Best pizza I’ve had in years. Super fast service, even late. You have a huge selection of toppings and even the desserts are great. The brick oven style is what really where the magic happens, so much great flavor and a solid base to hold your toppings without being heavy, dense or greasy. My perfect pizza. Plus the vibe and employees are awesome.

When ordering pizza I think the crust is really important. I maybe old school but this tasted like a toasted flour tortilla. Try Bravissimo in Berwyn for real Italian pizza. I also like a good flatbread but this doesn’t do it for me…

What a great idea for a pizza place! You can customize your own personal pizza with any topping without additional costs! The toppings aren’t only numerous, but great quality too. The price is also super decent for what you’re getting.

Had to update my previous review. I went back to MOD and had a much better experience with customer service.

I love MOD pizza but it can get extremely busy! Love the selection of toppings and love how they cook the pizza in a stone oven which makes the pizza taste great. However, this one guy(not sure what his name is but he wears glasses) burnt my pizza & it seems like he always does(time to time) & don’t get me wrong he does offer a new one without charge but it’s frustrating having to wait when I come in on a busy day. Other than that, great service & food.

Amazing food! Perfect pizza and side salad. This being my first time here at Gateway Mod Pizza, the quality, customer service and value exceeded my expectations! Great selection of toppings and really like the unlimited choice for both my salad and pizza! One of the best thin crust pizzas I’ve ever had!

Super pleased with the service and the food! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Loved the pizza and the salad and the options for customization! The size options are also perfect and appreciated. I had a Lucy sunshine. Loved it. And got more garlic with my garlic. My bf also enjoyed the images on the wall of happy employees and guests. Thanks to the folks who answered our first-timer questions and made our great dinners!

The GM, Jamal, was super friendly and awesome guy. Mod is our fave spot to eat out, we eat here on a weekly basis. It’s a definite must if you are in gateway or in the area! You can customize your pizzas aka MOD-ify them at no additional cost. It’s a 10⁄10 place! Thanks for a great time as always

What an excellent concept for a pizza place. I am sure there are other make your own pizza places but I am not sure they have the amount of choices and quality ingredients that this place has. Very friendly service and a very clean eating area. I made up a pesto pizza with chicken and peppers it was cooked perfectly and had a crisp crust that stood up to my toppings. They also had a self serve drink area with some excellent flavored ice teas and home made lemonade. A quick delicious fun way to enjoy pizza.

Great concept, prices, atmosphere, and music! I took my daughter for a mommy/daughter date last night and noticed just how awesome the music is! The pizzas, salads, milkshakes, and specialty tea are all very yummy. The line can be long, but the employees seem efficient and friendly. I wouldn’t go in if I was in a hurry.

Enjoyed a salad today. Same fresh ingredients as the pizza but instead in a bowl or you can also get it on a pie. Mini salad is same price as a mini pie, and regular salad is the same price as a regular size pie. Yum!

First had this in Seattle and fell in love with it. When I found out MOD existed in Philly, I knew I had to go. Came here on a holiday and had a great experience. The appearance, service, taste, and smell were just as I remember. I ordered Caspian with modifications and a milkshake and both were great. Met the manager/owner and looking forward to seeing more MODs in Philly! 5 stars.

Came here on a Friday night looking to go out to eat but not spend a fortune on a fancy meal. MOD pizza is in a strip mall that just got a facelift. And they did a good job! We ordered a few pizzas, but it definitely took a while for them to make it. I can see why people say it’s like a bottleneck during busy hours. Seemed like some people were still learning what to do, but they all put plenty of toppings on my pizza(and that’s all that matters). The pizza was great… Thin, crispy and even the crust was good. We ordered a side salad, which was actually huge… regardless, it was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing tossed in. Overall the food was great. I don’t know how I feel about the warehouse feel to the place(I wish I was more cozy). Ill definitely come back to try a few more pizzas.

I have eaten here 3 times. Every time there has been a long line, requiring a 15+ minutes wait to order. There is a good selection of toppings, but after you finally get to select them, you wait another 10 – 15 minutes for your pizza. They are generally disorganized and poorly managed. On one occasion, my pizza was given to another customer, and I had to wait for another. At least it was comped. The pizza itself is tasty. I always get the double crust, as the regular is too thin and often burnt. Prices are reasonable. I may be back, but I usually just get a better pizza delivered in the time it takes just to order here.

I ate lunch here with a friend today, at the recommendation of several coworkers. I was fully aware of the concept so I knew what to expect. Right off the bat, it had a fun atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff, and ample seating. I got the MOD size and loaded it with a variety of the fresh, unique toppings(including artichoke, arugula, and roasted Brussels sprouts). The number of options is overwhelming, so I recommend having some idea of what you’re in the mood for before you order. The quality and taste of the ingredients were excellent. The temperature was perfect and my crust was just right. I didn’t leave a crumb but felt satisfied, not too full. I also got the blackberry lemonade, which was delicious. My friend was very pleased with her meal as well. I can’t wait to go back! I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

I should like MOD pizza. Thin crusts pizzas with whatever toppings I want? And ready right away? However, I feel like every pizza I’ve had here, no matter what toppings I get on it, tastes the same. I also wouldn’t bother ordering in advance here. My orders in the past have either been screwed up or they didn’t get around to making it by the time I arrived. Maybe I’ll change my mind, but for now, I’ll stick to the 2 slices for $ 5 with a drink at Sal’s at the other end of the shopping center.

Think Subway but pizzas instead of subs! Their sign says«fast» and it is, once you get to the counter to actually place your order. On my first visit here for lunch(weekday), we were in line for close to 25 minutes before reaching the order taker. I’m sure some of this is just a lot of people wanting to check out a new eatery in the area – we had a good 20+ people in line in front of us when we arrived. You can pick from one of their pizzas off the menu or create your own(I went with the Tyler pizza). You start by telling the order taker what size pizza you want(mini, mod, or mega) and then as you walk along the counter, you pick out your sauces and fresh toppings to add on top and then they quickly bake it the oven and my pizza was ready as I was still filling my cup with one of their delicious flavored lemonades. I liked the fact that everything is one price, no matter how many toppings you choose to add to your pizza. There are no extra charges for«premium» toppings! The crust is thin and surprisingly not burnt. I’ve been to similar places where a good portion of the crust was a bit burnt. We also got the garlic sticks(basically the pizza crust cut into thin strips loaded up with garlic. You also got to pick from a couple of dipping sauces. The sticks were good and not overpowering on the garlic. For dessert, we went with the cinnamon sticks and while good, we probably should have ordered those after our meal as it was a bit cold and hardened up a bit by the time we got around to eating it. Also props for posting most of their nutritional info on the menu itself, except it is based on the Mod size pizza and not easily obtainable for the other sizes or any of their specialty pizzas, which my Tyler pizza was one of them. Definitely a place I will go back to. They also have shakes, floats, and salads. I actually ate my coworkers side caesar salad for dinner and it was just OK. I would likely just stick with the pizzas but would like to try their shakes next time. Might have to come a little early for lunch next time to avoid the potentially long line.

This is the Chipotle of pizza. Nothing more, nothing less. After hearing hype from a few work friends, I had to give it a shot. In basic terms, here’s what I experienced. The assembly line moves well. It’s a very Chipotle-like style of food assembly. You’ll find that out when you come here. The crust is pre-made, and almost too perfect. It’s also quite flat, like flatbread. I understand that it has to be that way for the service model to work. But it reminds you that deep down this is not a mom and pop place. It’s maybe the one drawback. Flavor-wise though, it’s on point. I tried the Dominic which is basically a white pizza with tomato and sausage. The good part about the flat crust is that it comes out crisp, and it’s not too heavy if that’s what you’re in the mood for. It’s a perfect portion. The ingredients came together very well. I polished mine off in record time so that means on some level I loved it. I wouldn’t choose this place over my favorite local places, much like I wouldn’t choose Chipotle over a South Philly taqueria. But I would come here with work friends for lunch again.
