Stewarts Root Beer

Went there with my wife and daughter. We split a cheese steak and my daughter got a cheese burger and we ordered a side of loaded bacon cheese fries. The food was horrible, my daughter only ate half of her burger and handed the rest to me. I took a bite and it didn’t taste anything like a burger. The fries were tasteless and soggy, the cheese steak was tiny and over cooked. The service was pretty good. The bill was $ 35 and had the tip listed on the receipt. Wish we went somewhere else.

Had a hankering for a burger so I decided to try this place. They have a roof deck and beach seating so my daughter and I decided to try the beach seating. What I don’t like about the boardwalk is all of the eateries just see people as walking, breathing dollar signs. What would it take to get a smile and a warm welcome? Anyway, our server was named Dan and he had someone following him around for training. We ordered A chocolate shake, mozzarella sticks, a double California burger and shrimp w/​fries. The shake was amazing– topped with whipped cream it was really good– one of the best I’ve ever had. The sticks were ok– nothing major. The burger was actually pretty good. I asked for it to be cooked medium, with mayo and onions. They forgot the mayo but when I asked Dan for some he was really prompt in getting it for me. My daughter enjoyed her shrimp, I had one and I agreed. Over all, Stewart’s is a great place for a quick but filling bite to eat. The menu is simple, and the prices are great.
The service isn’t bad but it isn’t great. Seems to be just a few kids that jus need a summer job and can’t wait for it to be over. There was one guy who seemed to be a manager– but he didn’t see me to do much managing. When we arrived, we were told we could seat anywhere, but the tables weren’t clean. Three tables had sand EVERYWHERE, and the table I ended up choosing had French fries everywhere– the lesser of two evils. He came after we sat down to wipe the table down– but that should have been done as soon as the previous guests left. He was also seen standing around with annoyance written all over his face and rubbing his hands thru his hair.
Because if the good food and prices, I’m pretty sure I’d come back.

Like everything at the boardwalk it’s over priced, with that being said the food was good. That was it, good not great and it will still leave you feeling disappointed. The portion size is the problem, a 10 dollar burger (that doesn’t come with fries) should not be half the size of a Big Mac from Mc Donalds. The service was okay I guess, wasn’t great and wasn’t horrible.

We went to Stewart’s in mid June before peak season, therefore we were seated immediately. We decided to sit on the top deck overlooking the beach. Our waitress was friendly and came to our table right away. We both ordered burgers and fries with black cherry soda. I was kind of disappointed they ran out of Stewart’s cream soda, but the black cherry is my second favorite so all was fine. The burgers here are delicious! Perfectly cooked, juicy, and served on a big brioche bun piled high with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Although somewhat pricey, it’s worth the trip at least once. If you go at lunch time the wait isn’t as long. We plan on returning next time we visit Wildwood!

Stewarts is famous for their root beer, but this restaurant is more of a burger-​hop on the boardwalk. The food is fairly simple — hamburgers, sandwiches, salads — but very tasty. The best part of the experience is the rooftop view of the boardwalk and the beach (but there is space downstairs in the case of rain or too little sunblock). But be ready for persistent wind on the roof and keep your napkins weighted down at all times.
Recommended. I wouldn’t say it is the best food on the boardwalk, but it’s a fun experience.

Great place for a burger on a second floor open deck. Waitress service. Sure it is production food but the view and people watching is great
