man Where to begin. The first time about a year ago I tried ChiliHead and it was really good, then a decline started happening. The service is gone and most importantly the food, its shitty now. I decided to give ChiliHead one more chance last night and it FAILED big time. Ordered some chicken wings, literally 5 minutes later the chicken was on my table. fast service right? Come to find out chicken was cold, so I asked the lady to heat it up… she takes it in the kitchen and brought back the same chicken still cold… What the heck??? I had some black eyed peas.yuck. and I ordered some corn which never showed up. kinda glad it didn’t. The food and service has gotten horrible. Sorry ChiliHead I wont be back unless you change management again and the food really does taste like BBQ.

Had the best chili ever! New owner, great atmosphere and food. Highly recommend. Live blues on the weekend… fun fun.

This place used to be pretty good but recently went down hill fast. I won’t be returning. All the cute bartenders are gone too.

Not bad. New owners have to get the POS figured out. Music is great. Will try again

Wish i could give this zero stars! This was the first time i have been since the restaurant changed ownership. We were given some tortilla chips with no salsa to start then we looked at the«new«menu which is horrible with barely any choices. Ordered beef brisket sandwich for 13.99 had to pay extra for fries or onion rings. The waiter, who is also owner and bartender brought us two bowls of fries and dropped one all over the table, but 15 minutes later our sloppy sandwiches arrived and tasted like complete garbage. They will be out of business in a month.

Don’t even bother driving there. If I could give this zero stars I would. We used to love this place. Went tonight for the first time since new management took over and left after waiting for an hour and a half for bad food to come out. Bad as in rotten. This was an hour and a half after finding out 15 minutes after originally placing our order that they didn’t have half the items we ordered. Oh and the menu is half what it used to be to begin with. The pulled pork looked like mince meat. The macaroni and cheese was sour. They took it upon their own will to substitute ribs for the chicken and sausage they were out of. They didn’t have ingredients for a side salad(but still offer lettuce/tomato/onion on burgers?). And didn’t apologize for one thing. Completely denied that we waited this long for our food. The only person to acknowledge the issues was the bartender. Thank you, and good luck there. Seemed like a decent guy but the restaurant itself is a waste of your time and money and gas to drive there.

This place had the best ribs anywhere but the sides sucked now they’re under new management and the whole place sucks, I’ll never ever go here again. They sent us ribs what were supposed to be baby back but they were saint louis they’re all chopped up so much cartilage that’s all you could see and no meat. They were extremely spicy and I like spicy food but that was ridiculous. I give them a month and they will close. What a shame.

New ownership is the nail in the coffin for this place. New menu looks awful and is rather limited. Draft not working when I went in. No music playing. I think the bartender was the cook too. Specials were hand written on a blank piece of paper. Everyone that worked there is gone… and I think I am too. The best was the end when me and the other guy there couldn’t leave because the 60 year old bartender couldn’t figure out how to swipe our cards. Then another guy walks in, sees the situation, and leaves. I give them three months.

I have been going with some friends here after work for the last few months. I must say that whoever bought this place recently is not very wise. This place has a TON of potential but they do not really deliver. They can do well because they have had a lot of employees who are REALLYGREAT! They really care and try to do the best they can in spite of what they have to work with. They had a decent selection of different beers which I really appreciate! I like any place that does not have the same old Bud. They had a good thing going with a wide variety of decent BBQ. Recently however, much of the great staff has left or has been let go. They still got a great bartender! However, recently I decided to eat and was surprised to learn the menu consists of nothing but ribs, burgers and wings and NOTHING less than $ 15. Frequently there are very few people there even on a Friday or Saturday. It is sad because they have so much potential! I don’t understand why you would take a failing business and eliminate options and jack up the price! I hope they can turn this place around!

Went in there a few weeks back, i used to love the food from there but after learning about new ownership i also learned that this owner has no idea how to run a restaurant, my pulled pork was crunchy and bland(not smokey at all) french fries were cold and the coleslaw had entirely too much dressing on it. I enjoyed the conversation with my waitress and her service was great and quick but because of the terrible food i will be taking my business elsewhere and sending people to better BBQ places. I wouldnt reccommend this place to my enemies(unless you like good service and crappy food)

Not much good to say about this place. We stopped in for dinner before an event at Gillete. My son ordered a hamburger off the kids menu. The bun was three times the size of the burger and the meat was dry like shoe leather. The rest of us ordered the cowboy combo. My buddy wanted the Carolina ribs, but they were allegedly being smoked at 5 on a Saturday night so we each got standard spareribs and pulled pork. The pulled pork tasted like it had been boiled and the ribs were dry like they had been previously cooked and reheated. When I told the waitress about my sons burger, she just said«sorry» and walked away. I’ve had BBQ many times in my life and this was by far the worst and was also very expensive. I’d give this place 3.6 stars if I could. First the good: Ambiance is absolutely great. Nice and wooden inside, with a country/blues acoustic band with string bass playing in the corner — no cover. This made for a a really nice evening, and we’ll head back again. We had a fun evening there. They have a nice selection of draft beers, including one called Chilihead Lager brewed onsite. It was DELICIOUS, and the high point of my visit. I was disappointed in the ribs. The meat was a little tough. It tasted cooked, not smoked, and didn’t fall off the bone like great BBQ does. The ½ rack portion was huge — I could only eat three. They provide four sauces — the Mama’s was delicious. I had refried beans as a side — pretty bland, as was the«spanish rice» — really just overcooked, tasteless rice. All in all, I’ll go back and try again — they have an extensive menu, friendly serivce, great beer, bands playing all the time… perhaps I’ll be more pleased with something other than the ribs, but hey, this _is_a BBQ place.

This is a takeout review. We’ve eaten in-house before and it was OK, but the takeout was depressingly disappointing. When I called in, they seemed harried(Mothers Day) but when I arrived, there was nobody in the bar and just a group or two in the dining room. I ordered about $ 50 worth of takeout, but I feel like I got about $ 20 worth. I got the chicken and brisket and there was a wing and about half a breast of chicken and a marginal portion of brisket. The Carolina ribs were pretty good, but the sides were disappointing. Finally, we got a Cuban sandwich — yes I know we are in New England, but it’s not impossible to make a good Cuban(except in this case!!). I think we’ve decided that this will be the last time we get takeout here … And they didn’t include ANY cornbread!

Terrible service. We left thinking it was a totally bizarre situation. Sat at the bar and the bartender was completely aloof. Food was very mediocre. Overlooked and dry. Will not be back.

This was one hour and a big chunk of money I pray I will get back! This was dry, tasteless, and cold food. All of it. All utensils and plates were dirty. My 12 oz beer came in an 8 oz glass, and I was charged for a 16 oz glass. We went there for my sons birthday. I think he wants a do over! Dont go.

I have been driving by this place for years and finally decided to check it out. The restaurant is very small. There are strange but interesting paintings on the wall. Interesting. I wasn’t impressed at all with the rest. I sat down and it probably took 20 min to get recognized by the server. I ordered the burnt ends. When they came out they were way overcooked. I can tell when food is fresh and this definitely was not. Dry and tough all the way through. I had the sweet potato fries as well and those were really good. I didn’t have the best experience but it was busy so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I will try it again soon.

Ordered cowboy combo with jerk chicken, side salad and bbq baked beans. Then I noticed the flys landing on me. The chicken was not jerked at all. The boiled ribs came out raw. Dillon begged to differ. I am Jamaican so I know a thing or two about jerk. Either pimento wood or walkerswood to jerk. Look it up. I would highly recommend passing this place up. September 252014

Went here after driving by it a few times and finally decided to stop in. I am a big fan of chili and was looking forward to trying theirs. Well, maybe it was because i got mild but there was absolutely no flavor in this chili. I got a cup for an appetizer and it came out barely luke warm with a pile of cheese on top that was bigger than the cup itself. For a place with chili in the name, i was expecting much better. I was very hungry and I still didn’t finish it. I got a salad with pulled pork on it and it was pretty good! Came with grilled vegetables and black beans. My boyfriend got the plate with a chicken thigh and pulled pork with sides such as beans, corn bread, and potatoes. He said his was a little dry but decent when you smother it in their sauce. These sauces that they brought to the table were all watery however. It felt like fast food BBQ, not the real southern stuff. I don’t think we will be going back unless it is just for drinks.

I’ve been here twice now. Once I would give it 4 stars, once would be two. My first time was great. I went with my family for dinner and everything was delicious. The drinks were strong, the meat fell off the bone, no real complaints. My niece and nephew have been a few times and like it a lot. I honestly don’t remember how the service was that night but I usually remember if it’s bad. Get the Fried Oreos — amazing and they aren’t on the menu. I just went here for lunch yesterday and did not leave happy. First of all it was FREEZING inside. We didn’t say anything but our waitress was rarely around and we kept forgetting when we did see her. I got the Burnt Endz with Guacamole and was really disappointed. The guac was inedible. Now I suppose I have high expectations when it comes to my guacamole but this stuff was like a jar of baby food, peas to be exact. No texture or flavor — gross. The meat was… barely that. There was more fat than meat! And it was supposed to be in a «kickin bbq sauce» … it was like buffalo sauce with a drop of bbq — not horrible but not what I wanted/was expecting. My niece had«her usual» Mac & Cheese. She liked it and I thought it was basic but tasty. Our waitress mentioned kids eat free on Sundays and they definitely have a very kid friendly menu. KIds also get crayons at the beginning and cookies at the end. Nice touch. So overall this isn’t the worst place but I’m just used to Blue Ribbon and Red Bones and the other mighty fine places in my area.
