Came on a Sunday for lunch. Got the 5 tacos and drink for $ 6. I wanted the tongue but I guess she didn’t understand me. The toppings are very good. The salsa on the counter in the metal bowl is like fire. The other sauces have very little heat but are tasty. I would have given 5 stars if the waitress was more attentive. I’ll definitely be back

Five stars well earned. 5.99 gets you five tacos and a drink! Really can’t beat that. Plenty of authentic and juicy tasting cuts and seasoned to perfection. The waitress super sweet and kind. Oh and don’t forget to ask for their hot red sauce!

Authentic, yummy and good vibes. I ordered the Diablo shrimp. Fresh and lots of shrimps. Tortillas are handmade. The chips and salsa are bomb. Try their«hot» salsa. For a gringo it was hit but not overwhelming.

Great service, good salsa. The food is average, but the ingredients seem fresh and the price is good.

Mmmm love this place! The tripa tacos are my favorite! The carne asada plate is also pretty delicious! Their hot salsa is sooo good!

I had been craving some authentic Mexican food, and my friend(who happens to be Mexican) suggested that we come here. I was surprised to see it’s right next to Lee’s Food to Go which I’ve visited a few times before, but have never noticed it in the past. There’s not much as far as décor is concerned. There are booths along the sides of the restaurant, cafeteria style tables, and a TV in the corner. I ordered a Michelada to drink which is beer(Corona or Modelo) mixed with tomato juice, lime and chili powder rimming the glass. It was really tasty! For my entrée, I had the Camarones a la Diabla, which is shrimp in a spicy red sauce and it’s served with rice, beans, assorted vegetables and warm tortillas. I love spicy food and this dish didn’t disappoint. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and I was pretty stuffed after only getting halfway through the dish! I can’t wait to go back and try the street tacos which I noticed were only $ 1 each.

Very disappointing. Food is not fresh as they state. Carne asada and chorizo did not taste and look fresh at all. They adobada tacos(Marinated pork) are the worst I have ever tried — they should call them marinate tacos instead. i do not consider these to be street tacos at all. The portion of the meat and the tortillas are not street tacos like. Next time I will choose to go to El Rey de Oros instead. i do have to say their salsas are very good.

I am addicted to this place!!! The best carne asada tacos!!! I am a huge fan of taco vendors and have had them all over the United States… By far some of the best carne asada I have ever had. Very cheap, restaurant is always clean. Love the habanero hot salsa, actually something I find remotely hot. The couple that runs the restaurant are very nice and extremely inviting.

Holy Street Tacos, Batman! This place is my new Happiest Place on Earth(patent pending)! The place seems to have changed slightly since some of the former reviews. It’s definitely cafeteria style now. You order and pay at the counter and they bring it out to your table. And they also do have soft drinks now, although no «diet» options, so I had agua. I ordered 3 asada tacos(like I do), along with a side of rice and beans. The cashier/waitress informed me, in extremely broken English, that my order included a free drink. My total bill, with tax, was $ 4.85. Ridiculous! I would have been perfectly happy paying nearly twice that. The carne asada was excellent. Very lean and perfectly cooked and seasoned… and it was plentiful! FAT tacos! Yay! The condiment bar was a sight to behold. There were fresh diced onions, pico de gallo, lime segments(as juicy as any I’ve seen), three different salsas and a tub of cilantro. The salsas were spicy with bold flavors and all the produce was super fresh. They also have a fairly large selection of seafood, which I may try next time. The restaurant itself is very clean and is in a relatively new stripmall, so it has not fallen into disrepair at all. It’s true that this type of Mexi food(especially the street tacos) can be found all over the place, but this particular tacqueria does it better than most and for as cheap as any. There were a couple of people finishing their meals when I arrived and no one came in while I was eating. I hope I caught them on a slow day, as this place deserves a large and loyal following. Yumm! Oh yah… they serve BEER too!

El Kora is located near Subway in a strip mall shopping center just north of 3500 South and Redwood Road. Inside it is pretty basic. You have your few tables and a counter and a TV in the corner playing Spanish TV. The menu is simple and offers what you might see at any small Mexican joint and I opted to have the carne asada tacos, priced at just $ 1 each. One downside is that there weren’t any fountain drinks available but they did offer a multitude of bottled mexican sodas which I LOVE. Gimme that pure cane sugar any day! I had a Strawberry Jarritos. Though it appears to be a fast food type establishment one thing that stuck out is that they request you pay after you have eaten and they also serve the food at your table. I imagine this is to help eke out some tips, and I wouldn’t mind leaving one for good service such as this so I actually liked the protocol. When I got my tacos I went over to the toppings bar and was approached by a young woman who warned me the salsa in the molcajete(mortar and pestle) was very, very hot. I thought«Psssh! Whatever!» and piled it on anyway. Five minutes later I couldn’t breathe. I love hot food and even this was way too much. Beware the salsa in the molcajete! The carne asada was divine and spiced to perfection. My lunch buddy had a burrito al pastor and I was told it was very authentic and the marinade was really good. He chose to steer clear of death by salsa and had the red sauce. Smart choice. I enjoyed this place very much but since it is not in a location I am in often I don’t know if I will go back any time soon. Food like theirs is found in abundance all over the valley so it’s not something I would go out of my way to make a trip for but if I was nearby I would definitely choose El Kora over Subway or Burger King.

Street tacos minus the street! I love street tacos, in fact some of the best food is produced by street vendors of all sorts. That being said, there is a general aversion to street food vendors in America, at least here in the west, due to misguided food safety concerns. That is really the genius of Taqueria Y Mariscos El Kora. If takes the concept of street tacos indoors with its own building and dining area. If you have ever drooled at a street taco a friend was eating but felt unsure of eating food bought from a sketchy looking cart, try these tacos and you will know what you have been missing. There is not a lot of English spoken in the restaurant, though i have had one fluent English speaker help me, but the women who take your order are patient with their gringo customers and are very friendly. Also much of the menu has English translations so the language differences should not be a hindrance. My only complaint is that there is a TV in the corner of the dining area that plays Mexican soap operas too loud during lunch. This minor annoyance aside, the place is a real gem.
