Good prices for a hefty portion of Mediterranean food in West Lafayette! Lunch specials only ~$ 5-$ 8.

The owner and the personnel are very very rude! Because I’m vegetarian, I asked them if they use the same utensils for everything; instead of just saying yes or no, they started telling me in a very aggressive tone that I should not ask this question and told me I should never go there again!!!

Second time going to Blue Niles and I can not stay away from their Sharma hummus! I definitely recommend the chicken but if you are not a chicken person the meat one is pretty good as well! Definitely check it out first if you like: Mediterranean cuisine and like to try new cuisine!

Had dinner at this place last night. Ordered a few salads, soup and a few meat plates. I can honestly say that I have tasted better one week left over meats than this. Beef and lamb were so dry that no amount of sauce could bring it back to life. It tasted as if it was cooked 24 hours ago and then microwaved just before serving. Salads were just marginally better. Save your self the frustration and some $ and pick any other place that’s right next to this place. Can’t imagine anything else could be this terrible.

Authentic cuisine, the chicken biryani was a bit dry though.

First and foremost, I love the food here and recommend people eating here/taking it out no matter what their experience with the service. Even though I have graduated I make it a point to stop by here for a meal every time that I visit campus. The service here is very prompt(though sometimes you need to ask for water refills). The owners are very proud and will not put up with BS even if it means losing customers, and I respect that. They have previously made a friends of mine get takeout rather than eat in since he was covered in snow. Additionally(and this happened on my most recent visit), while I was ordering the Mazaa Platter(as I usually do) I was given the choice between the Grape Leaves or an Extra Falafel. Until now I always thought that they were offering the extra falafel as they were out of the grape leaves, but I was informed that the option is given as a lot of people get the grape leaves and then waste it which is offensive to the owners. I definitely recommend going by here if you enjoy Mediterranean food.

Wow – who knew I’d have to come to West Lafayette, IN to have the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had? I had the falafel, tabouli & hummus plate. All were delicious! Lentil soup was great too. Def a gem!

Very good halal restaurant. The hummus is fresh and amazing. I have found the food to be seasoned correctly. The service for carry-out is good. The orders are always correct. I have not eaten in the restaurant so I can not comment on the wait staff table service. The food is yummy and fresh!

Another great meal at Blur nile. The hummus is by far the best I have eaten. Don’t miss the stuffed eggplant.

Overall the food is a bit more bland than I’d like(maybe necessary for a middle eastern place in Indiana), but for the most part the food is delicious — the hummus is particularly off the chain.

Currently a senior at Purdue. I’ve been coming here regularly for over 3 years now. The food is fantastic. My personal favorite is the Blue Nile Shawarma. I definitely recommend it. Everything else on the menu is just as delicious!(except the couscous lol) Only Two issues: 1. They are very stingy with bread. I’m from around Detroit, where we have BIGTIME Arabic restaurants, and they give out bread for free(similar to what Olive Garden does with their bread sticks). Blue Nile gives you a few half pieces that aren’t enough to feed a bird. 2. The service is VERY slow. Also, though the family that owns it is very nice, they aren’t always in a good mood, which in turn affects service. One time, I never received a water refill. I HIGHLY recommend getting take out. You won’t regret it. If you are looking for traditional middle eastern food at Purdue, this is the place to be. This place is a hidden gem.

Will not be back soon. Food is okay, but the service is so so awful! Been here twice: once dine-in and once carry out. The woman owner basically yelled at me when dining in, and then ignored me for a good 10 minutes when I tried carry-out another day. The entrees are probably the better part, but nothing exceptional. The salads are very bland; Olive House has much better salads and entrees. And service to boot!

Wonderful place to eat! Took my two children, who were very apprehensive about the menu options… Let’s just say, once they tried the blue Nile shawarma and lentil soup they were open to the curry chicken special I’d ordered. It was a home run! Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food, wonderful service! Thanks Blue Nile!

Crazy music playing on the overhead speakers. This place was dead at 3pm on Monday. I’m not sure how clean this place is. The floor is pretty dirty. I ordered to go but it still took 10 minutes to get my food. The entire time I’m waiting I can hear the family arguing in the back. Out front, more family members are eating and talking in a foreign language while ignoring you. The food itself was dry, plain. Grocery store frozen peas and carrots in the rice? Really? Plain tasting chicken. The cucumber and tomato salad was watery, gross. Horrible food and experience. Will not be back.

What a hidden gem. In a town where most of the fare is fried or otherwise heart stopping good middle eastern is a welcome change. The lentil soup to start, the baba ganouj and any of the great entrées makes for a great meal. The pita tastes home made too. We’ve been here twice in two days that’s how good it is.

Shish taouk was good. The ambience with the arabic music playing around is very soothing n nice. Loved the place.
Service and décor in this joint are pretty bare bones, but at a place like this all one really expects is cheap, tasty Middle Eastern fare, right? Does it deliver? Somewhat. Both hummus and lentil soup were quite bland. However, I loved their pita(the fluffy kind), and the chicken shawarma was delicious. The sandwich needs more vegetables though. So, cheap yes, tasty yes and no.

I have only visited this place once, so I can’t write a complete review, but let me give it a shot. First, the positives: 1. This is the only halal restaurant near the Purdue campus. 2. The portions are very filling. Try a mint tea — you will be given a GIANT mug. 3. Food service is prompt, even when the restaurant is packed. 4. The prices are reasonable. 5. I love the global feel of the restaurant and its customers and you are likely to hear quite a smattering of different languages. The negatives: 1. If you cannot finish your massive tea or drink, you are out of luck because they don’t have to go cups. 2. The flavors are on the bland side and lack the punch that one may expect from traditional Arab food. 3. Paying for the check can take longer than expected because the servers apparently cannot ring you up. Only the manager/owner.
