Always empty parking lot even during weekend nights. The horrible food and bad service totally explain why. Don’t bother wasting your time there. It will close soon.

We went here for a birthday gathering. It started out good on our first round of drinks but after that it took a serious nose dive. Almost whatever could go wrong did. Cold food, missing food, bad food, wrong drinks. I’d like to know who made the decision to have only 1 waiter for a party of almost 20. If he wasn’t completely clueless I would have felt bad for him. He had everything written down and he still came over almost 2 hours after we got there to ask who didn’t have their food. At least 2 people didn’t get their appetizers, one didn’t get their food for almost 2 hours and one guy never got to eat because they never made his food even after he was told when he asked who did not have food. I got my food, ice cold too bad I love steamed food but not cold, I was not the only one. The two near me who’s food was delivered and was warm were not impressed. One barely picked at it. We tried to make the best of it and the group I was are fun and had a great sense of humor. Just too many Asian restaurants out there that are great and have great service to waste going back. I ended up stopping down the street at Crystals for Pad Thai take out. It was still hot after driving home.

Do you live in or near the Bridgewaters? Do you like Asian food? Then stop going anywhere but here. Seriously, unless I want something very specific, I will only come here when I’m having the craving. Atina has an eclectic menu running from your typical crab rangoons and General Tso’s chicken to fresh to Pad Thai to fun sushi; plus some not-so-familiar dishes from other countries. Not only all this, but they offer hibachi too – dinner and a show! I have never had a bad meal here, the owner Alex is always behind the bar offering a smile and a great drink. The staff a freindly, helpful and attentive. I seriously don’t have a bad thing to say about Atina except I can’t come here often enough!

I’ve had food from Atina a couple of times now and I’m definitely a fan. We’ve eaten at the bar, and today I got takeout for the family because I’m not cooking today. I’m very glad I did. We got the boneless spare ribs, very tender and juicy. The pork Lo mein was hot, fresh and had a good amount of vegtables. I like their shrimp pad thai(no peanuts) and it was delicious. The Thai Basil fries rice is a must have and has a nice amount of heat which the cook will gladly add more or less, according to your liking. The General Tsao chicken and pork fried rice were equally good. A bonus: a small complimentary white rice. All this for I feel is a very reasonable price of $ 58.00. By the way they DO deliver. Everything was freshly prepared. No reheated food here and lets face it, one can tell.

After reading all of the reviews and visiting Atina for the fist time I have to admit that this restaurant did not come even close to what I expected. In a nutshell, the food was meh, drinks were too strong(and I drink) and the service was atrocious. Bad attitudes from the help all around and I’m a very polite and patient patron but why make a reservation if you’re not going to be seated for another 45 minutes? AND watch others be seated that arrived after you? No explanation from the wait staff topped with an I don’t care attitude. So not worth the money.

The parking lot seemed empty for a Saturday night, yet I’m glad my niece and I decided to go here for a spur of the moment dining experience. Spacious and clean– and we had two choices 1) to dine grill side with the hibachi chef or 2) seating in the funding room. We chose the dining room and were seated very promptly by the gracious host. Ordering was easy and the food arrived promptly at our table. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious — the maki rolls presented perfectly and so fresh tasting. We also ordered the appetizer sampler and General Tsao’s chicken. Piping hot and the fried offerings were crispy and delicious. The chicken satay was some of the best I’ve ever had. Next time we go– we will try the hibachi grill or if in the mood for takeout Chinese/Japanese I’ll drive the extra 20 minutes for the quality of their food rather then the convenience of the run of the mill Chinese delivery.

So much better than your typical hibachi. Service is great and food is great. The restaurant was very clean. I get hibachi chicken every time I go to any hibachi restaurant and this was by far the best. I would recommend to everyone!

Hands down the BEST hidden gem in the Bridgewaters area. We even tried a few things we never would have, on the suggestion of the owner and now we can’t wait to get back to order them again. I cannot believe I just found this place now-and they’ve been open a year. The pineapple cocktail for 2 was a great and sweeter alternative to the traditional scorpion bowl. The sushi was fresh and they made it crispy for me, just the way I like it.(Spicy Tuna roll-ask them to make it crispy and they’ll put in some tempura crumbs).

They have a major pricing problem. It should not cost the same for a mixed veggie hibachi as it does for a fillet mignon or lobster tail. This is simply bad business practice. It’s also impossible to make substitutions and God forbid you want to order a side of something. The food was good and the portions were large but the prices are still disproportionate. $ 3 for noodles and $ 8 if you want to share with someone? A little ridiculous. There are better priced hibachi places with food is just as good.

HORRIBLEEXPERIENCE! Stay far, far away from this place. We were a table of 6 in the hibachi room. The place was totally empty. The waitress was high on something as she floated to our table and then didn’t write anything down. There were only 3 of us having a drink and she came back two times to ask what we wanted. The bartender didn’t even question the fact that I had to get up to get our drinks that the useless waitress left sitting on the counter. We didn’t even end up eating there. We paid for our drinks and left. Not once did the bartender or waitress ask why we were leaving without eating. Determined to get hibachi, we went to Yamomota in Brockton and had THEBEST experience ever. Save yourself the aggravation. Don’t bother going. The place isn’t going to be there long.

The food was amazing — I have never had sushi this fresh in the area. Service was very attentive and friendly. I can’t wait to come back!

We came here one night for a friend’s surprise birthday party. I didn’t arrange the party by any means; I was told to show up at Atina and be on time. Easy enough. The restaurant is really easy to find and there is a lot of parking. Just be forewarned that there is only one real general entrance/exit, so you may find yourself walking around the building depending on where you park. We were quickly seated with our group and our server was really good at keeping the drinks coming. We did state that we wanted separate checks, but we also sat together with each other in groups and collectively, we had 4 separate checks going. Between 15 people, that’s not terrible. Our food came quickly and overall, the food was okay. It wasn’t the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, but it definitely wasn’t the worst. The real problem was that several sushi orders for a group were put on one giant plate so to determine what-was-what was a little difficult. There was one sushi order that appeared to be missing, but it was put on a main plate with a different group. So it got really confusing. I’m not blaming the server at all. She was really overwhelmed and I certainly think it reflected more on the management than her. She was really nice and trying the best she could. The only problem came at the end of the meal when it came time to settle up checks. She asked each person what they had to eat/drink and between all the booze, it was hard to determine just how many drinks each person had. It definitely got a little messy, but since we were all friends, it all evened out in the end. It took awhile, but we finally figured it out.

Update: Atina’s has become a second home for us! Raymond is an amazingly entertaining bartender who is great on recommendations and explaining unfamiliar items. He also makes a mean Mai Tai(you’ve been warned!). Alex, the owner, is an amazingly kind and generous person and he really wants the place to be somewhere where families can come together, couples can relax, and everyone can have fun. The food is always fresh and I haven’t had anything that wasn’t cooked to perfection.(Tip: if you don’t mind missing the show, and you want to be entertained by Raymond instead, you can order hibachi at the bar too and they’ll just cook it in the back.) The staff, including the to-go staff/hosts, the servers, and Raymond’s «bartner» Yan, are so nice and accommodating. Disclaimer: I worked at all 4 of the restaurants there before. I know why they went out of business, and it broke my heart when the last one closed because the building has such history and charm. I think Alex has done a fabulous job of revitalizing the function rooms, dining area, and especially the bar. I am so happy that he breathed new life into this place without making it tacky. He kept it very classy and true to the old architecture. For new customers and people new to the area, they may not understand what a landmark and go-to place this used to be; however, for those of us who spent many years and hours in the building, it is perfect.

This place was a total surprise to me. It really has very fresh food and it is definately a cut above what I have come to expect at Chinese and Asian restaurants. I have been a few times to make sure the quality was not an anomaly before I decided to post a review. We had a family dinner here with six of us. The sushi was extremely good according to those family members who embrace sushi. The appetizers were especially fresh – not greasy. All of the entrees were wonderful – there was a broad selection so I can’t remember the specific ones we ordered. I had a second dinner with two friends and the good experiences were replicated. Finally my husband and i have been a couple of times and just had appetizers at the bar. There is an appetizer that is delicious – the beef is rolled around chopped scallions. It is delicious. So why was it such a surprise that the food was so good. Primarily because of the building itself which is confusing at best(not even sure what door to use), and is simply not very attractive. The inside décor is also lacking – very old fashioned. So it just leaves you not thinking it is going to be very good. That said the hibachi rooms do look very new and well done, as does the sushi bar(yes, there is a real sushi bar – they do not simply serve sushi, you can actually sit at the sushi bar). But the bar and the dining rooms leave a bit to be desired. I also really like the people that run this place. They are very concerned for the community and have donated to various causes etc. This is important to me when I am choosing where to spend my money. They are also friendly and the drinks are great. They also have nice wine. Well what they lack in décor is certainly made up in the food. So perhaps that is the gameplan. I am slightly worried that this place is not going to make it because there simply are not very many people there whenever we go. The location is tough as there have been a lot of restaurants here in the past few years that closed. It would be a terrible shame because the food here is simply excellent.

I went here a few months ago for a friends birthday to do the hibachi. The drinks were good and served promptly, however, the waitress didn’t write down our orders and had to come back to double check what we ordered. The miso soup and salad that come with the hibachi were very good. Some people in our party also ordered sushi as appetizers which were good, except they again didn’t write down the order and forgot to give us one of the plates we ordered. The food prepared for the hibachi was very good, but again we had confusion with the ordered as they were not written down. The biggest issue however is that we waited well over an hour for the chef to begin cooking. In fact, a guy at our table who was not with our party actually had to get up and find the waitress and ask how much longer we were going to need to wait. Once the chef finally came he was very good and very nice and the food was delicious. Overall the food was very good but the service was a little shaky. Hopefully, since it is a new restaurant the service kinks will be worked out over time. Tonight I decided to order takeout from them. I got the Atina sampler and the chicken pad Thai. The sampler was pretty good. The chicken skewers, chicken fingers, crab rangoons and egg roll were all delicious. The boneless spare ribs were ok, but dry and over cooked, as were the chicken wings. The shrimp tempura was awesome, with a delicious, light batter and a HUGE piece of shrimp inside. The chicken pad Thai was absolutely awful. I could not eat more than two bites. I absolutely love pad Thai and have tried it anywhere I go that offers it. I have never tasted anything like this one. The sauce on it is more of a paste and tastes closer to a pasta sauce than any rot of peanut sauce. Completely inedible. I will go back and try some of their other menu items, but I will NEVER even think about their pad Thai again.

WONDERFUL experience tonight! From all the good Unilocal reviews, and getting a menu in the mail, Husband and I decided to have an impromptu date night, tonight. We opted for Chinese vs. Hibachi, and had a wonderful night. Service was quick, attentive, and thorough. The drinks were honest. And the food? WOW! It’s very light, not greasy at all, and so good. This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding, and the owner stopped by our table twice to ask about how we heard about the place, how we liked the food, and if we would be back. My goodness, yes! On the way out the door, the owner suggested we take take-out menus for our friends, so I grabbed a handful. Once we returned home to our townhouse complex, I wrote a note to our neighbors, and left a stack of them in the mailhouse. I truly hope this place succeeds!

Absolutely fantastic hibachi! Came in with a group of four on a Friday night. Actually had a hard time finding the phone number for the restaurant(no web site up yet, had to go to the 5th web site on my google search to find a number), but once I found it, making a reservation was no problem. I had never been here when it was Gary’s or any of the other restaurants that failed in this space, but everyone else in the party had, and they all raved about what a great job they did renovating the space. I can tell you that the restaurant is clean, warm, and inviting, with a great bar, a couple of large rooms for hibachi, and additional seating for ordering sushi and Asian fare off the a la carte menu. They did a great job of exposing all the old woodwork, and making the space comfortable. We initially were greeted at the entryway by a waitress who didn’t understand when I explained we had a reservation for 4 for hibachi, and was going to seat us with a large party celebrating some occasion in the larger hibachi room. Once we got the owner/hostess over, everything was straightened out, and we went straight to our seats. Service was excellent, with good, honest drinks(scorpion bowl, zombie, suffering bast**d). No watering down of the alcohol here. They were running a special on the twin lobsters for $ 10, so we took a shot on them, Asian style. Not sure that there actually were two lobsters there, if there were, they were very small and not a lot of meat, but they were VERY tasty(and I’m not a fan of lobster). If we had paid full price, we would have been disappointed, but at $ 10, we still got value. The hibachi chef(wish I had gotten his name) was fantastic and entertaining, keeping us laughing and involved the whole time he was cooking, flipping pieces of vegetables for us to try to catch, and squirting saki whenever we asked. We had a variety of meats among the group(chicken, sirloin, fish, shrimp), and everything was fantastic. Flavorful, tender, hot, perfectly cooked. The pace and timing of delivery of appetizers and the hibachi was perfect. We weren’t in a rush, but were never left waiting excessively, and had plenty of time to socialize during the course of the meal. Overall, a great experience, and really the only things that kept it from being a 5-star review were minor bumps you’d expect to see with a new restaurant. We plan on returning, and I hope to be able to upgrade to a 5-star. There’s really nothing else like this in the immediate area, so as long as they keep preparing quality food and get the word out, hopefully Atina will become a fixture in the area. Spoke to the owner and suggested that they need to increase their marketing, in particular their web presence, as we want nothing more than to see them stick around for years. He did mention that their web site should be coming online soon.
