaches we weren’t sold on the place, hard dirt and lots of prickly vegetation, and wind made set-up a pain. The shower was pretty revolting even by camping standards. The campsites were 3 seconds off of the highway meaning traffic noise was pretty constant and didn’t seem likely to die down after midnight. Also there were some party animals who had far too much to drink and and a string of bright lights attached to their R.V. Firewood was pretty non-existent, the frat boys broke a large limb off their tree to make a fire. Fortunately we were close enough to home to make a late night change of plans. I think this is the first time in a long history of camping that we headed home instead of toughing it out.

We pull in to park our trailer and I got out to move the concrete block you park against because rebar is sticking out and I don’t want it to pop my tire. All the sudden I hear someone yelling at me. I couldnt even understand her at first. She told me to put it back that I can’t do that. The place was desolate so you would think she would speak in a kinder manner, but no she felt she had to come yell at me. We pulled out and left and will NEVER camp there. There was no need to be so hateful.

No trees. Too windy. Too Dusty. Murky water. Trash everywhere. Hot. The crappiest campground I’ve ever been to, bar none.
