I have been to elements 4 times and have had an excellent experience with my massages, Kristen was fabulous. I only was there on Mondays so I dealt with the male receptionist, devin, and he was pleasant. Everything changed this month. A woman left me a message that she needed to reschedule my appointment because she was on vacation and someone overbooked the therapist, which was fine. One week later, the day of my rescheduled appointment, I received another call with the same excuse. I rescheduled again and went to elements and waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes and the female receptionist told me she couldn’t locate the therapist, and she seemed miffed about it and stated it was strange because she had spoken to her earlier that day. I rescheduled… again. Yesterday was my appointment and apparently they are now closed. I feel a little silly that I gave them four chances to reschedule(so not like me since I am very impatient).

Just got a call from the spa owner informing me that my massage therapist was unable to be located and that she was canceling my massage unless I would like a different therapist. This is not the first time this has happened. The massage therapist is very skilled and that’s the only reason why I continue to go back. Beautiful place, but these are the facts. Beware if you really need a service, they’re not reliable.

I too was concerned after reading the reviews, but this is a very nice spa. i had a fantastic massage and even got to go into the salt cave. they have a special on mondays so it was a good deal. I’m not sure if there’s much benefit from a salt cave or if it’s just marketing nonsense, but i enjoyed my experience nonetheless.

And btw a lot of the salt chunks that are glued to the cave wall have fallen off! So really how much benefit are you really getting when 50% of the cave is made of plaster or some other non salt material ??

Have to say I was a bit skeptical with the mixed reviews but this place was great. I have been to a few spa’s with my significant other for various birthdays/anniversaries as she loves to be pampered. This place was spot on; worth a try, and you should book confidently. The place itself is beautiful the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Salt Cave is… legit! Didn’t expect it to be so well done. To me half the battle for any spa is the impression that it makes when you walk and the aesthetics and this place met all my expectations(especially since it was a gift). Most importantly the massage was great. I recently started to work out with a trainer twice a week so I definitely was sore going in and was a bit concerned; I have to say left refreshed and very satisfied with my entire experience. I hardly give out five stars(check out my other reviews) but this place earned it. Parking is a little tight but being downtown West Hartford there is plenty to be found with in a short walk, or right on the street itself. Bonus is the great eats around in the center after your delightful massage! Not sure what others were disappointed in but I highly recommend this spot for some pampering, male or female. Hope you enjoy!

When you walk into a spa I expect to be greeted with a friendly face but this was not what my friend and I got. The blonde woman at the desk was very rude. She said to put our shoes in the closet but didnt offer us socks or slippers. The salt cave itself was pretty and very relaxing. After we left the salt gave the woman at the desk didnt acknowledge us or say anything to us as we left.

A friend and I went last week for the groupon special. The massage and facial were excellent. I had Christine for the massage and Milan for facial. Very satisfied with both and would love to return for longer session. The salt cave didn’t thrill me. Maybe not my thing? With the groupon, it was an exceptional value, and I didn’t feel like I got less of a service like you sometimes feel when using these. The young man at front desk was clueless however. I don’t even know how to explain his attitude except disinterested I guess. There was no cash to break a large bill for tip .He claimed there was only $ 1 in cash register… really? at the end of the day? Hmm… the girls so deserved tips so we had to go to another business and change bill for tips. With proper reception employees I would have given it 5 stars.

Customer service terrible. No warm greeting and the woman at the desk seemed like we were disturbing her. Was called late for my appointment even though I was on time. Facial was mediocre at best and not worth what I paid. Would not waste my time or money with this place.

My first review that I wrote about Elements was taken down simply because it was 100% truth. The owner is NOT a licensed massage therapist and yet she continues to work on clients. Very rude front desk staff who make you feel uncomfortable. Overall this was an unpleasant experience

1.) Just to warm you up: This was a new experience for me. I never knew there was a Sea Salt treatment for people. If you have lung issues of any type, especially, this is definitely a good place for YOU. 2.) Tiny info on this Sea Salt: This sea salt comes from the Himalayan Mountains and caves of India. Apparently there are 70+ trace minerals in it, so basically it is REALLY healthy for you. 3.) The inside of this place: In the cave itself has sea salt spread out all over the floor. The walls are made of actual Himalayan Sea Salt(I actually had to taste for myself — I did the whole Hollywood Detective checking to see if the suspect possessed an actual bag of Cocaine. *licks*…“Yep! Salty!” The cave itself is climate controlled as to preserve the sea salt crystals. It is dimly lit and they have star lights sprinkled around the ceilings of this pseudo caved wall.(Perhaps those were real cave rocks? I Didn’t touch or taste it. Ewwwww, imagine! lol). The narrator speaks through a speaker. He sounds like he could do movie previews with his voice. Beginning of audio(but said in his movie previewesque voice): «In the beginning, man and woman came together to…» Nah, but it was definitely a good voice to listen to. The history and other info he stated was great for those who never knew about this specific sea salt and its benefits. 4.) Outside of cave, yet inside the spa: Nice place. Clean. 5.) Impressions: I felt really great! Rejuvenated! I would come back and do this. I recommend doing progressive relaxation, a method that they use in alternative medicine to help relax the body and mind. It will further put you in relaxation as well as fully breathe and receive the optimal benefits of this treatment. Well, that’s all folks for today. I am Anthony P. I love this place. I have never had any issues with the customer service. I have always been greeted and often offered a cup of tea, but the staff isn’t overly friendly. It may be a matter of taste, but I don’t really like spa staff to be in my face, I think a quieter approach is more relaxing. I have always been happy with my massages; masseuses listen to what you what and know what they are doing. The facilities are very nice and clean. I only wish they had specials…

A really great experience. The pricing isn’t too bad compared to other local spas and if you remember to include the daily specials then it really is a great value. Sarah is a sweetheart and an amazing masseuse. Milan does great facials and lash and brow tinting. Everyone there was really great! I highly recommend Elements Day Spa. Also, I think it is really important to note how completely SPOTLESS this place is!

I honestly have to disagree with 90% of the reviews. My wife and I had a great time and the staff was very attentive. Sarah was incredible and easily the best massage we’ve ever had. In fact my wife left jewelry there and they called us today to tell us. Book a session and you won’t be disappointed.

Elements gets two stars: one because the salon itself is beautiful and clean, and one because my masseuse was a sweetheart. Where I was disappointed was the service itself. If i pay $ 100 for a «clinical massage» I expect to be in good pain the whole time, all knots gone, and sore the next day. I feel nothing was ‘clinically’ accomplished and i would describe the massage as a glorified muscle rub. Unfortunately i will not be back to elements.

So I read the Hartford Courant review on this place before going in for a service. Owner Sarah says in the article«Some spas have a snooty feel, as if other patrons or the staff are judging clients for not being dressed nice enough, or not being thin enough. People can just be themselves [here],» she said. «My philosophy is beauty starts from within.» —Interesting given the second I walked in her and another blonde gave off aires of snootiness. I contemplated leaving immediately, my time and $ are worth more but I really needed a massage. I was kept waiting for 20 minutes past my appointment time because they were behind and was shorted time on my massage. Massage was decent, place is beautiful but with service like this Ms. Sarah will have to plan another line of business never-mind expanding. If the service were free that couldn’t convince me to go back. I recommend two things, invest in some customer service training for you and your staff and put some shoes on. First impressions are lasting.

My wife and I had our first visit to this spa today and it was incredibly impressive. Every detail of the décor was well planned and complimentary to the atmosphere. The knowledge of the staff in the arena of wellness was excellent. Our massages were top notch, and they gave us a free sample session of there salt cave which was a unique and pleasant experience. All good things to say about this gem of West Hartford!

This place is BEAUTIFUL with a lot of interesting spa options. My massage with Janette was amazing! I can’t wait to return to try a scrub under the Vichy shower. Sounds like 75 minutes of pure heaven.
