When I saw the name Burrito Brothers, I expected the flavorless American stuff that you’d find in a college food court. I was happy to see that the menu definitely not Moe’s Southwest Grill. I wasn’t too hungry so I got two pupusas to go for only $ 2 each. There were people who ordered burritos after me and got their food first, which was a good sign that they were making mine fresh! They came with a spicy pickled cabbage salad(kinda like kimchi) which was such a good complement. My craving for cheesy corn goodness was satisfied. I wish I had ordered more. Oh, and they have these little cups of green hot sauce to go and even for me as a hot sauce enthusiast, it is HOT.

Wasn’t a good visit from the get-go. I was really craving a good breakfast burrito around brunch and called ahead to make sure I could get one at this locations. After the two thumbs up from the worker on the phone I was set. I fought traffic/construction/wrong turns(not locals)/paying way too much for parking I finally made it and was told it was too late for breakfast items. Well… Thank you… Thank you very much. That would have been great to know when I asked specific questions over the phone. I ended up settling for the chicken burrito with sour cream and guacamole(which I was charged additional for) and all the works of lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Got the burrito — cold. Soo good right? No. Not good at all. Barley had any chicken, absolutely NO sign of guacamole or sour cream, and I didn’t realized warm burritos came with cold lettuce, raw green peppers and raw onions. I pretty much tore it apart and tried to pick at anything worth eating(which wasn’t much). Please tell me what happened to the company that I read all the great reviews about??? Definitely money wasted in food and in parking.

Best California-style breakfast burritos in the district. Go for the california burrito or the super breakfast burrito. Not to California size standards, about 1⁄3 size smaller than what I’m used to. The ingredients are fresh. Tip –if the burrito has french fries as the potato filling you are on the right path. Delicious. Will be back!

So savory!!! Definitely one of my DC favorite burritos. They use Spanish rice instead of white rice and the meats are always juicy.

I noticed last time I ate at International Square, several people ordered the taco salad for lunch. I decided to try it today. I wasn’t impressed. Looks better than the taste. The taco shell was stale. The guacamole had no flavor or spices. The cost was $ 9.45 for the taco salad and a drink. They call it a combo. Too expensive for what you receive. The service was fine when measuring how long to wait.

I was willing to excuse the long lunchtime line to try this place. The menu looked great and prices were very decent. My steak burrito was finally ready after 15 mins, and it was a nice size(elected to pay the extra dollar to get the«super» option with cheese). I was fairly disappointed with the steak burrito. The steak was chopped very thinly, and there was not much of it to begin with. I would say there was less than half of the amount you would get at chipotle. Every other bite I took seemed to be only rice, bean and cheese. Also, there was nothing on the burrito(no tomato, lettuce, etc). Verdict: Pretty average

I’ve only been here for breakfast and it’s pretty darn tasty for $ 3 – 4!!! Fresh eggs and meat wrapped in a burrito, you can’t go wrong!

Wow! I really don’t expect it, but his little food court place has got big flavor! I was in the area looking for a bite to eat when I came across this place on Unilocal. My first impression was that it was just another Mexican food joint, but damn was I wrong! The carne asada burritos are on point, and customizable! The hot sauce is also worth trying. Friendly staff. I would definitely stop by this place if I were you!

I hadn’t eaten all day and was so darn excited to find Burrito Brothers in the food court. The menu looked great! Healthy(ish) options which is great for lunchtime Mexican food. Even smaller«little brother» burritos, if you feel like mixing it up with 2 flavors or if you just don’t want to take a nap afterwards. I ordered and waited. And waited. And waited some more. I waited so long that I asked them to please change my order to a to-go order. They said they would. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. And when my order finally came out, it was not to go. Rather than sending back for to-go packaging(and waiting possibly another 10 – 15 minutes) I opted to find a table and wolf down the food. Maybe as I shoveled the food into my mouth in a hurried fashion, some critical taste buds were skimmed and I therefore missed the deliciousness of the food. But I just wasn’t that impressed. It was really bland and the quac was only so-so. Based on wait time and service, I would have given 2 stars, but I’m bumping to 3 stars for food quantity, prices, and location.

I am a huge fan of this place. They manage to scratch the burrito flavor itch that I have had since living on the west coast.

OMG! Please try this place. You owe it to yourself! It was my second time here and I had the carne assada platter. If you are brazilian and reading this it is much like our famous PF(prato feito). Seriously delicious! first time I had pupusas that were also very good. They came with coleslaw and salsa. I fortunately forgot to ask them to take out the coleslaw as I am not a fan, and I am so glad I did. That was probably the most deliciously prepared cabbage I have ever had! I am so hooked!

Pupusos is my favorite but I tried the flautas. I compare all Mexican food to the southwest. This was ok. Friendly service. Price is reasonable.

Save the $ 9.45 and head to their Capital South location, where you’re able to spice up your meal. Very slow service. Asked for cilantro and didn’t receive. Worst of all, there was a hair on the lime.

A classic. Super spinach with cheese, hot sauce, and jalapenos. Very fresh tasting and delicious. A nice break from the Chipotle chain. So filling you”ll need a nap.

Loved it. Super fast, and plenty of healthful, fresh options(or cheesy, crunchy goodness if that’s what you’re in the mood for)! I had a delicious spinach and black bean burrito, pretty decent size, and a drink for lunch the other day for about $ 7. Not too shabby. Also, I like that it’s in the food court there on 18th and Eye(or, I) so you can eat by the big fountain.

As a California native, I have high expectations for Mexican food. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the Carne Asada burrito here one day for lunch. It was actually delicious. The chips here are the ones you can get in that big bag from Costco, so skip out if you can do without the chips. Aside from that, service was good and staff was friendly.

I don’t think the burritos are as good as Chipotle’s(and they leave you feeling even more gorged, if that is possible), but the lines are a lot shorter and you can get a taco salad, which I sometimes prefer. Unlike the Pennsylvania Ave. SE location, however, they don’t have a salsa bar– you get little plastic containers of green salsa(hot or mild) and jalapenos. In light of how much I like their salsas, that’s a real let-down. If they had a salsa bar, I would have given it three stars.

I miss this place. They used to be super popular in the DC area prior to the invasion of Chipotle. They have a great burrito, as good as if not better than Chipotle. Burrito Brothers is a small local chain that has really taken a beating with the McDonald’s version as competition. If you see a burrito brothers I recommend the super chicken burrito with a side of the mild green salsa. There aren’t many of them left so try it before its gone… maybe we help them make a comeback. They used to be in Georgetown, Dupont, and a few other locations. The only one I know of now is in the food court on I(Eye) St and Union Station… maybe the one in RFK is still there.
