I prefer Kohr’s to the more popular Dumser’s. Boardwalk at the best. Just go. It’s DABOMB.

Their ice cream is sooo good! But kind of expensive, it’s $ 5 for a small. I love this place but when I asked for a cup they put it in a cone, and served me the cone upside down inside the cup, which got kind of messy. But other than that, all things good!

This is a typical boardwalk item. It does not disappoint one bit. They have multiple soft serve flavors to choose from. I ordered the vanilla in a regular bowl($ 5). It was delicious. The custard was very creamy and tasteful. The price is a little steep for the portion that is received, but I suppose that should be expected from a place like this. Will I go back? Easily.

I’m not a big fan of soft-serve ice cream, but there’s definitely something special about Kohr Bros. frozen custard that keeps me coming back for more. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s «custard» and not«ice cream,» apparently. If that it is the case, then that’s strange, because any pastry I’ve ever had that has custard inside has always been awful. Perhaps custard becomes more magical when you freeze it. I don’t know. Whatever the case, I could eat through a mile of this stuff. It’s that good.

I was actually having trouble locating a Kohr Bros. on my Unilocal app for check-in. Oh well, at least I was able to grab some custard during my time at the boardwalk! Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the custard, either. But then again, we didn’t put sprinkles on it like what the other Unilocalers did here. We stopped at their booth for some custard to share in a cup, since we just wanted to do something nice. We looked around for the Orange and Vanilla swirl. Other ice cream places were sold out of the orange flavor, but this one had the flavor in stock. The friendly employee served us with a smile. We got a regular sized Orange and Vanilla Swirl in a cup without sprinkles. It was good enough to share during the mid-afternoon hours. Because this was a custard, the treat itself was thicker, richer, and creamier than regular ice cream. This would be perfect for a hot day. The vanilla swirl had a very creamy texture with a rich flavor. Other vanilla ice creams that I had in the past had a bland flavor, but this one was rich. The orange swirl had a very tart flavor, which was spot on. When I had a so-called orange swirl in Atlantic City, it tasted really sweet, and I wasn’t able to picture an orange inside my head. But for this one, I was able to. When combined with vanilla, it tasted almost like orange and cream. I take away one star because of the price. It was a pretty high, but probably because of the fact that we were in a tourist area. However, that price was well spent due to the richness of the flavors and the fact that this was the only spot that carried the orange flavor during the time that we were around. But hey, if you want a good flavored custard without minding the high prices, then I recommend stopping here. Cheers!

We were staying on Cape May and have always wanted to see Wildwood. While walking along the boardwalk I was looking for places that were here for a long time. First place I saw was Kohr’s. I had to try some frozen custard, it’s my favorite type of ice cream. I had the super thick and creamy vanilla custard. You can’t get any better than this. It’s so thick it will break your spoon and very creamy at the same time. If I lived in town I would be here every day and 50 lbs. heavier. I could eat this every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Definitely a nice little walk with my little btother. The staff were patient and the custard was thick and creamy. The sprinkles were plentiful and the portion size was amazing. I definitely could not finish it. The waffle cones were fresh and tasted homemade. Definitely beats any other ice cream spot on the boardwalk. We had an amazing experience.

I want more it’s so good it’s almost unreal it beats any other Ice cream shop on the boardwalk I come from Montréal I am very upset that we don’t have one here this is the best soft ice cream I’ve ever had if I return to wildwood it’s mainly for this ice cream

So yummy and so light! Only 135 calories and 6g of fat in both the chocolate vanilla swirl and the just vanilla… but who can say no to chocolate :))

This is a popular joint along the boardwalk in Wildwood and it never fails to disappoint. Last year, my boyfriend’s sister in-law introduced this joint to us and I fell in love with it! This time around, I don’t know what on earth drove me to get a mint-flavored custard, but bad idea cause I am not big on mint. Either way, the custard was nice, soft, not too creamy.

A staple at the Jersey shore. The creamsicle is classic! Transitioning from one pier to another required a stop here to cool off. My daughter was pleased with the Oreo concoction she had.

Man is this stuff good! Vanilla and chocolate with chocolate sprinkles. The Russian college students who work here in summer are generally pretty nice.

Kohr Bros serves delicious, creamy custard in many flavours. I tend to gorge myself on it when I visit in a way I normally do not the rest of the year. The is largely because I can’t get it at home, so I feel justified in allowing the temporary weight gain. It’s vacation right? My favourites are the banana custard dipped in chocolate and the mint dipped in chocolate. Jimmies and nuts are also an option, I just don’t usually get them. Keep it in mind that the large is very, very large and, if it’s a typically hot Jersey day, it will melt fast. This creates a terrible mess and loss of some delicious custard. Caution! Either order a size that you can eat quickly or get it in a cup so the melting is manageable. Take note, not all Kohr Bros locations serve the same flavours! If you walk about and inspect the different boardwalk locations, you may find surprises. I once found a delicious caramel flavour this way.

This is the only ice cream we eat on the Boardwalk! My favorite is simple: Small Vanilla Cone with Chocolate Jimmies.

A summer staple. Get the vanilla/orange sherbert twist with rainbow jimmies and have a taste of summer. I would definitely recommend getting the small, since the ‘small’ is more like a large. I wish this place would offer a kids size… but complaining about getting too much ice cream is simply unamerican, so i’ll shut up now and eat my ice cream.

I’m joining the chorus and expressing my love for the peanut butter and chocolate swirl! It is DIVINE, especially when you add chocolate sprinkles(or shimmies… lol). It compliments all the fried foods I scarfed down on the Boardwalk. I wish they had locations in CT.

I took the advice of previous reviewers, and got the chocolate-PB swirl. We added chocolate sprinkles just for fun. It was awesome. You gotta try it at some point. I used to come to Wildwood for years, but never went to Kohr Bros. because they just seemed like a cookie-cutter rinky dink ice cream shop. Not the case. This is great frozen custard, on par with Rita’s, the jewel of Central Connecticut(my home base).

I love ice cream. I love ice cream and frozen yogurt so much that every now and then I have to abstain for a few weeks in order to prove to myself that I’m not certifiably addicted. But, believe it or not, there is one chilled concoction that I love more than ice cream and frozen yogurt combined… FROZENCUSTARD. It’s a damn shame that this glorious frozen delight has been crucified in Los Angeles, guilty by association to a decadent dessert known for putting on the pounds. But at a mere 130 calories(for a small vanilla… which is more than enough, even for my dad!), this stuff is far better for you than ice cream, while managing to be creamier and silkier than any soft serve you’ve ever had. My favorite is a cup of vanilla custard smothered in rainbow sprinkles(seriously, they ROLL your treat in a vat of sprinkles, covering the entire surface), but sometimes you can tempt me with a vanilla/chocolate twist on a cone. I can’t go to the Boardwalk without stopping by Kohr Bros at least once to get my fix. I just google-mapped the nearest location to my apartment in LA — roughly a 16 hour drive to suburban mall in Texas, and I seriously considered it for about 10 seconds. Please, Kohr’s, cut a girl some slack and get a location on the Santa Monica pier! Or at least somewhere I could drive to without taking 8 pee breaks!
