Macy’s

It so interesting when you find randoms Macys not located in actual mall settings to me. This Macys though smaller than those in a typical mall setting, has all the departments of a regular on just… you guessed it… smaller! Maybe because of this or b/​c of the demographics in the community, the items in the shoe and clothing dept was not impressive. The womens clothing dept was very unorganized. Only one lady that was working in the MK handbag dept asked me if I needed any assistance. However, i found there to be people standing around

I feel like a lot of people don’t know that this Macy’s exists as its inconveniently located towards the back of the mall. every time I come here I don’t see as many people coming and going. but it is located by stores that I always go to like Bath and Body Works, true value, and many more. Trader Joe’s is located on the far other end.
well usually when I come here its just to get my makeup from Clinique. however every time I come here they seem to be short staffed or have me waiting for longer than I should be just for one product. Today when I came I was taken care of in a decent amount of time. But usually I wait for 10 minutes or a while just for someone just show up. I have also waited about 20 mins once. They should figure this one out…

Bought a sectional couch on Jan 2014 and got it delivered on April. the couch we chose was light color, so when the delivery arrived we noticed there were some dirt and hand print on the couch. The delivery guy took pictures and it took Macys about a month to send somebody to check it out.
After checking it Macys said that they are going to replace the all couch but it will take about 6 weeks.
When the couch was ready Macys could’t schedule us for delivery with evening choice. They said that the day before they will give us a window of delivery.
so three times we tried to have a delivery but the time didnt work.
Until today — August 5, 2014 — was schedule to deliver between 6 to 8 PM.
The delivery guy called me at 1PM and said he will be there in an hour, I told him we are at work and nobody will be home and the delivery was schedule for the evening.
He said nothing.
The 6 pm came and the 8 pm came and nobody showed up — I called Macys and they say that the driver truck broke and they could not deliver the couch. he was sorry but couldn’t do anything.
I asked him why nobody called me to tell me there will be no delivery– i had the living room all set for it and we were waiting — but he didn’t have any answer.
so at this point i wish i could return the couch — and i will never buy anything ever again from them.
its almost 7 month and still waiting — and they don’t care. all they care is that they got their money.

I am not a ‘regular’ Macy’s shopper because I find them way overpriced, and I find their ‘styles’ (usually) cheaply made, and usually nothing to really waste all that cash on. I don’t like this one in particular because some of the people follow me around like I’m some sort of shop-​lifter.
Also, awhile back i had applied to their makeup department. When i was E-​mailed for and interview i was pretty excited. Imagine my surprise when i had to wait 45 minutes for my interview to find out (in a nasty manner) that there was a computer glitch and actually no job.
I’d rather shop at Wal-​Mart.

This Macys looks like an outlet for some second rate clothing store. Messy and disorganized. They claim to carry a full line of clothing for all yet their women’s department is all of 6 cluttered mixup rows. No designer clothing of any kind in plus sizes and no business clothing or more formal attire. Not every larger woman wants to wear sweatsuits and stretch pants. If you are carrying INC, Calvin, Michael Korrs and Tommy for regular sizes (which also looked quite scarce) then carry it in larger sizes as well. Overall the quality of clothing in this store certainly is not reflective of those who live in this area. Your buyers need to get on board with what the consumers who live in the area want — I guarantee you are not getting neighborhood clientele now.

This place is a hidden gem in Wayne (yep, I just used a Unilocal cliché). From the outside, it looks like a very outdated 1980’s Macy’s, but once you get inside it looks like the same Macy’s that’s in the mall, just a bit smaller.
As soon as you walk in, your put right into the Jewlery/​Cosmetics/​Fragrance department. The Store definitely caters to the female crowd; the store’s clothing department is about sixty percent Women’s (women’s, juniors, shoes, etc.), twenty percent Children’s, and twenty percent Men’s.
The Men’s department is very small; mainly formal and dress casual clothing. In my time shopping here I’ve picked up some nice dress shirts, a few ties, and a couple of really nice shoes.
They may not have everything, but overall it’s a great Macy’s and if you live close by, you don’t need to be inconvinced by Mall traffic to shop here.

I normally visit the Macys in Willowbrook or in the city. I had to pick up a gift last minute here today. I know its the Friday before Christmas and it would be busy. It wasn’t that busy in there but they were severely overwhelmed. I had to go to the Clinique area and the woman there was nice but excruciatingly slow. I have been here at other times during the year and had similar experiences. I would only go here again in a pinch. Now I know why I mostly shop this type of store online.

The building looks like a prison from the parking lot but inside it is a modern well thought out retail environment. Not much in menswear but lots of women’s fashions. Plenty of staff.

They finally got the jewelry certificate for me after I stopped by in person again. I’m happy that they made it right. Also, they were much nicer this time.
