I’ve been going to Willie for facials (and as of recently, eyebrows!) for quite awhile now, and I must say he makes my skin sooooo happy! He’s made such a positive difference for me.
You only get one face. Go to Willie!

Willie was absolutely amazing! Super friendly service and a great space! I’ve been to more than half of the waxing salons in DC, and from now on, I won’t be going anywhere else! He gave great advice on make-​up products. Will definitely be coming back to see Willie again.

I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded by a brow goddess in NJ for years but having recently moved to DC that wasn’t really an option anymore. I’ve had some really awful waxes done and I was looking for someone who threads but everyone I asked kept telling me to go to Willie. I made an appointment about 6 weeks in advance and didn’t touch my eyebrows from that point on to give him more to work with.
I finally got to see Willie earlier today and in short, it was worth walking around with eyebrows that were growing eyebrows for a month and a half. He did an amazing job with the shape and making sure they were even, and they actually look thicker than they did before! He has a very relaxing demeanor and the room is spotless. Well worth the wait and the price for flawless eyebrows!

I’m fair skinned with blonde brows and lashes. Often 1^st time tints come out way too dark and unnatural. Not with Willie — He did a fabulous job on tinting my brows and lashes and shaping my brows. Totally made my eyes pop and was able to walk right from the appointment to a date. His artwork helped me land a 2^nd date :-)

I’ve only been once but will definitely go back SOON. I had eyebrow tinting and I don’t have a lot to work with :-). Willie just gave them a little lift so it looks natural. Quick, easy, and exactly what was needed.

Willie was great. I’ve been to many estheticians in my day, and he was probably the best. He used hardening wax on my lip which was SO much less painful than what I’ve been waxed with in the past. My brows look fantastic, I feel like they’re a work of art! The only slight complaint that I have would be it is a bit pricey. $ 35 for a brow wax is the highest I’ve ever paid, but the $ 10 for the lip wax was on the cheap side in my opinion so it kind of evened out. I don’t know if I can afford to come back monthly (student loans ahoy), but when I do have the money, you bet I’ll be going to Willie.

In case the other 100+ reviews aren’t enough to convince you to book an appointment with Willie asap, let me throw this in there:
I had to move to a flyover state for a year. I scheduled my trips back to D.C. not based on my schedule, not based on my friends’ schedules, but on Willie’s schedule. That’s right — I made cross-​country air travel plans based solely on when this genius of eyebrow maintenance was available.
I have very fine brows. They’re so fine, in fact, that one hair can make the difference between gorgeous and «where’d they go?» My brows are perfect with Willie, every time.
Book him. Now. Your brows will never look better.

Excellent service. Willie was prompt, professional, and precise. His waxing room is clean and comfortable. My eyebrows are naturally thin and he somehow made them look as if I had fuller eyebrows or used a tint. The result pretty much looks like all of the sample pictures posted on the Unilocal page. I highly recommend him for eyebrows and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Amazing job on my eyebrows! Only downside is that it’s tough to get an appointment.

I would like to start with an apology to anyone who has seen my eyebrows in the past month or so. My brows look well and appreciate your concern (no Oscar the Grouches were harmed during this). You may not have known but I was training for the ultimate brow wax. I knew that if I was going to do this right then I had to prepare the canvas for this eyebrow artist.

My last experience at a nail salon was the last straw: lying on a creaky spa bed, wondering about the cleanliness of the wax, and getting my face slathered with baby oil afterwards.
My experience with Willie was the complete, refreshing opposite of those other waxing places. Yes, he works out of his residence but he and his studio downstairs are totally professional. The atmosphere is like dentist-​meets-​celebrity make up artist. I love that he stands behind you in the mirror so he sees your brows as you see them. I told him exactly what I wanted – keep em thicker, develop a nice arch, and symmetrical – because he’s not a mind reader. He was patient and took his time to shape, wax, and pluck in a painless manner. I left with clean, even brows and intend on going back again in 4+ weeks, his suggested time-​frame.
It was my first time visit so I am excited to see where this eyebrow evolution takes me!

I’ve had the «browchitecture» and Management facial with Willie. He is a professional and is incredibly thorough.
I’m pretty low maintenance, so I’m very happy that after his brow shaping service I won’t need to return again, as long as I follow the lines he created. They look much more symmetrical than I could have done on my own and he even applied some cover up at the end to hide the inevitable redness.
The facial was truly the best that I’ve ever received. It was customized to my personal skin woes and concerns that we addressed together going into the appointment. On top of that, he gave me tips and suggestions without pushing any products he sells, which I respect. He asked some questions throughout to better guide his service, but wasn’t overly chatty, which can be a pet peeve of mine. He was also was very willing to answer my questions.
My skin looks incredible and I look forward to incorporating his service into my routine.

Edit: Just wanted to add that even though he is incredibly popular and must be insanely busy, he goes out of his way to guide you in your skin care even after the appointment is over. I’m so impressed with his dedication to his profession and his clients. I will be a customer of his for as long as I’m in the DC area.

Willie does such a great job. Has an excellent aesthetic eye. The only good brow shaper I’ve found since moving from CA. My only complaint is that reserving weekend appointments takes you months out. Sorry state of brows until then.

Waxing eyebrows is easy. The location is perfect if you are visiting Whole Foods at 14 & P anyway. Will he or won’t he… Willie will!

My eyebrows are beautiful! I was so pleased with Willie’s magnificent work. I’m definitely going to become a regular client … if I can stop looking at myself in the mirror admiring my eyebrows long enough to make my next appointment!

I went to Willie to have my eyebrows waxed and when he finished I thought to myself «ehh…whatever». For some reason it wasn’t until the next morning that I had an epiphany and I really saw how amazing my eyebrows were. I think the reason for my initial reaction was because my eyebrows didn’t stand out to me, and that’s because they just «flowed» naturally with the rest of my features. And that’s exactly what I wanted!!! I don’t WANT my eyebrows to stand out (if that makes sense) I just want them clean and natural to compliment my features. My eyebrows were perfectly understated. They were perfect for MY face and MY eyebrow shape. And that’s what’s so awesome about Willie is that he tailors your brows to you. Of course I thought to myself that I would maintain my brows at home but that has never happened in 10 years… sooooo I will definitely be back to see Willie.
I also got something waxed when I was there that most women don’t have to get waxed so I won’t get into the particulars. Just know that I was happy with the waxing.
The space is clean and cozy and the parking spot in the back is a life saver. Like I probably couldn’t continue to go if that parking space wasn’t there.

I was a little nervous about getting my brows waxed. I had already had one bad experience in DC and a second mediocre one. I’m from LA and I had basically been getting my brows done back there because I could not find anyone here.
I thought Willie did a good job! My arches felt a little overtweezed, and I said so, but my brows are symmetrical (no small feat with my brows, let me tell you), groomed and a day or two in I really fell in love with the work he did. SO thank you Willie! I booked my second appointment.

Brazilian was extra painful. Instead of just taking parts off with strips, he additionally used a wax strip like a piece of tape when you are trying to get a stubborn sticker off a surface. As in, repeated sticking and unsticking. Even after that, there was still leftover and it began to grow back WITHIN ONE WEEK. Haven’t been to him for brow-​shaping, but I really would not recommend Willie for down-​there treatments.
I would like to add that this was not the first time I got a Brazilian wax. I even told him how the last time I got one at another facility I was in a lot of pain and promised to not yell in pain when I was with Willie. Yes, Brazilians are painful, but what made it extra painful was the repeated sticking and unsticking of a strip like a piece of tape.

Willie is hands down one of the BEST in his field. I’ve had 3 different services– acne facial, brow arching, and Brazilian.
Brow–
Before going to Willie, I was getting my brows threaded by the brow threading factory in DuPont Circle. I was a loyal customer there for nearly 4 years. After my last appointment (5 minutes long) I thought I need to find a place that actually takes some time arch my brows. Thanks to Unilocal,I found Willie. It took some time to get on the calendar, but the wait was absolutely worth it. He took his time to make sure my brows were perfect. I am so in love with my brows. I made the dreaded mistake of going back to the aforementioned threading factory for a touch up. The woman who did my brows took 2 minutes on each brow. I cried in the inside because I felt like I cheated on Willie for a cheap quickie. Never again. After my brows grew back, I went back to Willie.
Acne Facial–
I had a very stubborn pimple on my cheek for over 6 months. I tried everything to decimate it. Nothing seemed to work. After reading a Unilocalers review about Willie’s acne treatment, I thought why not. Willie used use magical powers (details are on his website) and my pimple disappeared. I was amazed and still am. I was worried that I would have an acne scar after the treatment but there was none. THANK YOU!
Brazilian–
On a scale of 1 – 10, with 10 being the most painful, my Brazilian with Willie was a ¾. I kept waiting for a gush a pain, but nope. I was so pleasantly surprised. I wanted to laugh a little because my last experience was off the charts painful. I don’t care how long I have to wait, my Brazilians will ALWAYS be with Willie. He was very gentle and my kitty looks so pretty (okay… TMI).
Highly recommend!

I am HOOKED on Willie and his talent and professionalism. This time, I went crazy! Eyebrows, underarms and forearms. I know!
Booked well in advance around the Christmas holidays before my incredble boyfriend took me to Austria (shameless plug for the best boyfriend ever!).
I have ALWAYS loathed my 5 o’clock shadow under my arms. Even after shaving, look like Fred Flinstone from the Stone Ages. For whatever reason, I have never had my underarms waxed. I let the hair grow (my boyfriend didn’t say anything so that is another reason he is so amazing!) so there would be something to yank out.
The brows… perfect again.
The forearms… smooth & soft
The underarms… I wanted to cry! NO HAIR!
The results have lasted longer than I thought. For the first time ever, I wore sleeveless dresses and raised my arms without embarrassment!
Willie is the best. Just the best.
