Service King Collision Repair of Clear Lake

After the debacle at AutoNation and the seriosuly terrible customer service, we took our car here. Long story short, our car flooded and we needed the interior cleaned and/​or replaced. When we picked it up from AutoNation it still stunk like dirty old, moldy water. And they couldn’t care less. So we took it to Service King to get the job done (hopefully) right.
Sam was fantastic and kept in contact with me at all times, and genuinely acted like he cared about my concerns, frustrations and he acted like he truly wanted to make things right for us.
And they did! We picked up our car and no smell! I did smell some chemicals at first which made me think it was water, but that has gone away, so it really must have just been the chemicals.
It didn’t take them long, which was good, as we only had the rental car for three days since AutoNation was paying for the repairs. So they were quick, responsive, friendly, and did the job right. That’s five stars right there folks!

DO NOT COME HERE. This is an update to this awful place. It’s even worse than it was the last review. Not only did it take almost 4 weeks for me to get my car back for minor bumper repairs, when I picked up the car, the rear taillight didn’t work AND the car was filthy. I refuse to let them have my car another night so I drove away and I’m taking it to the dealership. Completely awful service and terrible workmanship. If you are considering this place or your insurance tries to sell you any service King, DO NOT LISTEN. Experiences like this are very common apparently.

Well, I read the other reviews and I had a completely different experience than the negative reviews posted here on Unilocal.I dealt with Jennifer Reno and she was very courteous and professional. I had a minor accident with some front bumper damage. I was not at fault and the other driver’s insurance company paid for my repairs. They were not really wanting to pay for my entire bumper to be painted since the paint damage was small and it was more on the driver side. Jennifer worked her magic and got them to paint my entire bumper. They did a great job. It was completed in the time I was told whenever I got my estimate which was only a 48 hour turnaround. They also have an on site car rental agency which is very convenient. I can not speak for any of the other service advisors who work there, but I highly recommend Jennifer Reno if you need professional, quality, and above all… honest work.

AVOID AT ANY COST, PERIOD. I would never ever use this place again. I had a minor accident and got some frontal damage on my right front light area. I did visit 2 other places to get the quote/​estimated time for repair, which was about $ 2000 for 3 days. But I had GEICO insurance and I needed to go to this place to meet the GEICO adjuster. She said about the same price quote, and she said it’s gonna be 5 days.
Since I could not pick up the car during the weekdays due to work (they are not accommodating after-​hour pickup etc unlike other small local body shops), I thought I would just pick up the car next weekend and said ok.
GEICO really speaks in the way that makes you think this is the fastest and easiest way to fix your car.
WRONG!
They told me 1 day later they found additional damages so it would take 6.5 days instead of 5 days. Ok, fine. But then. Tomorrow it has been 21 days since I left my car at this Service King, and my car is not done yet. Even all what they say is «your car is in paint. it’s gonna take a while. we do not know when your car is ready.»
What I figured out from the recent conversation with Service King representative was that, they have over-​capacity repair orders (they said 100+ cars are in their lot right now) and basically most cars are «waiting in line» for their turns.
WTF they should have told me this when I was making the decision of repairing the car at this service king, shouldn’t they?!
Think about it, even with GEICO discount the cheapest rental car costs like $ 40/​day with insurance. 3 weeks is $ 800, that’s even more than my deductible. Then while you are paying that, for most of those days your car is literally just sitting there all day long. No work progress. How unreasonable is that? And you would not think you need to book a monthly or even weekly rate when they initially told you it will be done in 5 days and keep telling you «sorry, we are experiencing a bit of delays, but I will keep updating you!». No wonder enterprise is partnered with this place.
So obviously I am so pissed off. I called/​sent messages to Service King many times but they do not care. «Yes maam, all we know is that your car is in paint. We will keep you updated.» What’s the point of update when you cannot even get the estimate of time left?
This is because, based on the GEICO partnership, service king can automatically get all those innocent victims like me every day. Although that itself is causing this overcapacity problem, because of this secured source they do not have to care the loss of trust from customer after bad service. They never really apologize.
So bottom line, this is a super well-​made trap to exploit money from you and frustrates you. I read bad reviews on the quality of their work and I am worried about that too; When my car is finally back and if my brad-​new car does not look like as it should be due to a poor job? (I imagine that could happen, you know, if you are a bodyman under rush/​pressure needing to complete the job one after another for 100+ overloaded cars?) I will be so, so mad.
But if I need to request to fix it though, I am sure it’s gonna take additional month… And as Thanksgiving and Holidays coming up, they may leave it in the lot for god knows how long. What a joke.
If you are reading this Unilocal to consider this place, do not listen to the Geico’s tactic words and run far, far, far away from this place. I do not trust Service King as a whole anymore, but at least I know this Webster location is a disaster. You are entitled to use ANY body shop of your choice in TX. Although it may seem to add another complexity at first sight, it’s worth it, unless you do not mind leaving your car in the evil hands for 1 month. Seriously.

Not sure how to go about this review as it is about the Geico Auto Insurance experience that is within the Service King Operation (Red Flags?). So we’ve been loyal, regular paying customers for several years with no issues. I was hit, recently right front quarter panel. My car was drive able and I drove it for a week before getting it into the shop. Turns out the car was valued by Geico at $ 11,094.00 and the repairs were $ 7,100.00 which is not quite 70%…and yet their threshold for totaling a car is %80…so we were well under that threshold. However Geico decided to declare the car a total loss claiming that there was structural damage and they could not in «good conscience» (oxymoron I believe) repair the car and «put your family and you back out on the road like that». The thing is, we are upside down on the loan, so I asked if I could get my body shop guy take a look at it and I was told no.
The biggest issue for us was the young adjuster (LS) they had working the case for us. She shaded the truth several times, attempted to rush us through the system when we needed enough information to make some sense of the situation. We had to back track numerous times, repeat ourselves and speak verrry slowly and deliberately to get her to understand enough to answer the questions we needed answered. Now I’m honestly not sure she was sharp enough to be doing the job OR if she was deliberately stringing us along… either way is not good. In any case the amount of damage + the cost to repair + cost to pay lein holder = … Add to that a totally inept adjuster with zero people /​communication skills and you have two people who will NEVER be using Geico or Service King again. I truly hope that people read these reviews because I’d hate for someone else fall victim to this mess!

I’m surprised with the other reviews, not sure if I just happened to be lucky or what. I had amazing service from beginning to end. I had to come here to get my car fixed thru Geico after a hit on my rear bumper. I dealt with the ladies at the office for the initial collision review & final pickup and car check. I never dealt with the mechanics directly. They were all polite and great with any questions. Very thorough. When I finally received my car it looked brand new. My husband was really impressed.
If I was being picky I would say the only thing that didn’t make it perfect was I had to wait a bit in the lobby each time I went, but that is normal. Also one additional fix I wanted made didn’t get passed down from the initialy collision person to the one in charge of the fixes but that was easily fixed when they called me with updates.
Loved the results on my car and customer service.

Think twice before going here. My car was hit on June 6^th, and I made an appointment to have my car fixed on the 9^th. I live 30+ miles away from the nearest Service King. Everyone was very nice and helpful, and I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. They sent me several emails about the steps my car was going through. I was pretty impressed with all the calls and emails I received. I was finally called on June 22^nd, 13 days later to pick up my car. I was excited to finally get me car back! The gentleman pulled my car around, and I was totally shocked! Not only was the car DIRTY, it was also painted the WRONG color! The gentleman tried to wipe off some of the dirt, and tell me it was the same, just in bad lighting. He pulled my car into the sun and it was WORSE! All he said was it would be fixed. I drove off in the rental, very confused and disappointed. I called the GEICO agent, and she assured me she would handle everything. I did get a call back from the Manager Chuck with in an hour. He was very helpful and promised to have it fixed and cleaned. He also promised a gift card for my inconvenience. On Thursday I finally got a call back my car was ready for pick up. I drove again to Service King to pick up my car. This time it was clean, and painted the right color. I was given the gift card as promised by Chuck. I was so worried about the color I forgot to check the hub cap that was to be replaced on the opposite side of where the damage was. I checked the night after I picked it up, and it was NOT! Again another problem! I took a picture and called Chuck back immediately! I got his voicemail and left a message. He returned my call and apologized again for the problem. This time I was told he will bring the hubcap to me and replace it himself. It has NOT happened yet, but I hope he will be able to fix this problem sometime this week.
