Went here and ordered 4 plates from there buffet to go menu, The lady filled up my plates I told her to give me rice and the other 2 portions 1 chicken and the other half chicken and half beef. she said you only have 1 item left I told her I know split it in half the portion size was extremely small, she basically had food for 3 plates left but she purposely filled up less in the other 3 so she could make up 4. The koobideh tasted like old meat I have had a restaurant so i know exactly what she had and how the meat had been prior to cooking, it was so bad that the koobidehs i could tell the chief could not hold it on the skewer and had fallen apart. she had no stews, the restaurant did not have so much options. I went across and got 2 plates from Malek and boy there food was so good, looked great and tasted great. I regret going here. Oh well it was a try but I would never return here.

Had some good Persian food last time I came to check this place out. Outside they had advertised lunch specials with Pasta and other assortments for $ 6 but the portions for those dishes looked small. The restaurant is huge on the inside. Looks like it could accommodate alot of people. We ordered their Chicken Kobade and it tasted great. Probably would come again.

This afternoon my wife and I tried a restaurant we just recently noticed. It’s been there over a year, but we just saw it the day after Thanksgiving. The name of the place… Grande Polentoni. It’s located at the Southeast corner of Winnetka and Van Owen in Winnetka. It’s part Persian and part Italian. Quietly enchanting ambiance far exceeding what the location might suggest. We were indeed pleasantly surprised. Spotless bathroom and not a whisper of foodly fragrance in the air. Pleasant music playing at an appropriate level in the background. Superb service upon entering. Now for the food. We’ve only been there once, but if what we had today is representative of the menu across the board… nothing short of excellent… superbly delicious. Properly prepared and nicely presented. I had the chicken risotto lunch special($ 4.99). My wife had the standard chicken kabob($ 9.99 I think). We had three appetizers(Caprese Salad, Persian Egg Plant, and Persian yogurt with mint and cucumber). The bread was lightly toasted and made fresh on the premises. Wow was it ever delicious!!! There are maybe 9(italian) lunch specials including Lasagna… all are just $ 4.99. The lunch servings are as large as a traditional dinner serving. I do not know how they do it. The quality and the taste is as good as it gets. We will absolutely return again and again, and highly recommend dining at Grande Polentoni for anyone in the area that is looking for a superb place to eat with quiet enchanting ambiance, excellent service, and superb quisine. No wine and beer license yet, but it’s on the way, and until it arrives… the owners are cool… no corkage fee.

The best Italian food I have ever had, my husband and I went to grande Polentoni to celebrate his birthday, every thing was great in this restaurant specially the part that, we bring our own wine but they don’t charge us and they also serve us with a free desert and a birthday candle on top, this guys are amazing, we will definitely come back
