I ordered delivery today and it arrived hot, fresh, but super late! I give St. John’s Kitchen four stars because the food was good but not great. It wasn’t bad either, everything tasted as expected, pretty similar to my mama’s cooking but not quite. The mac and cheese was good and cheesy, the greens tasted like greens but maybe needed a little more salt, the fried chicken and fish were good, but maybe a bit more seasoning was needed to give it extra flavor. The prices were right, $ 8 – 10 per plate is not bad at all. I’m sure St. John’s will do well around there, the food is hands down better than most of the eateries in the neighborhood, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat it. Also there’s no seating and bullet proof glass there. Is St. John’s Kitchen afraid of Black people? Does the restaurant owner know that their business can grab majority of Denny’s and the Chinese food restaurant’s customers in this area if they have dine in seating and delivery? Menu’s…where are the menus? I know there’s a website but since the place is new it should pass out menus with every order… On second thought… I give St. John’s Kitchen three stars for poor business planning. I also want to mention that I received my order one hour and twenty minutes after I ordered it. Hey I’m glad they deliver but the eatery is five minutes from my condo, the delivery was super late! I think it had more to do with the delivery service than the actual business. St. John’s uses a service called grubhub, I’ve used grubhub before, but I usually call grubhub itself than they place the orders, pick up the food, and deliver. This time around I ordered from St. John’s website, my order was supposed to go to St. John’s and grubhub, but grubhub didn’t receive it. I received a service credit so I’m not counting that against them.
