Had an insulting experience at dinner. Was served a rancid piece of whitefish. When I took my first bite I felt I would be food-poisoned and asked to exchange for a piece of chicken. They reluctantly agreed but when I received my bill I saw that I was charged extra for the vegetables that came with the fish because the chicken that I was given does not come with vegetables. I explained that seemed inconsiderate under the circumstances and our waitress nodded, smiled snidely and didn’t care one bit. I talked to the manager on duty: same response. Too bad. We used to frequent this establishment often but due to their apparent shortsightedness, arrogance, and clear policy to nickel and dime their patrons, not to mention the substandard if not unfresh fare, we will not return and will recommend others do the same.

I’ve been going to Café Med for years. I’ve always had a nice time. I had THEWORST experience last night and I’ll never go again. The service was terrible. The food was cold. We sent back our salad and the lasagna. It wasn’t until we paid our bill that the«manager» Viviana came to our table to inform us that we couldn’t pay with 4 credit cards(only 3). I’ve been to Café Med twice in the past 6 months… For my birthday in January where I brought 18 people and in November with 12. We’ve never had a problem before with service, food or using more than 3 cards. The manager is a totally rude, could care less about customer service. There’s an Italian food place on every corner in this city and because of last night, Café Med will not be getting my $$ ever again.

Went tonight with another couple, and we all were extremely happy. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We had no complaints. Would definitely go again and recommend. One tip or heads up is there are no veggies or salads with you entrée. At least there wasn’t with any of the four pasta dishes we ordered at our table. There are salads you can order. I would not have been able to eat both as the pasta dishes were generous portions. Next time I think I might get a salad and my husband can get a pasta and we’ll share them. Oh and my husband orders calamari everywhere, and this was one of the best we’ve had. Super convenient, easy & free parking behind the restaurant.

Café Med is perfect. The breads, salads, pizzas(rustica, fotomodella) and pastas(carbonara, bolognese, pomodoro) are delicioso. Eggplant dishes are magic. Throw a dart at the menu — you can’t go wrong. Nice wine list. Good, friendly service. For lunch or dinner, inside or out. It’s amore. Two can share a salad + pasta or pizza and be satisfied, with room for desert.

If you are looking for a quick, simple Italian meal along the Sunset Strip then Café Med is great. The pizza was average, but the service was quick and the prices fairly reasonable. I would not rush back, but it was sufficient for an unpretentious meal.

Right ON Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood below the Hills, you kidding me?! People watching for days in full affect! Had lunch today with two wonderful friends and sitting right next to me was actor James Woods, what a nice guy he is! My only complaint IF it is one is the Salads can be just a little more filling. The portion size is very small. I actually laughed when my Tuna Salad was delivered. But it is what it is. the Minestrone Soup and complimentary Bread was delicious. Definitely recommended if your in the area and parking is plentiful. Until next time Café Med… Stay Cool. Peace — Frank

While food’s sort of ok, slow service(when the restaurant is practically empty), and the cockroach my guest just saw in the bathroom(women’s, which is next to the kitchen) makes me give this only one star!

I don’t know how good the food would have been since the day I made reservations, the restaurant was closed. And not only was it on any normal day but Christmas Day where on the website, opentable, they were listed as open for Christmas. My family and I drove all the way there for our reservation only to see that they were closed. I don’t know if opentable or the actually restaurant is at fault but my family and I were very upset. Basically Christmas dinner was ruined. Jk. Not really.

Food was great again! Service was little slow in beginning but our waitress made up for it by addressing the issue and correcting it moving forward. Overall a good experience.

I have been twice. I love their food very tasty. Pizzas, Pastas, Desert. I am giving 3 stars because of service. I asked to bring hot water with lemon and my friend asked regular water. The waiter brought only hot water no lemon and no regular water. Second time I asked can I have refill hot water and lemon please, refill came again no lemon. Third time i asked can we have lemon and regular water at that time they brought. So the restaurant was not that busy to forget what customer wants. I will be back for food since is very delisous.

Oh my goodness! What a delightful change in this place! As before, location and parking are great. The food is still a 99% out of 100% but what has changed is the service. Wow! Javier was amazing, kept on top of our needs and was pleasant and friendly. Most of all he seemed genuinely happy to be there. It was contagious. There were only three of us for my one day belated birthday dinner from a dear friend. When she presented Café Med as one of our choices I really wanted to go because of the food but the service issue was in the back of my mind. I am SOHAPPY I chose Café Med! Everything was as good as usual except for the service which, this time, was exceptional! If you read my past reviews you’ll see how badly it used to suck but tonight was different. After tonight, I won’t wait a year to return! Thanks Javier, thanks to the chefs and thanks to my darling friend, Tina, for the fabulous treat! BTW, the calamari, carbonara and pizza were killer-crazy good!

If you’re looking for an easy casual spot to get a simple Italian meal, you’ll find it on this bustling corner at the bend of Sunset Plaza and Sunset Blvd. There is a ton of free parking just behind the restaurant, and if you know anything about Los Angeles, you’ll know lots of free parking is hard to come by – especially in West Hollywood. It’s no longer«hot»(it’s been over for years now), so thankfully it isn’t as painfully trendy as it used to be. You can still catch the occasional celeb sighting but they are few and far between and they’ll probably have taken at least one trip to the plastic surgeon by now. If you enjoy outdoor dining then ask for a seat on the patio. There’s still lots of fun people watching to be had, but beware you’re at a busy intersection and amid the many cars passing, you’ll have a good number of dudes overcompensating for their tiny wieners, revving the engines of their Lambos and Ferraris. Café Med is good for groups and can accommodate large tables. The chef will also accommodate tweaks to the dishes based on dietary needs. For vegans there are several options. I like the Insalata Di Lenticchie(I order it without the goat cheese) which is basically a lentil and beet salad and I have them combine it with their Insalata Mista Café Med which is a basic green salad with a vinagrette. It’s your typical Italian. Decent. Not«AHHHH-mazing.» Lots of choices, from salads to sandwiches to pizza(thin crust) to pasta(the Penne All’arrabbiatta is pretty good) and of course they have meat/chicken/seafood entrees for those who are still living in the dark ages. My friends love the calamari and it comes with fried zucchini which I love but it would be better if it wasn’t mixed with the squid. Service can be hit-or-miss, but if you’re not a type-A person you can probably handle it. This place is best for a late lunch to catch up with an old friend and enjoy some nice wine while you’re at it.(They have an excellent wine collection and knowledgeable wait staff.) Not the best, not the worst. Bring your sunglasses and some patience.

So, I live just up the street. Moved here a year ago. First meal, 5 stars; second meal 4 stars because the vegetables were not even cooked to be edible; next meal 3 stars, the food lacked flavor; next meal 2 stars, really not good. LAST Meal here, one star as it was truly awful. There were three of us and not one good thing. The pasta was extremely over salted; the fish over cooked, etc. Not sure what happened, but it is such a shame. Was thinking it would be a go-to place for many years to come.

This place is A-OK. I liked the farfalle al Salmone; can’t go wrong with pink sauce. I didn’t care much for the asparagus; should’ve asked they not include that… oh well…

For all the years that I’ve been coming to Sunset Plaza, this was my first visit. It was early in the day on a Saturday and there were plenty of tables outside. If you don’t mind the sound of the cars, it’s a pretty fun view. Our salads were delish. I had a lentil and beet salad with a large chunk of yummy goat cheese. The service was pleasant and professional. A little pricey, but in line with LA.

Café Med has the prime location right on the corner of Sunset Blvd. at Sunset Plaza Dr. in the middle of the famed Sunset Plaza on the even more famous Sunset Strip. Yes, it warrants using the world«sunset» four times in one sentence. Sunset sunset sunset sunset. This Italian bar and grill has a huge outdoor patio overlooking the always interesting Strip. Whether you stop by for lunch or dinner, the patio is the way to go. If not for the sunshine, then for the people watching. We stopped by for lunch on a Thursday and we had to work our way through the crowd of paparazzi huddling on the corner to get inside. If you’ve been to enough restaurants on the Strip, you know if this is pretty normal. The lunch menu has soups, salads, pizza, and sandwiches, all having a big assortment of cheeses. I got the chicken panini(with chicken, zucchini, provolone cheese, and mushrooms) with fries. Instead of coming on normal, boring bread, this panini came on fresh and tasty baked pizza bread. The chicken was nice and juicy but the mushrooms were the real highlight. If you’re in the mood for a casual lunch(or dinner) on the Strip, Café Med is there for you. Another huge plus is you don’t have to waste time looking for a meter as both sides of the boulevard in Sunset Plaza have huge, FREE parking lots. Not to mention while you’re enjoying your meal or even walking to/from your car, keep your eye out for some familiar faces!

Great food, but horrible service. Charged my card 3 times, charged both of my friends separate cards twice! I understand my funds will be returned in 5 – 7 days, but was very rude and didn’t accommodate for the inconvenience! My friend paid in cash, didn’t receive change so I guess the waiter decided to tip himself! We came with a huge party of 20, now we regret giving this place our business!

CAFE MEDiocre. Halibut: I got the halibut and the horseradish crust wasn’t even soft or flakey. The fish was rubbery and flavorless. Lasagna: Boyfriend got the lasagna and it was dried on the sides. It clearly wasn’t fresh. Looks like they just cut the piece off an old lasagna they made that morning and microwaved it. Ambiance: the romantic birthday dinner date my boyfriend took me to was ruined by the 80s dance music that was blasting all night. This is an Italian restaurant people, it’s not that hard to create an ambiance like one!

Came here because I had a certificate – and because my husband loves burrata anything, so when I saw it on the menu I knew we had to try. The best part of the experience was probably the free parking behind the restaurant. Yup, FREE parking on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Our waitress Hana was warm and friendly, and quite attentive, as were the food runners/busboys who brought our orders and cleared our plates. We arrived with just a few minutes left of happy hour; Hana brought us a menu and encouraged us to order soon so we could take advantage of the prices. I got a wonderful vodka tonic for only $ 4, and he got a sizable Mai Tai for $ 6. The burrata app was delicious; if I wasn’t trying to save room for my entrée I probably would’ve fought my husband for that last bite of creamy cheese & droolworthy red pepper. When our entrees came, we each sampled a little of the other’s; his fettuccine Alfredo was great and the chicken was very tender. My spinach ravioli was delectable, and the sauce was so damn good I mopped it up with a piece of bread. Café Med is a little out of our price range, but I think it’s worth the splurge. We’ll be adding this to our list of special occasion restaurants we’d like to revisit :)

Nice casual restaurant for late lunch. I ordered their original Chicken Alfredo linguine pasta, which seemed small when they brought it out to me but turned out to be the perfect portion for me I guess I was eating with my eyes but it was very pleasing to me belly! And my wife ordered the Panino Con Pollo Grigliato, Zucchine, Provola E Funghi which had Grilled chicken, zucchini, smoked mozzarella, and mushroom all in a sandwich and yes of course I took a big bite out of her it that’s the basics of marriage. Anyway I posted a picture of our orders but food was great and service was great!

Good Italian food; not excellent but very decent. Located at right across from Sunset Plaza, and you can always find free parking at the lower level of the plaza. There was outside patio seating. They had heaters attached to the ceiling that warmed me up during dinner. I asked our waitress to bring me a glass of Chianti, then ordered Caesar salad, Seafood pasta, and pasta with their tomato sauce(I can never remember those fancy names of pasta dishes). Seafood pasta was great. There were shrimp, scallops, sliced squid, and green mussels generously used in the pasta dish and all the seafood was so chunky. Caesar salad was also delicious. It had an anchovy flavor, and was very tasty. Pasta with Tomato sauce was very good, too. The pasta noodles were very flat like lasagna, and the sauce was creamy; it was like vodka sauce. Out waitress was pleasant. She was attentive and tried to have a light conversation with us. The décor was pretty inside, and outside patio was spacious. Good restaurant for casual meals. 4 stars.

My friends and I went to Café Med after attending a local event. Very nice outdoor dining on their patio right on the Sunset strip. First, there is a huge parking lot in the back. So you will have no problem finding a place to park in this area. We were greeted by the very friendly and stylish hostess who was happy to get us a table on the patio. A few glasses of wine, and their Thursday night Pizza special, which was garlic and mushroom pizza, and it was so relaxing. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful.
