I took two bikes in for servicing, deciding to stay local(blocks from our house), rather than transport them to two different locations in the county for free servicing where they were each purchased. One bike has only been in use for just six weeks and was supposed to have a tune-up after«breaking it in». At Windsor Bicycle Center they looked at it, adjusting a couple minor things, and said it was good to go – no charge. The other bike needed a few more adjustments after frequent riding for six or so months, and was ready to go in about fifteen minutes and for only twenty bucks! We would have loved to purchase our bikes right here in Windsor, especially with such amazing and friendly service, but we went with Yuba brand cargo bikes to accommodate our growing family. Now all I hope is that WBC starts carrying these great bikes so we can get our accessories here, and refer others in this family-friendly community to a great bike shop!

Living next to the bike shop means upgrading your kid’s bike constantly. Plus my bike now looks like a mutant with all the extra accessories. Kid seat, basket, and of course water, pump, and kickstand plus two extra tubes. I’m a sucker for gadgets.

I couldn’t be happier with the service at this bike shop. I brought my bike for an issue which I thought would be a costly repair. It turns out only a minor adjustment was needed, I got my bike back in less than 5 minutes and he didn’t charge me. I will continue to bring my bikes here for servicing.

This place is seriously a gem! After visiting and being unsatisfied with our local Cotati bike shop, two in Petaluma and one in Santa Rosa, my husband and I ended up in Windsor at the Bicycle Center and I am so glad we did. The weekend crew; Joe, Kevin and Ben, were all fantastic! We were looking at getting bikes for the whole family and they were all very knowledgeable, friendly and seriously went out of there way to make sure we found just the right bike for my four year old, and my husband and I. We purchased all three bikes and they even customized a special part of my husbands bike to ensure our children’s trailer would connect safely. Amazing team, amazing customer service, amazing prices, amazing all around experience. Highly recommend!

This is a great Family Bike shop. They offer really variety of bikes for my kids. When I go there, the merchandise is laid out well and the staff is really knowledgeable. You can tell they love their sport! I’ve been able to use their repair services and was really happy with how thorough they were. They found some additional issues with my brakes that I didn’t know I had. Good thing they found it and not me when I was out on a ride. They have a great location in Windsor right near the Town Green.

This place has is pretty inconsistent with their service, and overpriced. Once, I called them and asked them how much it would cost to get my bmx bike frame repaired under warranty, as I had bought it there. They told me it would be $ 150 dollars for the breakdown and shipping, which is less than a new bike, so I brought in my bike and had them take care of getting it repaired by the manufacturer under warranty. When I came in to pick up the bike post repair, they tried to bill me $ 150 for the breakdown and shipping to the manufacturer, then ANOTHER $ 150 for the return shipping and rebuild, which I was under the impression was included in the initial $ 150. This was very frustrating, as I would have just bought a used bike if I knew getting my old one repaired would be $ 300.00. I do have to say that they were pretty gracious once I brought up this misunderstanding and the fact that $ 300.00 is almost a new bike. They ended up only charging me the original $ 150 I was quoted, which was nice of them, but I would have appreciated more clear communication from the outset as I made a call before bringing my bike in specifically to clear up how much a repair would end up costing. Another time, I brought in a wheel to have some spokes replaced and trued, and they told me that my rim was shot and I would have to buy a new rim and build a new wheel. I took the wheel and a new rim to NORCALBIKESPORT in Santa Rosa to have the wheelbuild done, as they offered the cheapest pricing for a wheel build. They laced up the new wheel for me, and when I came and picked up the new wheel the technician who had done the build told me, «You should probably save that rim [the ‘shot’ one] — it’s still good.» When I told him that the guy from the other bike shop had said the rim was shot and instructed me to get a new rim he said, «that was your first mistake, going to another shop.» I surely would have loved to save myself the cost of a whole wheel rebuild and a new rim, and probably would have had I brought my bicycle issues to NORCAL in the first place. I won’t be making that mistake again. And by the way, every bike accessory in here — even the water bottle holders — are at least $ 10 more than the equivalent items at other bike stores, not to mention online.

Me: I think the tube popped and getting the tire off the bike is the extent of my ability. Service: Ok, hmmm, new tube and service, just under twenty… is that ok? Me: Sure! Seems simple, but go elsewhere and you get eye rolls because you own a bike and can’t change a tube. And less the five minutes later, I was on my way home to a happy kid with a fixed bike tire! Every other bike shop seems to have employees who talk down to me because I’m not a Lance wanna be. Not these guys, ever. You’re treated like a friend who just showed up for a beer in the garage. Super casual, but professional and knowledgable.

As good as it gets in SoCo. Joe and Mike really went above and beyond to get me the bike I truly wanted. I purchased a bike for my wife, myself, and a trailer for our daughter(including all our gear) and couldn’t happier with everything. Pricing was extremely fair as well. I see some people comparing prices to Amazon or other places online which is unfair. While I’m sure the prices are marked up, I’m sure the margins are much smaller than you think. If you expect to pay less at a local bike shop than on Amazon then maybe you shouldn’t be shopping at a LBC. It’s about supporting the community and the people working at the shop. Bottom line is that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and truly care about you having a fun cycling experience.

I cannot recommend these guys. I’m on my second bike from wbc. I’ve dropped over 4k here and I’ve come to realize I have had better results from the school of youtube. After being misinformed about«tubeless» set up, they did it for me, charged me for it without my consent(which was refunded to me after I complained) and it failed to seal my tires. I have since set up 4 tl tires 100% successful.(2 on my 650b and 2 on my specialized 29er)(yup, another 2k of business wbc could have had.) Sorry, I cannot trust this shop after MY experience.

Truly the best around. My boyfriend and I rented bikes in early October from the Windsor Bicycle Center and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They gave us ideas of where to ride and didn’t make me feel out of place for being a novice biker. The staff was helpful, fast and friendly. I can’t wait to be back.

My son needed new brake pads for his BMX bike. I tried all the usual places but every where in Santa Rosa seems to be sold out of brake pads. So I went to Windsor bikes. I was sure they would have it and they did. They had them at $ 17 for two pads. That is more than twice what you would pay elsewhere. I knew the bike shop would be more expensive, but twice the price? They were not very friendly either. There must be a better shop to go to in Sonoma county.

Sonoma Counties first Solar Powered Bike Shop. This isn’t just a bike shop it’s a community dedicated to the sport. The owner Mike is very passionate about bikes, but more importantly the people that visit the shop. Take the time to check it out and see what they are building.

Awesome place. We bought our daughter her first«big girl» bike and they sent a personal hand written note thanking us for our purchase. That is customer service at it’s best!

I’ve been taking my 29er mountain bike(Salsa Big Mamma) here for a couple of years. I’ve had minor and major tune ups. They always go above an beyond. The few negative reviews here are clearly not the normal experience. Like if you’re standing around a bike shop for 10 minutes and need help– that’s probably 9 minutes longer than you should wait to say, «excuse me I have a question about [insert question here]». It’s a bike shop… speak up and be friendly. This isn’t Nordstrom people. The owner and employees are all riders and I’ve learned so much by just dropping in and talking about the latest greatest. Also, they have a great demo program that helped me choose the right saddle. Recently I took my mtn bike in for a minor tune up and they ended up calling me to let me know my rear shock was shot. For a few extra bucks the rebuilt it like new which is what I should have been doing every year anyways. Good shop, fair prices, great service and cool guys. This is a great Bike Shop!

I’m new to Windsor and had a specific budget to buy a new step-through bike. Salesperson seemed knowledgeable about what they had to offer in my price range, and let me ride the bike up and down the street. With the year-end sale, I was able to get a bike and helmet within my budget. Other products — nutrition, accessories, etc. seem pricey. May try the Friday morning yoga class they offer there.

I went in here a few weeks ago when I was in town for the Vineman 70.3 Ironman event. I thought I brought enough Cytomax with me but turns out, I was a scoop full away from completing my race day nutrition. I found Windsor Bicycle Center on Unilocal and was happy to find they were less than 2 miles away from the expo. I was promptly greeted by staff members but was able to find the Cytomax without issue. I have a bad habit about looking at prices but was shocked when my 82 serving container cost $ 59.99! YES! For those that regularly buy Cytomax, that’s $ 20 more than I pay at stores at home and even more if I order in advance through Amazon. I really needed this and since I didn’t notice until I signed my credit card receipt, I just took the item and left. I felt really ripped off though and couldn’t help but wonder if they jacked the prices up because of all those in town for the race. I don’t live in the area but for those who do — I would shop around and think twice before thinking you’re getting a good deal here. Thank goodness the bike shops in Carlsbad/San Diego aren’t trying to sell their cytomax at this price. Thank goodness I had everything else — I would’ve gone broke if I had to purchase anything else here. ;)

Bought my bike shortly after Windsor Bicycle Center opened here in Windsor the summer of 1999, Today I brought it in for a self-inflicted problem hoping to get it resolved before I went on a trip to Lake Tahoe for 10 days. Mike and his staff had me fixed and ready to go in 20 minutes or so and I am a happy camper. Thank you for a great Bike and the Fantastic service this morning. Pete Sourek

The owner, Mike, contacted me expressing concern regarding the experience I posted about above. As many of the other positive reviews highlight, this is not the experience he expects his customers to have. He vowed to figure out what went wrong with my visit and to figure out a way to rectify his employees’ training in order to prevent something like this happening again. Beyond expressing concern and taking action to solve the issue in the future, he also offered a free tuneup to show me how he expects his customers to be treated and how his shop performs. I have not used the offer yet, but judging from other posts I’ve read on here, I believe what he had said.

Recently bought a bicycle from Windsor Bicycle Center and I was really impressed with the store and great staff. I visited many other bike stores in the area and by far I felt the most comfortable here — the staff were very helpful and I did not feel like they were trying to play games with prices or oversell me like some other places. On top of that, I found a bicycle that I liked there, so that sealed the deal. They even sent me a hand-written thank you card after my purchase which I think is a nice touch. I’ve been back for some assistance and they have been helpful. They do offer a year of free tune-ups which I haven’t used yet, but plan on soon. If you are looking for a bike or accessories I would definitely recommend checking them out.
