I moved from San Jose 9 months ago and the San Francisco bay area is no stranger to delicious family-owned taquerias. I have been searching for somewhere similar in Wichita that serves the type of burrito I like. Although Wichita has plenty of Mexican restaurants, most do not have a good burrito on the menu or are too far for me to want to drive to. I stumbled upon Jr’s and decided to check it out as it was nearby. It had everything I was looking for in a taqueria menu. Tacos and burritos. Since I am such a burrito-phile, I of course got a burrito. They have a meat called discada which is a mix of different meats and spices. I had never heard of this, so I tried it. It was delicious. They let you choose your toppings, so I got pinto beans, mexican rice, sour cream, lettuce, onions, and pico de gallo. Unfortunately, the beans took over the burrito flavor-wise and were more of a consistency of refried beans. I will get black beans next time. The burrito was pretty good otherwise and my only other complaint was that they need to practice their burrito folding skills. The best part was the sauces given on the side with the burrito. Some people might complain that this restaurant has no salsa bar but the best taquerias I have been to do not have one because they use quality sauces. The spicy sauce gave the burrito just enough flavor without overpowering spiciness while the green sauce was cool and flavorful. Customer service wise, I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars. The man running it clearly wants his customers to come back and made an effort to make sure everything was done as perfectly as possible and that I was happy. Hopefully, this keeps customers coming back and makes this place successful.

Their tortas are amazing, just have them make it their way, unless you’re picky, definitely a good dinner place.

The flavored are great! It’s a bit spicy though. I mean I love spicy but this is definitely real deal Mexican. In the best way. My only disappointment was that they didn’t have any combination options or fountain drinks, but maybe that will come later if the business grows? I will certainly be back.
