We enjoyed our food at Casa Garcia! There isn’t a TON of options in the Jefferson/West Jefferson area so we were glad to come across this hidden gem. Salsa was good, medium spice and I wouldn’t call it «fresh» as others indicated. I call it pureed. It came in the little bottles that I have seen at other local restaurants and it was good but not made fresh daily. Same with the guac which is just a pet peeve of mine. Fresh/tableside guacamole should be a given at mexican restaurant. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and they were very good. The shrimp were a nice size and great flavor. No rice is served, just beans. I wasn’t offered the choice of corn or flour tortillas so I got some very doughy flour ones. Eh. Husby got some tacos and he enjoyed it very much. No water refills and service was slow but we had to check ourselves because we were on mountain time! That’s a different game folks! So we just relaxed and tried to enjoy the 20 minute wait for our check :) Overall decent option if in the area. I’d go back.

This is your best bet for Mexican food in Ashe. The salsa is fresh and loaded with cilantro(much better than the spiceless mushed tomatoes that they serve at ‘Tamales’) and the food is reminiscent of the Mexican grandma that you never had. I particularly recommend anything with their delicious homemade chorizo. The prices are also excellent and you can eat very well for under $ 10. I highly recommend this place if you are craving some Mexican after your hike on mount Jefferson.

The food is delicious ! Everything is freshly made. They have very polite servers. Good place to spend the evening drinking margaritas and eating a good mexican meal. Prices are fair.

Standard Carolina Mexican fare. Avoid guacamole – definitely not fresh. Avoid margaritas – all poorly flavored mixer. Pleasant service. Clean.

Excellent food at very reasonable prices. I had the lunch beef quesadilla that came with rice, lettuce a slice of tomato and sour cream. All for $ 4.25 + tax + tip. As we set down, we were given a healthy portion of freshly fried chips and a small carafe of fresh salsa for no extra charge. I was full. And happy. I had dinner also. Very good. Dinner combo is either $ 7 or $ 7.50. They have a la carte items, children’ menu and dinners One more note: the location on the map on Unilocal is incorrect. It is in the same shopping center as Lowes Grocery supermarket.

Great Carnitas. Food is good and fast. Chips are warm and salsa is well prepared. Great place for a meal.
