Food was good. Not spectacular but not bad. Service was pretty bad though. Shouldn’t expect much from this place. It’s basically just another college dive kind of bar. It just has a cool roof top bar that you aren’t even allowed to smoke cigarrettes off of. I’m not even a smoker and I think that’s dumb. Sticky floors and drunk idiots is all you should expect out of this place.

I don’t really write bad reviews but I figured this place I had to cause I wouldn’t have gone here if it was less than 3 stars. First of all I ordered Negra Modelo, bartender assumed I wanted it on tap so I didn’t say anything. Ok, the beer wasn’t cold enough they obviously don’t serve it at the right temperature and it tasted a bit flat. Next we had dinner and the nachos and guacamole were good and that’s about all that was good. The rooftop is nice to go have some drinks or whatever but the food itself was awful. I had a steak and it was bland and the food just sucked. Probably the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. It’s a shame because the place could do a lot better for itself if the food was actually good. I get better Mexican off of taco trucks in NYC. All in all, just don’t go here to eat dinner or you’ll regret it, if you want to listen to the live music or have a few beers on the rooftop with some friends then I’d recommend it. On another note the waitress was really nice.

This place is known more for their roof top bar than perhaps their food. On a nice night the bar on top is the place to be. It’s always packed, loud and fun. The bar on the second floor is a little more cozy. I ordered a burrito which was decent.

Cold food, warm beer, slow service. Not sure what else to say. Nice atmosphere was the only positive.

There are two stars for two reasons: Nachos are good(not as good as they were a few years ago though/chips and chicken seems different) and the roof, which is undeniably awesome. Tacos are fine, but priced ala carte, if you get three and rice OR beans, it’ll run you $ 12.50 for three small tacos and a tiny cup of rice. You can pour on some watery green salsa… it just isn’t great/really flavorless. Go to the roof, drink, and maybe get nachos. Not a dinner place.

Worst Tex-Mex food ever had in my entire life. The enchiladas had so much sugar and salt in the meat couldn’t tell the difference between chicken, pork and beef. Margaritas watered down couldn’t even taste tequila. But if you like restaurants that look like Disney World but don’t know how to make the simplest of foods, this place is for you.

Just had dinner at Mas. Jackie was our server and she was awesome. Very nice and took great care of our table. We’ll definitely be back.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Quesadillas are amazing, and I forget what else I had but it was all great. My margarita was also really yummy. My server Monique was the best! She was so kind and really made sure I had everything I needed.

Mas has one of the best quesadillas I have ever had! It’s a big portion packed with a lot of chicken and a good blend of cheeses. They have a happy hour special of half price appetizers which is really nice. Everytime I come to mas I have had a great experience with nice and friendly service. I love their blackberry margarita!

Nice rooftop atmosphere and good mixed drinks(albeit expensive), but the food came up short. I ordered a plate of chicken enchiladas and a couple of margaritas for the evening. The enchiladas were okay, but they were served at room temperate and even the refried beans weren’t that warm either. Not the best I’ve had to be honest. On the other hand I liked my margaritas, just wish they would have put a little more alcohol in them for the $ 8.00 price tag. Service was slow, but friendly. To be fair it was a bit crowded that night. Next time I’m going to try one of their sopas and see if it’s better than the enchiladas, but so far I’d rate this restaurant about average.

No mas. It was my first and last time there. I’ve been meaning to write this review for the past 8 months. My friend and I came here on Memorial Day and had the worst service EVER. There were only two other people sitting next to us in the entire bottom floor bar, and the male bartender were inattentive and rude. There was absolutely no one in the lower portion of the restaurant and bar aside from my friend and the couple sitting next to us. It took nearly 20 minutes to order my margarita and 3 requests for a glass of water. Ridiculous. The bartender was also rude to us. Some people just don’t belong in customer service/service industry.

This was my first time and it was a great meal. I had the chicken fajitas and the meat and veggies were perfect! Everyone else said their meals were great also. I would definitely go back. I also really liked the décor of the place. Bathrooms left a bit to be desired but that’s my own thing about bathroom cleanliness.

I had my boyfriend’s surprise party at Mas last weekend. It was wonderful! The whole staff was amazing! I planned the party months before and I was in contact with Jillian. She was awesome! She was so helpful throughout the whole planning of the party, and made things so easy for me and less stressful. The day of the party, I went to set up and AJ helped me set up for the whole party. The service during the party was phenomenal! They went out of their way to make sure I had the best experience possible. After the party I even received a letter from the owner of the Mas, thanking me for having the party there. It was a great experience and I HIGHLY recommend having a party there!

Came here a few times and kept giving it a shot, but overall, not too impressed. The rooftop bar is cool, but it isn’t enough to bring me back for the food. The food is okay for Mexican food. This place seems more flashy than authentic Mexican taste. Last time we were there on the roof deck on a chilly night with the heaters, we were brought food with no utensils. Our server was no where to be found. After 5 minutes and cold food, we finally got the bartender to hunt down our waitress. Probably won’t be retraining unless it’s for a drink, definitely not for the food.

We were walking around West Chester, seeing what it had to offer, when I saw a rooftop bar in a Mexican restaurant. I was drawn like a moth to a flame. This place must be amazing in the summer. For the end of fall, it was still nice as there were heaters, but the roof has to be closing soon. We were here on a Sunday, so it was not crowded at all and we shared the bartender’s attention with one other couple. We started with the guac which was pretty good. We weren’t starving, but decided that we each wanted a little more. I tried the carne asada taco and he had an oyster taco. I am so excited to go back sometime this summer and hang out on the rooftop bar and eat way more of those carne asado tacos. One was not enough. In fact, there were plenty of different things on the menu that I am very curious to try. My boyfriend was a huge fan of his oyster taco and will definitely be getting it again. Can’t wait for summer!

Nope, never again. Food amounts don’t disguise the taste. Soda was good. Wait time was long considering that we were among 2 other couples. This is a good place for a college restaurant. Can’t do it again.

Positive(s): roof top bar Negatives: no solid beers on tap. Food is. well try at your own risk. Service is questionable. Bathrooms are two flights down from the roof top. Such a shame, this place could be so much more.

Oh Mas, do you hire the worst bartenders in town because the rooftop will keep me coming back no matter how crappy the service is? The tacos taste bomb-alicious(but are super small and 4 bucks a piece!) One star for candy skulls all over the place. One star for rooftop.

Eh. I was super excited to try this place, as I heard many good things about it from several people. I have to say though, unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to the expectations. My biggest disappointment was the ambiance, or lack there of. I made a reservation on open table a day prior and wasn’t given many time options. This led me to believe it was going to be busy. We arrived at our designated time and were pretty much the only ones there. It was confusing. There was traditional music playing, which was fun. But for a Saturday night at 8pm I expected more life. It’s such a cool looking place you have to wonder why it wasn’t full of people. Who knows. The food was good. Not great, just good. I had the enchiladas… which were good. They weren’t super hot(temperature wise), kinda just warm. Which wasn’t awesome. Their salsa was pretty good. Better then most places. One saving grace was the black raspberry margarita. It was absolutely delicious. I’d probably go back, but I wouldn’t rush there.

The only nice thing about this place is they have a rooftop area to drink/eat in. If you care about taste then you should avoid this place. This place is like a frat house texmex themed party. If you want to get drunk at any cost then this place is a good choice. If you want to enjoy the taste of your drink and food then go elsewhere.

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever… period. We brought 8 family and friends to celebrate a birthday this past Sunday evening. Chips were stale, they were«out» of salsa and guacamole – WHAT??? slow service(nearby folks were going to bar to get drinks service was so bad) and pitchers of premium«signature» margaritas that tasted like weak koolaid. We ordered special taco trays– very mediocre. Not coming back… ever.

I love Mas. It’s one of my top go-to places in West Chester. That being said, not all my visits have been perfect. I’ve experienced the off night when I had slow service getting my dinner or busy nights where my drinks were just slightly off. But when it’s good, it’s awesome! The tacos here are great, in my opinion. I usually share the pequeño taco tray with my boyfriend and we have yet to be disappointed. We will also occasionally stop by just for the bad boy nachos which are my favorite nachos anywhere. And you can’t forget the margaritas! The signature margarita is where it’s at! That brings me to the bar scene. I love coming to Mas on a warm Friday or Saturday night and hanging out on the rooftop. Things usually don’t get too crazy so it’s a good place if you just want to have a few drinks. The service at the bar is usually pretty good, even when they are busy. Dinner on the rooftop is also great, but don’t come too late because that’s when I notice the food service starts to lack a little more. Overall, though, I have never left Mas feeling like I regretted going there. And I always go back!

One word, six letters… S-H-A-Z-A-M! I’d like mas if you know what I mean! :P Are you interested in visiting FLAVORTOWN? If so, the first stop on the flavor town train is MAS! Choo choo, I’ll get off here driver! First, let’s talk about TACOS! I’ve tried ‘em all and I can’t get enough. Succulent shrimp, mouth-watering mahi, perfect pork, crazy cool chicken, killer korean short rib, and very chill cheeseburger! I come to this place every time I visit my wife’s kid from her first husband in West Chester because I can’t get enough of this place! The complimentary chips and salsa are a nice touch and I would like to nominate them for a food award involving chips and salsa! One thing to be careful about though… is the tequila! Haha, you know what they say… 1 tequila 2 tequila 3 tequila FLOOR! Always nice to throw back a few drinks with the step kids and the old ball and chain, and the margarita pitches here are perfect for us. So delicious, my mouth is watering at the thought. I can’t wait to get back to West Chester to get my groove on at Mas once again! :P Hasta luego!

I came here on a Saturday night the weekend after finals and it wasn’t too busy. I ordered 4 tacos but they tasted more like $ 1 tacos. They didn’t even give me cheese which costed $ 1 extra. Meanwhile, I had to listen to commericals at full volume with no view of the TV. Should have checked the reviews before I came.$ 25 for 4 bad tacos and a margarita. I hear their rooftop is kinda cool…

Not bad at all — actually much better than what I heard from people who had been before. We sat on the rooftop deck, which was AWESOME. Nice breeze and pretty good service. We ordered apps and soups and such. Some sangria as well. Everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. The server checked on several times and kept all of our water cups full. She even handled our ridiculous request that each person in our party of five get a separate check.

Heed the warning of this review and others: stay away. This place wasn’t completely terrible, but man was this just a series of unfortunate events! The decorations in the place are pretty cool, and they seem to play decent music. When we walked in, The Cure was playing and we were enthralled by the décor. From there, though, things just kinda went downhill… Our server came to our table and got our drink order(after reciting a speech about the restaurant and bar). Our drinks arrived promptly, and then we ordered an appetizer and our meals. After that we were given salsa and chips(which were pretty good). 15 minutes later, our food arrived. I got the chicken tacos(the menu calls them«award winning») and my partner in food crime got the vegetarian enchiladas. Neither of us got an appetizer because the waiter completely forgot about our appetizer that we had ordered. WHOOPS. So, the food quality? Not so much. The chicken tacos really were good — I can see them winning an award, but beyond that, it was a lot of hit or miss, but mostly miss… The black beans on the side, however, were tasteless and seemed like they came straight from a can with nothing added or done to them. Blech. The vegetarian enchilada? Ha! The carrots were so undercooked that they couldn’t even be cut by a fork — my girlfriend needed a knife to cut into the carrot to eat her enchilada. Yuck. In addition to that, somehow the rice on her plate contained a lot of hard, crunchy bits. My rice was fine, though, to be fair. Her refried beans were actually really good, and I guess that counters the terrible black beans quite a lot. As background here, my girlfriend lived most of her life in San Diego, so she kinda knows what Mexican is supposed to taste like, so when she says the beans are bland and terrible, they’re bland and terrible. Oh, and the portion sizes were really small for how much you pay. We go to Mexican restaurants in Baltimore and the portion sizes are much, MUCH larger for the same price(or less sometimes). And if that wasn’t enough, I went up to use the restroom and there was no toilet paper. They need somebody to check the bathrooms every hour like chain restaurants do. I really think this place might’ve been invented as a tequila bar and they tacked on the restaurant as an after thought… There is just too much wrong with it. We definitely won’t be going back here(and before our food arrived, we’d talked about coming back to town and coming back here to sit on the roof!).
